Shock absorbers IZH and the like - design and repair.

Types of front struts

All car struts operate using a special working fluid. Based on the substance used in the cylinder device, front shock absorber struts can be divided into three main types:

  1. Oil or hydraulic. They are effective when traveling within the city, as well as on country roads.
  2. Gas. They are distinguished by higher rigidity rates. This is the best option for modern sports cars. It is believed that gas structures belong to the category of more modern devices. But if the car often moves on dirt roads, this category of shock absorbers is not very suitable.
  3. Gas-oil. As numerous reviews say, this is the optimal solution for any vehicle. All the positive characteristics of the categories of shock absorbers listed above are present here.

The front and rear pillars are different from each other, so you need to be careful during the purchasing process.

The front ones are slightly higher in length and have a smaller diameter. There are no steering knuckles in the rear shock absorber designs. Additionally, rear struts are much more difficult to replace than front struts.

Device

What does this super useful device consist of? Car shock absorbers consist of the following main parts:

  • cylinder;
  • piston;
  • rod seal;
  • anther;
  • sealing unit;
  • suspension spring cup;
  • stock;
  • mounting hinge;
  • piston valve;
  • bottom valve;
  • rubber o-ring;
  • separating piston-float;
  • sealed bottom;
  • special shock-absorbing liquid (oil) or gas.

Shock absorber diagram
All shock absorbers are similar in appearance and look like a cylinder with a rod moving inside it. At the bottom of the shock absorber housing there is a fastening with which it is connected to the wheel axle. And in MacPherson struts, the device is located inside the strut, which is attached to the wheel hub. There are also fasteners at the top of the device that provide fastening to the body or frame.

How is the shock absorber constructed depending on the internal structure? For example, they can be single-pipe or double-pipe, as well as gas or oil. I note that telescopic oil shock absorbers are most often used.

Let's move on to a description of the types of shock absorbers for a car.

Tuning Izh Planet 5. Preparation.

If you bought an expensive Japanese motorcycle, tuning it will become difficult, and you won’t be able to carry out the upgrade yourself. Do-it-yourself tuning of Izh Planet 5 is quite simple, you will only need to have a small set of equipment and from an old Soviet transport you will get a modern and powerful motorcycle. Any tuning consists of two types - external and internal (change in technical characteristics). Let's look first at the first option, namely modernizing the appearance.

How to choose shock absorbers?

Which ones are harder and which ones are softer? Hydraulic twin-pipe shock absorbers are the softest, but their response is not as great. Therefore, they can effectively handle poor road surfaces.

Gas devices are more rigid, they quickly react to all irregularities on the road, even when driving at high speed. They are most often chosen by most drivers.

Twin-tube shock absorbers are cheaper, softer and more suitable for normal city driving. These devices are less reliable than single-pipe ones.

Video: What is the difference between oil and gas oil shock absorbers

Let's move on to the rating of the best shock absorbers for cars. Let's consider the best models of dampers made in Japan, China, the USA and Europe based on analysis, reviews of auto mechanics and real drivers.

What it is

The first cars used spring suspension, which provided a low level of comfort: when driving on uneven roads, the body swayed. Then the mechanics came up with a special element that would slow down this swing. This is how shock absorbers with friction discs, operating on the basis of dry friction, were born. And in the middle of the last century, having “spied” an idea on aircraft landing gear, craftsmen made oil shock absorbers with a piston, operating on the principle of fluid friction.

The load on the car in the suspension is taken by the spring (spring). This part can perform compression or bending depending on the conditions to prevent oscillatory movements on the body. But there is a minus in springs - when compressed or bent, they form these very vibrations (inertial), which rock the body. The wheels lose contact with the road, which leads to a noticeable deterioration in handling.

To eliminate inertial vibrations, shock absorbers were introduced into the design, which reduce the inertia in the springs. This occurs as a result of the resistance force that absorbs the oscillatory movements.

If the car did not have a shock absorber, then the grip with the road surface would be unstable. Therefore, when the shock absorber is faulty, the wheels begin to “jump” even with slight unevenness, and the control of the car deteriorates significantly even at low speeds.

How many shock absorbers are there in a car? There are only 2 pairs of them: on the running axle and on the rear. Moreover, the front devices are made reinforced due to the increased load.

What are these useful parts for in a car? Rear and front dampers, working together with other suspension parts, serve to perform the following functions:

  1. Reducing vertical vibrations of the body and wheels in any vehicle.
  2. Improving the ride of the car, it becomes smoother.
  3. Improving wheel grip.
  4. Ensuring efficient braking and acceleration.

