Everyone who prefers motorcycles, sooner or later, will think about how to get a bike that has the character and soul of a wild mustang. Naturally, even beginners dream about this, but in fact, not everyone is ready to drive a model whose power reaches 100 hp. After all, 125 cc models are very convenient and comfortable to drive, 250 cc models are not much different from them, but 600 cc motorcycles are already models that require a special attitude and experience of a biker with confident driving. A mistake while driving can cost your life, so be careful and try not to be a hero on the road.
Triumph Daytone 600
The British, after a cool attitude towards the TT 600 model, created Daytone. And like the previous model, it looked a bit like the CBR F4, so the Daytona is a completely new styling direction. The bike has definitely benefited from the aggressiveness, with a dynamically designed chess set up at the front with big lights, a nicely carved tank and a nice tail. The new Triumph motorcycle was slightly faster than its predecessor and it performed quite well - it combined sporting aspirations with comfort similar to what we know from the CBR. The Daytona's engine produces 112 hp and its work culture has improved significantly. Top speed hovers at 250 km/h.
Fun fact: The Daytona 650 was created in 2005 and was on the market for just one year.
Minuses? The cockpit is a little worse than Japanese motorcycles, the motorcycle is not very popular, so it is difficult to hunt for cool art. But it is also more competitively priced than Japanese designs.
Sportbikes
Chinese sportbikes are a very vague category. The fact is that a sports motorcycle a priori must be high-tech and powerful, but the Chinese produce ordinary road bikes that simply imitate sports motorcycles due to their appearance and modified fit. The PRC does not produce full-fledged sportbikes as such, but it should be noted that Chinese motorcycles of this class will still be a good choice for those who have a limited budget and who want to switch to a full-fledged sportbike in the future. A similar fit and other nuances help develop the necessary skills and gain experience.
The Minsk R250 looks interesting. It has nothing in common with the old Minsks except the name, and it is assembled in Belarus from Chinese units. For the money - a very good bike, worthy of inclusion in the top best Chinese motorcycles
Also worth a look are the Patron Sport 250 and the Zongshen ZS250GS, an old-fashioned but time-tested Chinese sportbike. But it is better to avoid less common models like the Genata YZF-R 250 - spare parts for them are very difficult to find, and the quality, according to reviews, leaves much to be desired
Honda CBR 600 F4i
The CBR 600 F4i is the least sporty bike on our list today - it's the only one with a full bench - although F4 fans can also buy the S version, which is sportier looking and a kilo lighter.
The CBR engine gives us 109bhp of power and is one of those engines on which Honda has built its reputation for reliable motorcycles. Yes, you can complain about the timing belt tensioner or voltage regulator - but these are minor things. There are a lot of good things to say about these engines and machines because many people choose these devices to perform their stunts.
Don't be fooled by the convenient layout of the controls - the F4i, as befits a sports segment, can accelerate to 250 km/h. The motorcycle is also ideal for everyday use, it is not afraid of motorways, as well as exits to the track - although it is not specifically made for riding. This fact did not prevent Honda from conquering the market, and currently among the used cars is CBR'ki brylują.
