Baltmotors is a Russian company located in Kaliningrad. Since 2004, it has been collecting motorcycles and ATVs under its own brand. And also offers the user components and accessories.
The production is based on parts from China . It is not surprising that the S1, a road bike presented by the company in 2011, in appearance and in its contents, resembles the YBR125 , on which many of them studied in courses.
Unlike the prototype, production continues.

Baltmotors motorcycles
Motorcycles Motorcycles Baltmotors
The Baltmotors company was founded back in 2004. At first, the company assembled scooters, for which all spare parts were provided by the Chinese company QINGQI.
Today Baltmotors has become a well-known and popular company. In Russia, the company is one of three manufacturers that have their own motorcycle assembly plant. Baltmotors is also among the top ten companies selling motorcycles.
Over the years, Baltmotors has created many popular pieces of equipment, for example: Baltmotors-SMC ATVs, Motard and Enduro, Street and Classic motorcycles, as well as scooters such as Galactica, Hiker and Joy. Every year more than 10 thousand copies of reliable motorcycles roll off the company's assembly line.
Motorcycles, scooters and ATVs of the Baltmotors brand can be purchased in more than thirty cities of Russia; the equipment is presented through service centers and dealer showrooms. The company's central production facility is located in Kaliningrad. Baltmotors employs more than 100 qualified craftsmen, and its warehouse and production capacity totals about 7,000 sq. m. meters.
Baltmotors provides warranty support to all customers. Prophete GmbH is a co-owner and important strategic partner of the company. This is a well-known German company that produces bicycles and motorcycles that are popular throughout Europe.
Baltmotors motorcycles have become the hallmark of the company, because such reliable equipment is simply in great demand. Since 2010, Baltmotors has been cooperating with HSUN, a successful Chinese company producing motorcycle spare parts. Also this year, production of “all-terrain vehicles” of the side-by-side system began, with engine capacities ranging from modest 400 to ambitious 800 cc. cm..
The Baltmotors company also actively cooperates with Japanese and Taiwanese manufacturers of motor vehicles and components. Thus, in 2011, an exclusive agreement was signed with Standard Motor Corporation (a Taiwanese manufacturer). This year also marked the launch of a new ATV from the Baltmotors-SMC series, namely the Jumbo 700.
Baltmotors produces reliable motorcycles at excellent prices, and since 2012 the production of 250 cc motorcycles has been started. Also this year, the production of small-capacity ATVs, the Jam 100 model, began. The power of this “quad” is 7.9 horsepower, which makes it easy to operate and very unpretentious to look after.
Driving performance
Users still argue about the maximum speed of the model. The developers are more relaxed, stating that it is equal to 110 km/h .
Acceleration to maximum in 12 seconds . Up to 100 km/h - 10 sec . Measured using GPS.
Fuel consumption
Regarding consumption, the developers provide the following figures. Urban conditions 2.5 l , mixed - 2.4 l . Users correct. For the city 3.5 l , and for the highway 2.5 l per 100 km .
FAQ
- How interchangeable are parts between 125cc and 200cc models? The interchangeability is partial, since, in addition to the engine, there are plenty of other differences.
- Are spare parts from the Chinese suitable for the Baltmotors Street 125 DD? Yes, you can find suitable parts, but you have to select them in practice; there are no compatibility tables.
- Is it worth looking at this motorcycle with a height of about 190 and a weight of about 100 kg? It is possible, but it will most likely be cramped and not very comfortable.
Dimensions and weight
The weight of the equipped bike and filled with all fluids is 115 kg . If we take into account the 13-liter gas tank and oil, it turns out that the dry weight will be LESS than 100 kg .
Interestingly, in some publications - 115 kg dry weight .
The dimensions are not so impressive:
- in length - 2,020 mm;
- width - 720 mm;
- in height - 1,170 mm.
Seat height - 750 mm.
Wheelbase - 1295 mm
Ground clearance - 160 mm.
For whom is it intended?
If we remember that the manufacturer is Russian, the question posed in the title does not arise. For the average resident of the Russian Federation.