How should a car's shock absorber work correctly? Shock absorbers must work together with springs, struts, torsion bars and several other parts to reduce vibration as much as possible.

This fluid moves slowly under pressure and flows through small diameter holes. Thus, the shock absorber transmits an impulse to slow down the movement of the springs, and the stronger the suspension swing speed, the higher the resistance. Therefore, when overcoming bumps, active maneuvers, acceleration and braking, body sway is reduced to a minimum. The kinetic energy that is transferred to the shock absorber is converted into thermal energy that is released outside.

How does a shock absorber work?

The shock absorber should not be confused with struts, remember, these are different things. A strut is a set of elements in the suspension, the purpose of which is to securely connect the wheels and the body. The shock absorber is part of the strut.

If the damper fails, you can continue driving, but if the strut breaks, then it is impossible to drive the vehicle. If you hear in a car service that a strut and a shock absorber are the same thing, then you should not trust your car to such “professionals”.

Improvement of technical parameters

Tuning to increase power.

The design of the motorcycle engine allows for tuning to increase its power. One option is to re-press the engine crankshaft and change the support bearings. Usually, secondary shaft bearings from a Java motorcycle were installed as new bearings. This restoration made it possible to achieve an increase in engine power of the IZH Planet - 5 by 10-15%.

The next option for adding power was to increase the cylinder volume. For this purpose, its upper part was cut off and the sleeve was bored to 76 mm. Then the appropriate piston was installed, usually a piston from a Planet Sport motorcycle was used.

Increasing the speed of the motorcycle.

After this operation, the speed of the motorcycle increased, according to some sources, to 160 km per hour. Therefore, work to increase engine capacity was carried out by owners who planned to operate their vehicle mainly on highways.

The most difficult technical tuning option for adding power to the IZH Planet - 5 is the installation of supercharging. For this purpose, an exhaust valve is installed, the device of which corresponds to the analogues on the sports versions.

Then an exhaust resonator is installed, which has sharply directed parameters. Its task is to create a wave backpressure of the fuel mixture. Next, a spool valve is installed to obtain asymmetrical phases of engine operation, which avoids the direct release of the spent mixture.

Performing supercharging on the engine of the Fifth Planet is a rather complex process and therefore is not widely used.

Improved grip.

As engine power increases, it is necessary to carry out work to improve the clutch. Under standard conditions, the standard clutch works reliably.

But as the load increases, the risk of “burning” it and subsequent repairs increases sharply. The main steps for tuning the clutch come down to replacing standard discs with larger metal ones. Typically, such discs are made of two millimeter iron.

The use of thicker metal discs reduces slippage, warping, breakage and provides greater heat transfer.

How to check the shock absorber?

Upon visual inspection, it can be noted that oil from the shock absorber has begun to leak, or the body has begun to fog up. This indicates a seal failure. How can I check this? It is best to remove the devices and bleed them. If this is not possible, then you need to press hard over the pillars (alternately in the 4 corners of the car) and release sharply. If the device is working properly (even partially), then the body will return to its normal position after 1-2 oscillations. If the car rocks for a long time and knocking noises are heard, this means that the shock absorbers are faulty.

The most accurate way to identify faulty shock absorbers is only in specialized car services on a stand (shock tester). At the same time, each axle of the car is rocked and the vibration damping indicator is measured, and then they are compared with the reference values.

External tuning of Izh Planet 5

Often, to improve the appearance, styling of individual elements is used, and let's start with the muffler. Previously, a muffler kit was made, including chrome pipes and various attachments. Having found such a kit, you will not only get a beautiful appearance, but also improve the performance of the exhaust system, and the engine will run even more stable and smoother. Therefore, we recommend starting tuning with the exhaust pipe.

Next, they most often replace the rear shock absorbers by installing a higher size. Raising the motorcycle will significantly reduce the pressure on the engine and gas tank, so replacing the shock absorbers is also necessary. But it is worth considering that for proper operation you will have to balance the wheels. Let's look at other changes in the appearance of IZH Planet 5.

As you can see, tuning Izh Planet 5, photos of which are sufficient, show that there are enough opportunities for modernization, and you can limit yourself not only to the above methods. Almost everything can be changed, it depends on your imagination and desire. Some craftsmen even created a sports body for the motorcycle, thanks to which you can’t even tell that it’s an Izh.