Reading the bike post and watching thematic videos on YouTube, I came to the realization that the times when sportbikes were considered cool and desirable for most people were either a thing of the past or never came at all. So now I have to read comments about how terrible a liter sportbike is and how difficult it is to handle it and it would be better if they didn’t go to the road at all, but rode inside a track fenced with a thick concrete wall. This time, below will be the impressions of someone who purchased a Honda CBR1000RR Litersport out of curiosity and financial capabilities, and not out of passion and vocation. If next time I don’t have enough money for a sports tourist, I’ll buy a chopper, no, really, honestly. As usual, it all started in the spring with viewing advertisements for the author and Avito. Of course, having only 150-200 thousand rubles at my disposal, it is very problematic to buy anything other than a tired six hundred, and therefore I expected that I would take out a loan for half the cost of the moto. And even so, the coveted sports tourists zzr1400, vfr1200, k1300s cost a lot more, only 600 thousand (and this is for a 10-11 year old motorcycle). I had thoughts about the honfa vfr 800 being a bit weak for luggage with a passenger, but having reasoned that I couldn’t take a vacation to pay off the loan, I wouldn’t have any serious long-distance travel. Otherwise, you can take a cheaper liter sport and calmly skate the season and finally satisfy your curiosity, but if next time you don’t have enough money, I’ll take it and try a chopper. Skipping the details of the search, I will say that I chose the Honda CBR1000RR 2006. 178 hp A deuce for driving After the purchase, it was about 140 km to get home, and at first I drove calmly, barely touching the gas, and already on the toll highway section I gave vent to my feelings. I was so overcome that I forgot about everything, that first I had to refuel, that I was not yet familiar with the motorcycle, that I had missed almost two seasons and my driving skills were no longer the same and that sitting on it was not very comfortable. - for being tall. In general, two thirds of the journey passed as if in a dream, I still can’t really remember them, I only remember the sound of the wind, the roar of the engine and my delight. I came to my senses only at the checkpoint, and in a very unusual way. It was not possible to slip behind the truck; the nimble barrier came down too quickly, and I, in the best traditions of Indian films, slipped under it lying on my side. Damn, damn, damn! I knew that it was not just slippery, but very slippery because of the smooth tiles and leaking oil! I knew that the barrier was soft and there was no need to slow down. I just bought it and already fell, but the arches, sliders and equipment did their job, and therefore only my pride suffered. Without wasting a second, I stood up, picked up the bike and rode as if it was intended. Upon arrival, I changed the oil and spent the next week stubbornly doing gymkhana on an improvised platform in order to revive my motor skills. Despite the cool May weather, the training sessions turned out to be hot; the moth warmed himself, hinting that parking in front of Okey was not his element.
Drawing - there was a photo from the other side, and now there will be a photo from this one
And where can you ride a litresport? Outside the city, it wasn’t all smooth sailing either, traffic has increased greatly in recent years, and so that no one would be disturbed, I went out of town at 4 am on a weekend to try out the motorcycle to the fullest. But that was not the case, the highway was not free, there were a lot of sleepy drivers in the left lane, driving 110 km/h, and plus a bunch of traffic police officers literally standing at every convenient corner. I was a little surprised, but everything was obvious - patrols caught drunk and carousing drivers, and the cars either headed to the Black Sea or returned back. So it didn’t turn out to be a tough produbas, the Mentos had no time for me, but sleepy drivers are really unpredictable. Well, okay, I rode quietly and went on to bed at 7 am. The longest trip turned out to be Voronezh-Lipetsk-Usman-Voronezh, I was not driving fast and therefore the gas consumption was only 7-8 liters per hundred, but if you drive in hard driving mode it turns out to be 12-13 liters. Along the same road I looked into the park 《Kudykina Gora》 every year it gets better and better. Picture - Dragon on Kudykina Mountain Country trips are of course great, but I didn’t want to join the Order of the Knights of the Square Tire, so I had to look for a track where I could take turns without fear of flying into a fence, curb, ravine and other things harmful to health lovely. The only such place in Voronezh turned out to be a karting track. On the way to him, I met a CBR600F4, so the two of us went to pay the fare for one hundred rubles to the buharik watchman, and at the exit from the closet we were met by a pack of dogs, who were waiting in anticipation for us to get on the bikes. As soon as we started the engine, about 20 motley dogs rushed towards us barking, hoping to pinch off at least a piece, it’s good that everything worked out because if you chase two birds with one stone, you won’t catch anyone, but an unpleasant aftertaste remained. The track itself is short and not particularly wide, the asphalt is broken in some places, and somewhere there is sand left over from dried up puddles. There is plenty of first gear there, but the bike was getting very hot, so I tried to make laps in second, paying attention only to cornering. Despite the general slop level of the cartometer and the woolly assholes, the time passed with pleasure, although after looking for a full tank there, the desire to return there did not arise. Plans to try the Belgorod karting track failed miserably due to lack of finances, and a trip to the track in Nizhny Novgorod remains in the dream section for now. Over the entire summer I drove 4 thousand kilometers, 90% of which were on country roads, the remaining 10% was spent getting out of the city.
