Cross-country motorcycles Racer Ranger 200 are quite economical and practical equipment. This unit combines decent quality, reasonable price, the use of innovative technologies, and impressive design. The motorcycles in question from China are partially assembled in Russia. In their production, original components are used, as well as domestic, Japanese and Taiwanese spare parts. This model can easily be called a Chinese creation in a Japanese “suit”.
Features of domestic assembly
In the Russian Federation, Racer Ranger RC200 GY8 motorcycles are assembled using several conveyors. The main elements of the vehicle are completed exclusively with the participation of high-class specialists. Taking into account some shortcomings, it is difficult to argue that motorcycles from China are superior to Japanese modifications. But they are much more affordable in price.
The company presents buyers of this bike with an optimal warranty period. The cross-country models under consideration meet all the required standards and consumer demands. This “racer” has external aggressiveness, dynamics, a well-thought-out design - everything that is required from a real cross-country motorcycle.

Since this version was mostly based on user comfort rather than any technical parameters, the developers used drawings of the panther (Racer Panher) and enduro (Racer Ebduro), already time-tested.
The result was a 4-stroke, 1-cylinder engine that produced:
- working volume - 194 cm3;
- power - 13 hp;
- number of valves - 2;
- cooling - air;
- fuel supply - carburetor;
- ignition - electronic;
- start - electric starter, kick starter, as a backup option;
- tank volume - 14 l.
By tradition, a Japanese carburetor was installed.
By the way, Chinese manufacturers install Japanese carburetors on most of their motorcycle models.
Transmission
The bike is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox. The small pedal travel allows you to confidently change gears.
The usual sequential principle - the neutral is between the first and second.
Clutch
- The clutch is cloned from Yamaxa - a multi-disc model in an oil bath .
- The main drive is a chain .
In stock the chain is open.
You can install a protective cover without any problems.
Brakes
Despite its modest demands, the bike is equipped with 2-disc hydraulic brakes. Each wheel is supported by 2 pistons.
Front brakes.
Rear brakes
The Chinese, as a rule, do not have any optional features
Chain transmission (disadvantages and opportunities for improvement)
When buying a new motorcycle of the brand in question, you should pay attention to its internal equipment. Some modifications make the unit more maneuverable and stable. Replacing the carburetor and adjusting the valve mechanism makes it possible to make the bike work with optimal parameters, like its Japanese counterpart.
A chain for a Racer motorcycle is a separate topic for discussion. When experimenting with replacing stars, you need to pay attention to the fact that the original elements are marked by index from 41 to 51. The part on 18 does not fit on the front part. The best option is a 17 sprocket. Adjusting the rear elements shows that a 41 sprocket allows you to increase speed. In this case, traction qualities are lost. Number 45 has good speed and traction.
You can order a motorcycle chain with new characteristics via the Internet. According to user reviews, the original element does not perform at its best (it breaks, quickly stretches and wears out).
Total
This motorcycle is excellent for the conditions for which it was designed. Lightweight, maneuverable, quickly picking up speed and dropping it effectively, the Racer Enduro 200 feels like a fish in water off-road. This is not just an off-road bike , it is a real hard enduro that can handle even the most difficult trails. And it's powerful enough to not get boring, but not so harsh that it poses a danger to inexperienced beginners. In addition, the Enduro Racer 200 has a PTS, which automatically means that it can be driven on public roads.
Test drive "Racer Ranger 200"
Checking the Racer Ranger 200 in action, it can be noted that there is good engine thrust, the gear shifts well (one up, two down). Despite the not very high power for a cross-country shoe, there is no shortage of horses, unless, of course, you plan to use it in professional races.
This motorcycle is optimal for tourism and extreme travel. The equipment is quite high with good ground clearance, the steering wheel is conveniently located, the seat is not slippery and comfortable. Rear view mirrors allow you to control traffic on the highway. The Racer Ranger RC200 GY8 proved to be excellent in handling. On a slippery road or on grass, if stability is lost, the unit is easily leveled. On dry asphalt, the bike corners well both at normal and low approach.