The principle of operation of the front struts

To understand how the front shock absorber struts of a vehicle function, the MX should be divided into two main structural elements - a spring and a shock absorber. They are the ones who put the whole mechanism into action.

Spring

The main element of this part is designed to level out a variety of defects in modern road surfaces. It is also necessary to reduce vibration activity, which is reflected on the body during movement. When moving along a heavily broken road, it is thanks to the spring that the driver only feels the smooth rocking of the car. the spring absorbs the most powerful shocks, that is, completely dampens them.

The metal from which the spring is made must have optimal elasticity. Typically, the steel used is one that is optimally suited for a specific vehicle brand, its weight and general specialization.

The spring is installed with one side in a special cup of the rack, and the other part passes through a rubber spacer, which, in turn, rests against the body.

Shock absorber

This is the stand itself, which, when compared with the same spring, is a more complex part in its design. Here are the most basic design features:

  1. A two-chamber cylinder along which a piston moves, pre-attached to a rod. It is this that is filled with gas or liquid.
  2. The working composition circulates in the inside of both chambers, on the basis of which all struts, like standard shock absorbers, are divided into several types.

The main task of a shock absorber is to dampen vibrations that come from the spring. The depreciation procedure implies a serious increase in the level of pressure generated by the internal part of the part. Its reduction is carried out due to special valves, which are located directly on the piston. Depending on the general position, the elements automatically close and open so as to effectively regulate the applied loads.

Front strut replacement process

If the bearing, upper support and the entire strut as a complete assembly have already served their useful life, there is only one way out - replacing the front shock absorbers. This operation on the front of the car can be done with your own hands.

If the left or right strut is worn out, both will need to be replaced at the same time.

When making a replacement, you must rely on a special repair manual. Despite the fact that there are certain differences in the design of different car brands, the algorithm of action is similar in all cases. The sequence of manipulations here is as follows:

  1. Access to the upper support of the rack is freed. Here you will have to remove the engine compartment seal.
  2. The plug is removed and the fastening nut of the AC rod is unscrewed. You will need a head, as well as an extension with a knob. It is advisable to carry out this operation when the rack itself has not yet been dismantled.
  3. It is worth loosening the wheel fasteners, and then jacking up the car to such a position that the tires do not touch the ground. Here you definitely need to ensure that the jack does not fall off.
  4. The wheel is being removed. Using a metal brush, you need to clean all the structural elements located there. It is advisable to treat them with WD40 and wait for the composition to take effect.
  5. The fastening nut is unscrewed from the installed stabilizer joint (read what a front stabilizer link is). This must be done simultaneously with the brake hose screw. If the car has ABS, you will need to remove the tube with wiring from the sensor, which is located on the rack.
  6. After this, the fist fastener is unscrewed. Many experts knock out bolts with a simple hammer. It is worth knowing that some cars have separate bushings. After this manipulation, nothing holds the stand anymore.
  7. Now it's time to unscrew the nut holding the upper support to the body. The front shock absorber strut is removed simultaneously with the support and spring.
  8. You will need ties that are designed to remove the spring. Here you will need to get a gap between the cup and the outermost turn.
  9. Previously, the nut on the rod was already loosened, now it can be completely unscrewed. Only then will it be possible to remove the support and spring at the same time as the cup.
  10. If the bump stop along with the anthers are worn out, they must also be replaced.
  11. It is advisable to seriously pump new front struts beforehand. This process is carried out strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
  12. It is necessary to replace the gaskets and seals, since the old seals will no longer fit.
  13. Reassembly is in progress.

If you follow these instructions, you can quickly replace the front struts with new ones, ensuring comfortable movement of the car and ensuring a high level of safety. The support will become strong, the suspension will stop swaying and negatively affect the overall operation of the vehicle.

Types of tuning for the IZH Planet 5 motorcycle.

The most popular domestic motorcycles were IZh bikes produced by the Izhevsk Machine-Building Plant; among them, the road version IZH Planet stood out - 5 tuning, which allowed the owner to get an individual motorcycle modified to suit his needs and desires, practically his own model.

The IZH Planet - 5 model replaced the IZH Planet 4 motorcycle on the assembly line in 1987 and was produced until 2008. The design of the fifth model allowed the technically competent owner to carry out tuning work with his own hands. For motorcycles, there are the following main types of tuning:

Shock absorber repair using a repair kit

It should be said right away that only twin-pipe shock absorbers can be repaired.