Drawing - One liter is good, but two is better!
Feelings What did I feel as the owner of a liter sport? And here’s what: - driving at low speeds is simply terrible, up to 3000 rpm the engine almost stalls in first gear(who says it’s because of the forward flow, the motorcycle master says that this is how it should be, but I'm just driving); -at 3000 rpm you get a powerful jerk-kick, no matter how smoothly you open the gas; -at 5000 rpm everything that is possible vibrates, everything that is screwed on poorly immediately unscrews and starts ringing; -wheelie at 6000 rpm if you open the gas in first gear by more than 1/2; -at 11 thousand revolutions there’s another kick, just to have time to engage second before going into the red zone; -taking off abruptly from a standstill is quite boring, but opening full throttle already on the move is just a holiday and teleportation; -the front brakes are grippy and on weakly heated tires on average asphalt, during sharp braking there will be a stoppage, and not a stall of the front wheel. Whose merit is it - tires, suspension, brakes are not important or interesting to me; - in general the motorcycle behaves very collectedly, there are no swings or wobbles in corners, there is always a feeling of reliability and readiness to fulfill any whim; - in the city the motorcycle gets very hot, the fan hot air constantly thrashes, melting the balls; -at low speeds my hands get tired, but this is not critical, but the lack of low-end and kick-3000 cause trouble when maneuvering; -traffic jams break through, but I’m too lazy to disperse motorists by revving up. Drivers for the most part see or hear me and give in, especially in the fall, even if I don’t need it; - evening city - from the windows of neighboring cars the macaws ask to do a wheelie, and the rare girls wave their hand and smile; - it’s much more fun on the highway; - on long trips your legs get numb, but if you climb onto the tank and ride like that for five minutes, your legs will rest, and upon return, the saddle pleasantly surprises you with its comfort; - track is not a dream come true for most domestic sportsmen and I am no exception. It's far away and very, very expensive. A broken down karting track doesn't count.
And a little moral Well, that seems to be all, all that remains is to add that those who claim that a sportbike belongs only on the track are very disingenuous. Your sports jacket can become a motorcycle for every day, but it’s just not very comfortable. And all the talk about excess and dangerous power is empty chatter, the same as talking about the redundancy of the brakes (you can over-brake and fall) or the over-precision of the steering wheel (suddenly you turn the steering wheel too much at speed). Now even classic motorcycles and fat choppers have much more power than is required for a quiet ride. If you love jet power at high speeds, a beautiful and bright appearance, and also consider a sportbike to be the best motorcycle in the world, then you’re great! And now hurry up and buy the evil cbr1000rr from me, otherwise it’s already boring to drive around the neighborhood and I’ll have to ride it to Georgia for the May holidays, but my knees and back obviously won’t like it :)
Kawasaki ZX6R
In 2000, the new Kawasaki ZX6R debuted - finally, one might say, because the old model was already outdated. The new version was stylistically reminiscent of the ZX9R and 12-tke, more than the current Golf Passat. It offered the same power as the Triumph, but the character of the machine was decidedly more aggressive, with the Kawasaki being more assertive when accelerating, having longer gears, better brakes and a decidedly sportier stance.
In 2003, the first version of the 636 debuted, still in the old barn but with a completely new engine, increasing power to around 120 hp. At the moment this is a really cool motorcycle at a reasonable price. Of course, you should be careful to buy a model that has been properly treated and has not been used in tricks.
Suzuki GSXR 600 K1-k3
At the same time as Kawasaki, the new 600 cm Gixxer class debuted. The Suzuki engine produces 115 hp, propelling the car to 263 km/h. Despite its oval shape, the GSX-R is a lighter design than the CBR by as much as 7 kg.