Let me start with the fact that the desire to switch to a larger motorcycle arose about 3 years ago because my snow leopard TTR 125 was no longer enough. The choice was long and painful since funds were limited, the choice naturally fell on China, fortunately I have decent experience in communicating with the Chinese. For At first I couldn’t decide what kind of motorcycle I needed: a road bike, an enduro, a pit bike, a chaper or a cross bike. After a long search and scouring the Internet, I became interested in the snow leopard XR250R, but its price ruined all my plans and after changing the course it became generally not acceptable for me. But then my eye fell on the Racer brand, and the almost identical design of the Ranger RC200-GY8 was the only thing that confused me: that the engine has 200 cc and not 250 as we would like, I studied for half a year, climbed through groups, read What? Where? When? falling off, its weak points and at the same time money was accumulating. 2 scooters were collected from rubbish and were immediately sold, a TTR 125 was sold and then a refurbished Leopard 250 was sold inexpensively. As a result, the amount was collected, it was scored on the fact that the engine was 50cc less in volume and on December 31, with a hired car, we set off to Ufa to pick up my new friend. I purchased it in a box, because I don’t really trust store assemblers, I decided for myself that I would break everything myself and not someone else. So! It arrived in such a cheerful box, with film wrapped on top and + paper packaging. We unpacked it right away, but what would we do without it))) interesting, even though it’s winter
Part of the lining and the headlight were wrapped and lay separately, the front wheel and steering wheel were also removed, the rear shock absorber was unscrewed and there was a foam spacer between the fender and the wheel. The whole pile looked something like this. Well, naturally, I couldn’t stand it and started assembling. A week later I was sitting at home and Exhausted from the desire to race and mentally imagining this, I decided, despite the frost, to assemble my duckling to the end, and, as always, no one supplied the instructions, I had to turn on a Chinese fantasy in my head on the topic - If I were Chinese - First, I had to put the motorcycle on wheels, in order to somehow remove it from the box and drag it to another place, and for this it had to be rolled out onto the street, turned around and rolled back in again... In general, I managed it alone, although I had to work hard installing the rear shock absorber. There was a problem with the computer, some smart welder welded the spider crookedly, there was an idea to bend it, correct it, but in order to avoid larger problems with welding, it was decided to leave it as is, not to shoot with it in the end. After partial assembly, the motorcycle was successfully placed in the entryway passing five steps and two turns, despite the cold at -27 I was sweating like in a bathhouse, I didn’t expect this device to be so heavy, it was easier with a leopard
And now the long-awaited spring has arrived, the birds are singing, the poop is melting, and the first asphalt is pecking out from under the snow. The first thing that comes to mind is that I first need to go through a break-in, and here the manufacturers brought me down to earth.
To drive 160 km at 35 km/h and then 800 at 45 km/h they will clearly trample on the road and not notice it, fortunately there is a race track next to the house, and for several weeks I made circles of 200 meters every evening, as long as it stood sub-zero temperature, the engine not only didn’t overheat, it was just warm, I think this is even a plus during break-in. In general, while I was spinning around the site, the first oil change came up, fortunately last year I purchased at the old prices, oddly enough, the old oil turned out to be not quite it was scary, as happens with scooters and alpha deltas, but there were chips. After changing the oil, the engine seemed to have been replaced, the gearbox was not audible, even the peculiar knocking noise was gone, it began to float less at idle, although all new RC200-GY8 have this problem, All you have to do is raise the needle one notch and the whole problem disappears. Of course, after the first oil change, I still gave it a few times... in general, whoever says that it was run-in and never deviated from the recommendations, let him be the first to throw a stone at me))) When it has already arrived This particular spring, the time has come to register my Duckling, I arrived at the local traffic police and stood in line (they come to us to register from another area 2 times a week, so the drivers organized their own waiting list, i.e. arrived on any day, signed up, and you return only when the inspectors arrive) and buzzed to fill out the documents. There is nothing special in the registration, everything is the same as for the car, nothing new. And now I am the happy owner of a license plate, license and title. From spring to this day, I was stopped only once , checked the docks and everything. Many will say why these numbers are needed, to get insurance, and also to pay taxes, it’s easier to get away from them, etc., etc. I’ll say this, the motorcycle was chosen specifically to register it and not only to ride quietly in my own neighborhood and in the back streets, and it was in vain that I got my license))) But now, when there is a traffic police checkpoint ahead, I drive calmly and without twitching, and thoughts about whether they will stop or not, given that I always travel with a passenger, are not spinning in my head For me, running away from the police is not an option; I value my life and that of others.