For repair you will need:

  • Shock absorber repair kit;
  • Oil for automatic transmissions;
  • Special key for the upper shock absorber cover;
  • Lots of clean rags;
  • Degreaser (brake cleaner).

You can purchase all this at a car store.

To carry out the shock absorber repair procedure, you need to maintain maximum cleanliness in the workplace. Even the smallest grain of sand that gets inside the shock absorber can damage it.

First you need to remove the shock absorber from the car and clean its body. After this, unscrew the top cover of the shock absorber and disassemble it. For greater reliability, write down or photograph the relative positions of the shock absorber parts. Then, wash off the old oil and degrease all metal parts of the shock absorber. Replace all rubber bands in the shock absorber with new ones from the repair kit. Fill the shock absorber with new oil and tighten the cap. After this, you should pump the shock absorber; to do this, install the shock absorber vertically with the rod up and gently press the rod several times.

After these procedures, the shock absorber is ready for installation on the car.

Purpose of the front pillars

Any type of elastic metal from which the spring is made, when exposed to one or another mechanical factor, forms automatic residual vibrations, which cause serious discomfort to passengers and the driver. It is to dampen such shaking and vibrations that the shock absorber was developed and is widely used. It can completely transform sharp shocks into almost imperceptible soft vibrations.

Shock absorber struts play a major role in the structure of the entire vehicle suspension. Due to the relatively small size and ease of maintenance, the manufacturer produces structures at minimal cost.

Due to their small dimensions, the racks take up minimal free space. Due to this, you can easily place additional levers and other structural elements that can make the trip as comfortable as possible.

At the same time as increasing the level of comfort, the front shock absorber strut is designed to perform the following functions:

  • maintaining vehicle weight;
  • transfer of adhesion force with asphalt pavement to the body;
  • maintaining the optimal position of the body in relation to the car wheels;
  • eliminating excess roll;
  • taking on serious lateral loads.

The price of the struts is an order of magnitude higher compared to the shock absorbers themselves. The reason is a more complex design, as well as the fact that high quality materials are used in production.

The device of the front shock absorber struts

Many drivers mistakenly draw a parallel between concepts such as a shock absorber strut and the shock absorber itself. Some of them believe that this is an ordinary spring, or call all the elements of this system assembled together a strut. To understand that this is an erroneous opinion, it is worth studying in more detail the question of what racks are and what features of their design are present.

A shock absorber strut is a component that is required to connect components such as the body and wheels of a vehicle. This support is connected to a spring and a damper, which, by the way, is the main component of the shock absorber.

This design contains the following elements:

  1. Cylinders containing a piston and special hydraulic fluid.
  2. Hydraulic fluid, which can be presented in the form of a mixture of liquid and gas, as well as a certain mixture of gases. The composition is necessary to transfer forces between two types of shock absorbers.
  3. Stock. Designed to hold the piston on itself and is required to transmit serious pushing forces.
  4. A piston with a special bypass valve. It moves in the inside of the cylinder. Used for smooth transmission of vibrations.
  5. Seals, seal and high-quality sealant.
  6. An enclosure designed to house the various components of a rack inside.
  7. Fasteners necessary to connect the main parts of the shock absorber to the car body.

If you study the design of the elements, you can understand that the front shock absorber struts (AS) may or may not be equipped with springs. The choice of one or another option must be made based on the design features of the suspension and an acceptable budget.

Like all car parts, front shock absorber struts wear out over time, break and become completely unusable. If this phenomenon is detected, the front strut shock absorber should be replaced as soon as possible.

The design and principle of operation of a car shock absorber

So, what is a shock absorber and what is it for? When driving over bumps, different forces act on the wheels of the car. These forces are transmitted to the car body using springs and a system of suspension arms. A significant part of the forces is absorbed by springs and suspension arms. But every action has a reaction.

For example, a car wheel ran over a bump, the spring compressed (that is, it took the impact and accumulated energy) and you felt almost nothing. But the spring is already compressed and it must deflate, and having done this, it will give off part of the accumulated energy to the car body, simply throwing it up. Having thrown the body up, the spring is without load and pulls the wheel upward, trying to tear it off the road. This will happen exactly until the moment the car body again begins to put pressure on the spring and, accordingly, on the wheel. At this moment, the wheel practically does not touch the road, and you risk losing control. The body, having pressed on the spring and pressed the wheel to the road, again compressed the spring, which had accumulated energy, and which in a split second would certainly begin to decompress, and the whole cycle would begin again. And this will continue until the vibrations die out. But as soon as the vibrations die out, another bump in the road will definitely appear and everything will begin with renewed vigor.