The GSX-R, like the Kawasaki, gives us a tight, sporty stance at the controls. The long and cracked tank forces us to lean over, and the windshield does a pretty good job of blocking the wind. Suzuki sport bikes are considered classic sports bikes that are capable of much - if maintained correctly.
Yamaha R6
The king of motorcycles from the golden period of the sport, the 600 series. The Yamaha R6 debuted in 1999 and immediately created a frenzy in the womb, even among the male group. A beautiful, light, compact and very sharp sports car. The halls were buzzing - Yamaha had done a great job and this period was undoubtedly theirs.
The R6, although slightly heavier than the Gixx, offered 5 hp more. more, he loved to take turns and roared at the same time as in rage. To achieve this, it has an excellent braking system and good suspension.
The best 600cc sports motorcycles
Master a sports bike without harming yourself and others, without being left behind liter beauties, or just confidently move around the city - there are some 600 cc models that will allow you to do this.
They are well-known to many, have excellent characteristics and an impeccable reputation:
- Honda CBR 600 RR is a seven-time champion in the Supersport category, the owner of a 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed transmission. Give it 3 seconds and it will accelerate to hundreds. The CBR 600 RR was produced from 1987 to 2008, gradually increasing power. So the latest releases demonstrate what 118 hp is capable of.
- Suzuki GSX-R600 is an “athlete”, accelerating up to 259 km/h. Externally, it is practically no different from its “big brother” GSX-R1000. The 600th “Jixer” has the same broken shapes and daring design. Equipped with a 4-cylinder engine that will require 6 liters of gasoline for every 100 km.
- Yamaha YZF-R6 is the legendary “Japanese” that continues to improve. The latest version rolled off the production line in 2021 and pleased fans with improved aerodynamics, new ABS and traction control. Acceleration to 100 km takes 3 seconds, and the top speed is 260 km/h. The YZF-R6 excels in tight corners and is a three-time world champion in the Supersport category for good reason.
These “athletes” have repeatedly proven that they are the best, both on the race track and on the road. They are ideal for both professionals and those who continue to improve their driving technique.
Development concept
During the design of the next generation of the popular CBF600, the development team made significant improvements in ease of operation, comfort and environmental compliance.
One of the most important aspects in the implementation of the planned changes was the reduction in weight, which manifests itself not only in faster acceleration, but also in easier handling, which helps to increase the confidence of the motorcyclist on the road
It was also extremely important to provide the CBF600 with an engine and chassis that would meet the demands of the times.
Equipping the CBF600 with the latest technology was also a priority, for which the CBF development team turned to Honda's recently launched CBR600RR and CB600F Hornet. From these models, the CBF received a lighter and more compact four-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection. This engine has been specially tuned for short and medium distance travel, which will allow beginners to feel confident in handling, and professionals to fully appreciate all the advantages of the motorcycle. Further weight reduction and easier handling required a new chassis, which is why the team turned to the CB600F Hornet, adapting its innovative Mono-Backbone cast aluminum frame to suit the CBF's more relaxed handling style.
In fact, the CBF600's styling isn't all that different from its predecessor, and almost everything else about the CBF is new, including things like:
New lighter, more compact and faster-performing direct injection engine, based on the engines developed in 2007 for the CBR600RR and CB600F Hornet. New cast aluminum Mono-Backbone frame to reduce weight. 41mm telescopic, adjustable fork. New lighter front fairing design for a sportier look. New version of integral ABS for maximum braking control. Security system with HISS immobilizer. Full compliance with strict EURO-3 pollution requirements. And much more…
While all of the above helps inexperienced CBF600S owners get the most out of their motorcycle riding experience, this unique mid-engined machine continually develops riding skills and confidence on the road, allowing CBF600S owners to know they have made the right choice and that the motorcycle will serve them well for many years to come.
With confidence-inspiring smooth and responsive handling, a customizable seat and a variety of cargo-carrying options, the 2009 CBF600S has everything owners need to make riding a motorcycle enjoyable. With its more attractive looks and always friendly demeanor, the CBF600S is designed to appeal to an even wider range of riders with different tastes and riding styles.