Let me summarize specifically about the motorcycle: At the moment, the mileage is about 2500 km, of which 60% is worthless asphalt (we don’t make anything else) and 40% is primer, grader, forest roads. And at the moment the motorcycle looks like this I discovered for myself: From the bad 1) The progressive suspension is just a nightmare, it rides softly, handles unevenness well, but... it’s made terribly, there are huge gaps in the bushings and bolts of its fastenings (without a collective farm) 2) The headlight block is too weak, it heats up due to poor contact and eventually melts ( can be solved by replacing it with a car one or with terminals made in the USSR) 3) Oil in the fork (change it immediately) 4) Oil in the engine (change it immediately, despite the fact that sales claim that it can be driven) 5) Harmful carburetor which is adjusted only after a week of dancing with a tambourine 6) Noisy engine (since it has pushers instead of a timing chain, they knock quite loudly, so don’t confuse that it’s the valves knocking) 7) Brake fluid (change immediately) 8) Chain, I won’t say much, but on mine I pulled up the mileage 2 times, with my pensioner driving style this is normal 9) Dirt!!! Legs up to the knees of the driver and passenger))) Partially solved by installing mudguards 10) Worthless bolts (immediately change to good ones at the first opportunity) From the good 1) The seating position is very comfortable, I haven’t seen anything better from what I’ve driven. On all Chinese I came across a terribly tired back and for some reason my arm was tense all the time. Here you sit softly, high, comfortably, you can drink coffee on the go. 2) Oddly enough, the suspension, after eliminating the problems with the progression and changing the oil in the fork, it’s soft and comfortable to ride both on the ground and on the asphalt, the motorcycle doesn’t buck up on speed bumps, you can’t feel the shallow washboard on primers at 30 km, you still don’t feel the pits The large front wheel helps a lot, sometimes you just don’t notice them. 3) The engine - I didn’t make a mistake with it, despite its noisy operation at 7 - 8 thousand rpm there is practically no vibration. PRACTICALLY this means that of course it is there, but... It doesn’t tickle the heels, fillings don’t fly out of the teeth, the fifth point feels I feel normal, so I can drive about 200 km at a time with ease. For reference, 7000 rpm is exactly on my motorcycle 90 km/h together and 100 km/h alone, you can accelerate faster, but there the complete trash begins. 4) The passenger seat - according to my girlfriend, it’s soft, comfortable, the visibility is acceptable, the handles are comfortable, and when braking, the passenger does not stick to the driver. 5) Light - of all enduros, the normal full-fledged light (but for a motorcycle, an additional one never hurts) 6) Testing with mud - led me to the idea that this is not a cross-country motorcycle after all, I rode everything stock through flooded fields + clay, it’s terribly boring, it digs in instantly , too heavy and pot-bellied, one wrong move and the beautiful Chinese plastic khan. 7) The instrument panel is simply pleasing, it’s not blinding in the sun at night, one minus is that there is no gear shift indicator except neutral 8) Original design - many people don’t like the duck’s nose, but I find it very interesting. 9) Tank - enough for approximately 400-450 km 10) Availability of a title 11) And of course the price, you simply cannot find a better motorcycle for 58,000 Russian rubles. Bottom line: The Ranger motorcycle, in my opinion, is better classified as a road touring motorcycle for use on dirt, gravel, asphalt, or relatively dry forest roads. Like a mud mixer, it’s too potbellied, heavy, and requires sharpening. Like a rocket, it also doesn’t fly, 100 is the limit at which it still behaves adequately, the average comfortable speed is from 70 to 90 km/h. The quiet muffler (not forward flow) is quite suitable for driving around the city, it does not irritate anyone (especially at night). Of course, long-distance driving is difficult, the speeds are not the same, the power is not the same, but people have even circumnavigated the world at half-speed))) I think that’s all, otherwise there are a lot of bugs. I’ll write about other improvements and goodies in the following topics, good luck to everyone.
Chassis and motorcycle mechanics
The passenger and driver's footrests are comfortable and thoughtfully located. The feet do not slip on them and do not interfere with landing and control. The rear elements fold up if necessary and are protected against accidental foot contact with a chain or wheel. A review of the motorcycle showed that when riding softly it is informative and stable. On the bumps. The suspension performed excellently at a test speed of 70 km/h.
