Kawasaki motorcycles are creations that need no introduction.

Kawasaki is one of the world's largest corporations producing various types of products. For more than a hundred years of history, the company has produced sea vessels, airplanes, helicopters, robots, tractors, jet skis, trains, aircraft engines and even weapons. For example, it was at the Kawasaki plant that the first Japanese submarine was created.

The world's first jet ski was also assembled here. This happened back in 1973 and became a real sensation.

Kawasaki motorcycle history

Our most famous products from Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd are motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles of various types. In 1975, the company began producing motorcycles in the United States.

The history of this corporation goes back decades of research, trial and error, and grandiose discoveries. The technology implemented by Kawasaki engineers was often the first of its kind. People here have always been able to create, invent, and not just copy the work of their colleagues.

Kawasaki motorcycles have always had excellent performance. More than once they managed to become the best.

“With the purchase of a motorcycle, everything changed in my life.” Nailya and her Kawasaki Ninja 250R scrambler

Nailya is a designer, athlete, motorcyclist and just a beauty. A couple of years ago I bought myself a 250 cc sportbike and turned it into a project in the form of a mixture of two styles - a scrambler and a café racer. Now he travels from “white flies” to “white flies” and cannot imagine himself without two-wheeled equipment.

“In the sky there is only talk about the sea and the sunset...” The borders are closed, we have only one sea left - the Minsk. It was here that we met Nailya and listened to her story about her passion for two-wheeled vehicles.

“For me, a motorcycle is not about speed, it’s about the thrill. I don't like driving fast. When you drive fast, then, firstly, it is dangerous, and secondly, you cannot see anything on the sides. I love to drive beautifully and with pleasure.

It all started when I just saw a picture on the Internet. I didn’t understand then, custom is not custom, “stock” is not “stock”. I liked it, I printed it out and hung it in my room. This is how the dream was born. It was a custom BMW R Ninet motorcycle. That is, I already liked custom motorcycles then. Two years ago in March, I received a category “B” license and thought: why not get a category “A” license as well? And in August I already passed on them.

I am a short girl, it was difficult for me to choose a motorcycle. I consulted on the forum with fellow motorcyclists. They recommended one of the options - a small-capacity sportbike Kawasaki Ninja 250R. He is light - 170 kilograms, nimble, but you can’t call him slow. It is recommended to many as their first motorcycle.

The 250 cc two-cylinder engine develops 33 horsepower and accelerates the motorcycle to 180 kilometers per hour. It is liquid cooled, but instead of injection it has a regular carburetor. The motorcycle was produced in 2008, that is, not the oldest. How much does he “eat”, how much does he “rush”? It “eats” 5 liters per “hundred”, I accelerated to 140 on it, I don’t need any more, the tires don’t allow it. It is light, and at speed it begins to sway from the wind.

Outwardly, it looks good even in stock, but I decided to make a custom project, combining two styles - a scrambler and a café racer. What was done? All plastic was removed, the tail was cut off (shortened), off-road tires were installed, the cage and license plate holder were welded, and the radiator was replaced with a larger one. Now there is a new exhaust, an exhaust manifold in thermal tape. He roars, so I roll the motorcycle into the yard with my hands at night. The digital dashboard was installed from an M1NSK X250, and the headlights were taken from the Soviet Voskhod 3M motorcycle. Lowered clip-ons were installed, “cosmetics” were done: mirrors, fenders, turn signals and handles were replaced, the seat was reupholstered.

I use the motorcycle almost all spring, summer and fall. Although I also have a Chrysler Sebring convertible. But I prefer a motorcycle to a car - it is a more comfortable form of transport for me. I feel the size, I can get from point A to point B faster. And most importantly, it’s very cool.

People ask me how I can drive in such cold weather. I don't look at the temperature. I think I also went when it was “zero.” But since I drive calmly, there is no danger in this. The usual situation is to get wet and drive.

Of course, people in the city pay attention to me. The motorcycle is stylish, and it’s unusual that a girl is driving it. We look great together. There were no particularly dangerous situations on the road. Usually they let everyone through, wave their hand, there is no negativity, more often I encounter positivity. It happened that they wouldn’t let us through between the rows in a traffic jam, but this was rare. BMW drivers sometimes want to race, but I don't have a particularly powerful bike, and I'm not interested in racing - it's not safe.

With the purchase of a motorcycle, everything changed in my life. I made new friends, a new social circle. I started traveling differently: I choose places where I can ride a motorcycle. I look at nature differently, I have become closer to it. If you are in doubt whether to take a motorcycle or not, take it. This is a sea of pleasure, a sea of buzz. And you will definitely discover something new in yourself.

“You stand on the shore and feel the salty smell of the sea...” Remember these lines from the movie “Knockin' on Heaven's Door”? The main thing is that dreams come true. I dreamed of going to the sea on a motorcycle - and last October my dream came true on the Baltic coast. I was driving right next to the water, waves were flooding the wheels, and tears were flooding my face. It was incredibly beautiful. The adventure was still something to remember in old age.”