The obvious purpose of the Baltmotors S1 is the first motorcycle in life or as a means of transportation in city traffic jams.
Even tall users who doubted the appropriate saddle height for them noted that the bike was surprisingly comfortable and comfortable, as much as it could be on a motorcycle of this size.
Repair and tuning
The structurally simple Baltmotors Street 125 DD is easy to repair and maintain . For obvious reasons, there is no specialized tuning for it, but there are plenty of universal Chinese-made options.
Repair
Any beginner can understand the design of the bike; it is very simple and at the same time logical from a design point of view. Even without a manual, you can assemble and disassemble it right in the garage, if only you had the tools, straight arms and desire. Maintenance is even less difficult.
Spare parts
This is a headache for all owners of Baltmotors Street 125. Even when the bike was released, dealers had almost no spare parts in stock, and sometimes it took several months to wait for them to order. Now, years after the model was discontinued, many components are completely impossible to find on sale, so you have to look for them “by hand.”
Tuning
Usually, owners of the Street 125DD are limited to minor cosmetic changes - grips, footpegs, stickers and similar little things. This is partly due to the reluctance to invest money in a cheap motorcycle that will be sold in a season or two, and partly due to the lack of need to tune it. He's pretty good anyway.
Competitors (comparison)
The main and only competitor for the bike was the Japanese Yamaxa YBR125, in whose image and likeness it was made.
But there are still differences between them.
- The Japanese has a straight fork, the S1 has an inverted fork.
- There is 1 mono shock absorber at the rear, versus a pair for the Russian version.
- 2 valves per cylinder, versus 4.
- Injector (on latest versions for Europe) versus carburetor .
- There are also a few minor cosmetic differences - windshield angle, front fender length, taillight design, and more.
In addition, we should not forget that with all Russian solutions - the parts come from China - therefore, motorcycles from the Middle Kingdom can also be included in the line of comparisons. But if you do this, the article will grow to astronomical proportions.
Pros and cons of Baltmotors Street 200 DD
Advantages
- Confident traction at low and medium speeds , and generally good acceleration dynamics by the standards of the class.
- Design . The bike looks like a real “adult” device. There is none of the usual Chinese cheapness in his appearance.
- Modern pendants . They work quite well even with a passenger.
- Great brakes , better than almost any other bike in the same price range.
Flaws
- Weak headlight . On unlit night roads it is noticeably lacking.
- Heavy weight . The weight of Baltmotors Street 200 is about 140 kg, which is a little too much for a small-capacity vehicle.
- The starter is located at the front, in front of the engine, and when it rains, all the water from under the short front fender flies into it.
Flaws
The engine crankcase is one of the weak points of the motorcycle. The problem is solved by installing protection from the same YBR 125.
- Motorcycle for one . Apart from the short saddle, the seating of two negates the whole dynamic.
- The switch is a miscalculation of the developers; it does not always cope with the voltage appearing in the bike’s network.
- Accessories . Compatibility with the details of the designer's prototype was deliberately abandoned. But if you need anything, it’s better to contact the factory right away. Local stores usually don't have them.
and dignity
- Big tank . With low consumption, the bike allows you to cover more than 400 km on one fill-up.
- Good handling.
- Maneuverability.
- The narrow base and small width will allow you to maneuver well in traffic jams.
- Clearance that allows you to jump onto the curb without fear of damaging the plastic.
- Friendliness , forgiveness of mistakes.
- Light weight that even biker girls can handle.
The red line running through all the reviews is that the assembly is Russian, but the parts are from China. Whether this is a plus or a minus is up to the user to decide.
Design
While most motorcycle manufacturers from China continue to persistently copy famous Japanese motorcycles, trying to give their crafts at least an external resemblance to the products of famous brands, the Baltmotors company took a different path. The Street 125 DD model looks fresh, attractive and original. And there is no pretentiousness, even the gilded fork stays and the general aggressiveness of the silhouette do not give the bike the appearance of a parody of an “adult” streetfighter. The BM Street 125 DD is both flashy enough to attract attention on the road and modest enough not to pretend to be something it is not.