Which 600cc motorcycle is good for a beginner?
With comfort and no surprises - these are the requirements that novice motorcyclists make when purchasing. Typically, this behavior is expected from small-capacity equipment. As for 600 cc motorcycles, according to experienced bikers and instructors, they are the limit for a beginner, and then only some not the most aggressive models:
- Honda Hornet CB 600 is a comfortable and stylish bike with a sports CBR 600 engine, a 6-speed gearbox and 102 horsepower. It is somewhat inferior in characteristics to its sports brother, but it listens perfectly to a rider, even one who is not very experienced.
- Yamaha FZ6 - like the previous model, at its heart lies the derated engine of its sports brother, in this case the YZF-R6. Suitable for both sports and tourism. It has laconic, streamlined shapes.
Enduro and tourenduro
Imagine a motocross motorcycle with a molded 600 cc engine! The result will be a real monster, angry and rebellious, which is why a similar technique exists, but it is only used by motocross professionals. And regular enduros are usually equipped with smaller engines, around 400 cc. see, because an increase in cubic capacity inevitably entails an increase in mass, which is critical when driving off-road. Attempts to create a large enduro have been made, for example, the Suzuki DR800 S Big, equipped with a huge single-cylinder engine that vibrates like a “Friendship” chainsaw. But this model was not popular, so off-road bikes to this day, with rare exceptions, are equipped with engines of smaller capacity.
If you are not interested in even the best road motorcycles, but in your dreams you see endless steppes and mountain paths, you should pay attention to the tourenduro. Motorcycles of this class are usually distinguished by their large weight, powerful power units and large size, but there are also lightweight fighters among them
The most popular models are the Honda XL600V Transalp (there are also motorcycles with 650 cc and 700 cc engines) and the Kawasaki Versys 650. The Chinese from CFMoto have also released their competitor into the ring, offering the public the CFMoto 650MT model. But you can only choose a bike “for yourself” and understand exactly how many cubes you need through experience.
Road Chinese 600 cc motorcycles - a rational choice
If you want to save money and buy a bike purely for the city, you can choose a motorcycle from Chinese road builders. Pay attention to these models:
- Stels 600 Benelli is “Chinese” with Italian roots. At one time, the European brand was bought by a company from the Middle Kingdom. The result is a series of bikes with a modern design. The owners of this model have at their disposal 80 hp, a 6-speed gearbox, a 4-cylinder engine, which in practice turns into an obedient city bike.
- The CFMoto 650 NK is an easy-to-ride, powerful road bike that accelerates to 180 km/h. It is based on a 2-cylinder engine. The model is quite comfortable, suitable for both boys and girls who want to quickly and noticeably move between rows of cars.
Yamaha V-Max – 197.4 hp at 9,000 thousand rpm
Another motorcycle legend, the V-Max model. Despite its very strange roots in the intricacies of which obvious signs of incest are visible, this model of a sportbike shows quite good results time after time. Its huge 1.679 cc engine easily produces 197.4 hp. at 9,000 thousand rpm. The Americans received such indicators during their measurement tests. In terms of torque, this 1.6 liter engine was head and shoulders above all other competitors.
The only negative about this V-Max model, which is logical, is that it is excessively heavy.

Among the mass of motorcycles that Honda offers today, we get from the “classic six hundred” models CBF600SA and CB600FA Hornet. Unlike the well-known “CB” of the 90s, the new generation can be called “highly advanced”, although the legendary handling of the previous CBs still remains unsurpassed; it’s not for nothing that in many motorcycle schools abroad you can often still find CBs in the role of the educational apparatus. What is attractive about motorcycles in this series today? Handling, which even a neophyte will seem “primitive” and safe, but at the same time, even the elder will find a lot of tasty things in these motorcycles, mainly thanks to the engine and suspension.

The motor is approximately the same, but the power and torque are increased. Refers to nikes, that is, “naked.” But, in principle, it is suitable for both the city and the highway. The “push and push” of the engine, as well as a rigid frame and good brakes make this motorcycle desirable for those who like to ride fast in different conditions.