There are some complaints about the unit, but given its Chinese origin and price, this is an excellent option. I am very pleased with the performance of the suspension in general and the travel of the fork and shock absorbers in particular. On sand, of course, the bike in question is inferior to its colleagues, but this is not surprising. It is hardly designed for participation in a rally such as Paris - Dakar.
Features of operation and maintenance
The motorcycle is started by pressing a button, which is very convenient. For those who like to test the battery's energy capacity, there is a kickstarter. After getting used to it for a while, there are no complaints about the brakes. Activation of the front brake system does not lead to a sharp stop and folding of the fork, and the ability to control the motorcycle remains.
The weight of the unit is not small, but quite acceptable for this class. The Racer Ranger 200, whose characteristics are as close as possible to the cross-country version, is perfect for fishing, hunting or traveling short distances. A fuel reserve of 14 liters allows you to travel up to half a thousand kilometers without additional refueling. The price of the motorcycle in question starts from 78 thousand rubles.
The advantages of a sneaker
The advantages of the Chinese motorcycle Racer Ranger 200 are as follows:
- Possibility of movement on asphalt and off-road.
- The presence of a monochrome shock absorber with excellent performance.
- Equipped with a reliable pendulum and five-speed gearbox.
- Comfortable fit.
- Good fuel supply with moderate consumption.
- Affordable price.
- Possibility of torque control.
In addition, this motorcycle will delight owners with a modern electronic instrument panel with orange backlighting, a tamper-proof ignition switch, and bright, modern direction indicators with an audible buzzer. Some models are equipped with a vehicle title and a trunk.
Design
The Racer 300 Ranger motorcycle comes off the assembly line in 4 colors. For lovers of the classics there is a stylish monochrome. The most non-staining option is brown-black. For those who want to stand out from the gray mass, models with orange and acid green “colors” are offered.
The front panel is simple, but all the data on the tachometer and digital screen is clearly visible. There are two USB connectors on the side.
LED rear brake light and turn signals. There is additional lighting: when you press the brake, a strip on the side of the body and the tachometer light up. The headlights are adjustable to adjust the direction of light to your liking.
Modifications "Racer Ranger"
The motorcycle in question has several modifications. They are all made to look like a sports bike, differing in some technical characteristics and design. Below are their brief characteristics.
- Racer Enduro. This is a classic version of a pit bike, with an engine capacity of 150 cubic centimeters. It is characterized by good performance for its data and high cross-country ability. The vehicle is designed for driving on a dirt road; it does not behave particularly confidently on asphalt.
- Racer Skyway. This modification is equipped with a four-stroke engine with one cylinder and a volume of 200 cc. cm. The sports motorcycle has a modern design, behaves confidently on city and country roads, and has a 10-liter fuel tank. The unit is easy to maintain and has a harmonious combination of weight, speed and power. Perfect for beginner motorcyclists.
Similar models
- Irbis TTR 250. Reliable, durable and unpretentious bike for about the same price as the Racer Enduro 200.

- Stels 250 Enduro. This model has already proven itself on the Russian market on the most positive side.
Owner reviews of a motorcycle from China
Racer Ranger 200, reviews of which can be found on various interactive resources, is perfect for both city driving and traveling outside the city. First of all, the owners note the optimal combination of quality and price. This motorcycle, of course, does not reach the professional level, but it was also designed for other purposes. You can safely go hunting, traveling or fishing on it. Excellent design, good fuel supply, efficiency and unpretentiousness - these are the main advantages of the unit in question from China.
The fact that the production of the Racer Ranger brand bike has been established in Russia adds optimism. After all, now spare parts, consumables and motorcycle repairs will become even more accessible. In their reviews, the owners note that the equipment performs its main functionality perfectly. If you make some modifications, then for a lower price you can get an equal analogue to your Japanese competitors.
Correction of Chinese-Russian jambs
A plan was developed to improve it. First, the bike was completely disassembled, oiled and reassembled. By the way, this procedure must be done with any motorcycle, no matter whether it is China, Japan or Austria. Interesting fact, the bushings were progressively rusty from the factory