In order to prevent rocking of the car body, as well as to prevent the transfer of compression energy from the spring to the car body, shock absorbers are used. These devices do not allow spring vibrations to occur during decompression, and if they do occur, they are quickly damped.

In this article I will not go into ancient times (by automotive standards) and talk about friction-type shock absorbers. I’ll start my story with shock absorbers that are widespread everywhere - these are hydraulic shock absorbers.

Today, two types of hydraulic shock absorbers are used in cars - single-tube and double-tube. Or as they are also popularly called oil, gas-oil and gas. Which is not entirely true, because at the moment there are practically no oil shock absorbers left on the market. The vast majority of modern shock absorbers are gas-oil. And they differ in design - single-pipe and double-pipe. Gas shock absorbers are used under increased loads, for example in motorsports, and are several times more expensive than gas-oil shock absorbers.

So, next we will talk about gas-oil shock absorbers, which we will divide into single-pipe and double-pipe.

Tuning IZH Planet 5 with your own hands

Back in 1987, the Izhevsk plant produced the legend of Soviet motorcycle technology - the IZH Planet 5 motorcycle. To this day, this model is in good demand; since then, hundreds of thousands of Izhovs have been sold.

The characteristics of the motorcycle are so good that from the moment of purchase the vehicle could be used both on rural roads and in the city, as evidenced by the powerful engine and modern design. Even with modern technology, Izh can compete and even win in some parameters. With an engine of only 1 cylinder, the motorcycle is capable of producing a considerable 22 horsepower. Fuel consumption at an average speed of 90 km/h is 5 liters. As for the factory maximum, the characteristics of Izh Planet 5 allow it to reach a speed of up to 120 km per hour. Thanks to its reliable design and high-quality Soviet assembly, the transport is unpretentious and easy to maintain after difficult operation.

Motorcycle shock absorber repair

In order to properly repair the shock absorber, you should carefully follow several points given below in the article.

  1. To begin troubleshooting, the motorcycle should be positioned so that the front wheel is suspended. To do this, you can use a step or any other elevation. However, it should be remembered that the bike must be well fixed and not fall at the most inopportune moment, as it can cause unwanted damage both to the mechanic himself and to its individual structural units and mechanisms. It is also advisable to use a counterweight if necessary. This will prevent the motorcycle from rolling over to one side.
  2. Once the bike is properly secured and the wheel is hanging, you need to remove it along with the fender.
  3. During disassembly, the bearings should be carefully inspected for defects and, if necessary, replaced.
  4. Remove the clip-ons and loosen the shock absorber caps.
  5. Unscrew the shock absorbers.
  6. Pull the shock absorbers out through the bottom one at a time.
  7. Disassemble the shock absorber.
  8. Unscrew the cap, keeping in mind that the spring may shoot out, so this should be done carefully.
  9. Remove the washer and bushing with spring.
  10. Drain the liquid.
  11. Remove the rod and remove the boot. When unscrewing, the rod must be held through the fabric to avoid damage to the surface.
  12. Remove the rod and spring. Use a separate container for this.
  13. After this, all parts must be thoroughly washed.
  14. Inspect each part carefully for wear and defects. If there are any suspicions regarding the condition of individual elements, it is better to replace them in order to avoid unscheduled breakdowns in the future.
  15. After everything is done, you need to reassemble the mechanism in reverse order.
  16. Reinstall the fender and wheel.
  17. As for replacing rear shock absorbers, the process is identical to replacing front shock absorbers, except that the rear wheel must be suspended.

It is also worth paying attention to the fact that oil must be poured in the amount specified in the vehicle’s operating instructions. It is also necessary to take into account that the oil seal will fit better if you tap it with a hammer through a rubber stick

If high viscosity oil is poured into shock absorbers, they will become stiffer. To avoid damaging the brake hoses during disassembly, it would be appropriate to secure them to a crossbeam.

In a word, shock absorbers take on a very large load while the bike is moving, and especially when braking. Therefore, their malfunction cannot be ignored, since it may be unsafe for the life of the pilot and surrounding people.

Homemade shock absorbers for IZH Planet

To eliminate defects in the rear shock absorbers of the motorcycle IZH 6.113-05, and to change the oil, you will need to repair the rear shock absorbers of the IZH in the following several stages:
Place the motorcycle firmly on the center stand, then you need to remove the shock absorbers (if you remove two shock absorbers at once, do not forget to place a support under the pendulum so that it does not tilt and fall).