Suzuki
Suzuki Bandit © Photo: Suzuki
If we talk about Suzuki, then you can’t do without the “Bandit”, although the displacement here exceeds 600 cubic meters, almost the volume of a scooter’s engine, which can be driven without a license. The engines of this motorcycle, which can be bought from us in the GSF650SA and GSF650A versions, have a glorious pedigree and no less decent external characteristics. Good torque and maximum power, coupled with a good frame and suspension, also allow it to be used both as a city motorcycle (Street) and as a space eater on the highway.
Kawasaki ZX-14R (ZZR1400) – 207.9 hp at 10,000 thousand rpm
It was number one last time and remains so to this day. This did not cause any particular problems for the ZX-14R sportbike; 2021 will further show whether the hegemony of this sportbike will continue in the future.
The ZX-14R sportbike model, known in Europe as the ZZR1400 model, may be an atavism from the point of view of thinking of the ongoing “battles” of the maximum speeds of the Blackbird/Busa/ZX-12R model motorbike, the turn of the current millennium, but no one has any doubts about its effectiveness No.
Power is not the most important thing in a motorcycle. So, it is quite possible that the most powerful sportbike of all may not show the most impressive results on the motorcycle track. But nevertheless, an additional 10 horses can always be useful on straight sections, where it would be difficult to find an equal to the ZX-14R sports bike.
Yamaha
Yamaha XJ6 Diversion © Photo: Yamaha
In the class of road motorcycles, Yamaha positions us with three models at once. This, oddly enough, is VMax (a separate song in terms of the classification of this motorcycle, which dates back to the previous model of the 1980s), as well as FZ1, FZ8 and XJ6. Today we are only interested in the 600 cc XJ6 model, also known as “Diversion”. We sell it in two versions, like many “classics” from other manufacturers - with and without a body kit. The body kit is quite conventional compared to sports models, but it is quite enough to feel good at high speeds.
Yamaha XJ6 Diversion © Photo: Yamaha
The controllability of the XJ6 allows it to be successfully used by both beginners and motorcycle elders, because for a neophyte it is simple, but for an experienced driver it allows them to unlock their full potential and race well if desired. Good torque, a comfortable fit and a good seat allow you to use the XJ6 not only for short distances, but also for long distances. The bike handles well and has enough comfort to keep you feeling fresh after a long ride. In short, the XJ6 is a good choice both as a first motorcycle and as a daily vehicle for those who are already tired of the nervousness of “sports”.

List of the most powerful sportbikes
Even the most accurate measurements may have hypothetical errors
It may be minuscule and, by its principle in practical terms, it may not be so important technically, but its existence will nevertheless be known, which for, say, idealists themselves can become a serious obstacle
We all understand that any technique loves precision. It is certainly required both in technical calculations of vehicles and in their specific production. No less important here is the accuracy in providing the technical characteristics of this vehicle, namely, what are the dimensions of the car, how much it weighs, what is its power and what is the torque. It is with the latter that problems most often arise.
Very often, if not almost always, the declared power by a car manufacturer differs strikingly from the real one (or, more precisely, from what is measured on a dyno stand), and in the direction of overestimating the former. It may initially seem that selfish manufacturers are trying to inflate these figures in order to increase the value of their equipment compared to the same competitors. But in reality this is far from the case. It’s just that when conducting factory testing, so many variable values are taken into account that it is very, very difficult to track all of them on a regular dynamometer, or it (the dynamometer) is simply not able to show them.
One of the many American automobile sites conducted its research on a dynamometer, setting the power of motorcycles in 2015, on the basis of which it made conclusions about the approximate discrepancy between its measurements and factory power measurements. Next, they compiled a detailed report-rating of the ten most powerful bikes of the past 2015.
Before we dive into this definitive list, we want to make a quick footnote.
The presented figures are typical for motorcycle models created specifically for the American market. In European and even more so in Japanese bike models, this power may differ slightly.
Power was measured based on independently performed tests.