How to disassemble an IZh shock absorber? We take special brackets and compress the spring (a car puller will not work - its ears are too thick). It can be done differently. To do this, you need to take a gas key and insert it between the coils of the spring. You need to lean on the gas key with the weight of your body, the spring will compress, and in the meantime your partner must remove the two supporting half-rings.

Next, the spring is removed, then the plastic cup. Behind them, the spring preload adjuster is removed.

You need to clamp the lower tip tightly in a vice, then take a 27mm wrench and unscrew the seal housing nut. We pull the rod towards ourselves with force to pull it out completely. You need to be careful - there is still oil in the shock absorber.

When inspecting the rod, pay attention to the working edge of the seal. To replace the rubber, unscrew the rod nut (before this, clamp it by the upper tip in a vice) and remove the piston with valves from the rod. Then the seal housing, oil seal with rubber buffer.

Wash all parts in kerosene or gasoline. Replace worn parts. When assembling the shock absorber, do not forget to fill in 0.075 l. liquid MGP-10, you can use AU oil, but it is better to fill in oil of foreign analogues. At this stage it is already clear how to disassemble the IZh shock absorber, all that remains is to assemble it.

It is better to assemble the shock absorber with clean hands on a clean table. Sand, debris and dirt can get inside. If you follow the advice, it means that you will be able to repair the rear shock absorbers of IZH without any problems. This will help prolong the long and reliable operation of the shock absorber in the future.

The difference between motorcycle shock absorbers and car shock absorbers

Motorcycle shock absorbers differ significantly from automobile shock absorbers. This is due to the fact that automobile shock absorbers and elastic elements are independent structural units, and on motorcycles these elements are combined into one unit. In the case of motorcycles, this particular unit is generally called a shock absorber.

The motorcycle shock absorber design includes:

  • separating piston;
  • rod with piston and its guide;
  • working cylinder with a lower eye and a welded bottom.

The shock-absorbing fluid is located in the working cavity, the other cavity is filled with technical nitrogen under very high pressure. Shock absorbers on motorcycles work on the following principle: compression of the suspension causes the piston to move downward, after which some of the liquid or gas flows under the piston from the cavity through the valve into the cavity above the piston. The valve is a throttle channel, which is closed by a spring-pressed plate.

It is worth noting that at the very beginning of the history of motorcycles, there were no such structures and vibration dampers were friction discs that were pressed tightly against each other. In modern motorcycles, this principle remains alive only in steering dampers and not in every motorcycle.

Friction devices have been replaced by hydraulic gas or gas-hydraulic modern devices, which are much better. Absolutely all modern devices operate, as mentioned above, on the principle of passing liquid or gas through holes and gaps of extremely small sizes. In this case, the smaller these holes or gaps, the greater the resistance of the gas or liquid.

In addition, the motorcycle suspension also consists of a guide device that ensures the movement of the wheel in a strictly specified plane. Such devices operate using telescopic pipes and arms of the front forks, pendulums, and rear suspension arms.

From all that has been said, it is worth paying attention to the fact that since shock absorbers are precisely those components that dampen various vibrations, they are one of the most important parts of a motorcycle. Thus, their correct and proper operation ensures safe riding of a motorcycle.

However, unfortunately, shock absorbers on a motorcycle can also fail after several thousand miles or due to some unfavorable circumstances and require immediate attention. After all, the problem is that faulty shock absorbers allow the vehicle to move, but this is far from safe. If there are any problems with the motorcycle shock absorbers, then it is necessary to repair the motorcycle shock absorbers.

Technical tuning Izh Planet 5

Any vehicle can be changed and its technical data can be improved. The engine and other elements of Izh Planet 5 are especially amenable to changes, because thanks to the high-quality and simple assembly of the engine, changing its components will be quite simple. Let's start with engine tuning, which will increase the performance of your vehicle.

To increase engine power, the first step is to repress the crankshaft. The result will be an increase in engine performance by 15%. You can read about this on the forums, or ask experienced people. The second option for engine styling is to install bearings from another motorcycle, namely the Java 350. It is strongly recommended to carry out such tuning only when you plan to operate the Izh on large and high-speed rides, because this change threatens to deteriorate the exhaust system.

Also, a standard increase in the power of any vehicle is the boring of the cylinder, so the Izh Planet 5 motorcycle, after increasing the volume to 75 mm, will receive a significant increase in speed, in most cases the maximum figure is 160 km per hour.
