Limiters on a scooter, removing plugs and choke

As a general rule, speed limiters are installed on most scooters; they help protect the engine and main parts from overload, and therefore from premature wear. But there is a category of owners who are ready to remove such a limiter. Some Chinese scooters that are imported into our country do not have rev limiters or maximum speed limiters installed. But in models intended for the European market, they are still present, since in Europe the speed for small class scooters is limited to 45 km/h. If your vehicle has such a limiter, remove it without any doubts and get an increase in speed by 15-30 kilometers per hour.

Economical tuning
Any internal combustion engine operates on the principle of converting the thermal energy of burned fuel into kinetic energy (rotation of the crankshaft).

First you need to understand what engine power is. In scientific terms, power is the work done per unit of time. The more work done, the higher the power. In other words, the physical term “work” in this case is the combustion of fuel. The more fuel burned per unit time, the greater the engine power. The problem of increasing the volume of burned fuel can be solved in two ways - by increasing the amount of mixture supplied for each engine stroke or by increasing engine speed. Of course, the best results are obtained by using both methods together. Let's look at the application of both using specific examples.

"De-spreading" of the motor

It is best to start tuning a scooter engine by restoring its design power. Manufacturers always tune the engine with an eye to environmental standards and in pursuit of better efficiency. Even a simple carburetor retuning can give a noticeable increase in power. The main methods of “suffocating” the motor are “respiratory” and “brain”. In the first case, the intake and exhaust systems simply prevent the engine from receiving the maximum amount of air-fuel mixture, which is why it cannot produce the power it is capable of. Such an ailment can be “treated” by replacing the air filter with an analogue one with a higher capacity, reconfiguring the carburetor, replacing the exhaust system with a more efficient one, or modifying the standard one. Now the engine receives as much of the air-fuel mixture as it can “suck in” and is quickly released from the exhaust gases through a pipe that does not create obstacles to their exit. In general, the engine “unwinds” and it begins to “breathe deeply.”

To overcome the “brain” defect of the engine, you will have to look for or order a reconfigured ECU - an electronic engine control unit. Standard ECUs “choke” the engine not only with a maximum speed limiter (that is, preventing the engine from burning the maximum amount of air-fuel mixture per unit time), but often with a changed ignition timing angle, which undoubtedly helps reduce fuel consumption and the content of toxic substances in the exhaust gases, but, unfortunately, to the detriment of engine power.

In engineering language this is called engine boost. If at the first stage we simply returned the engine to its legal, calculated horsepower, which was “stolen” at the factory, now we are starting work on increasing the “number of horses” living in the engine. We must remember that the service life of the engine and transmission is inversely proportional to power. That is, the more “horses” we drive into the engine, the shorter its life will be.

Often scooters “tuned” for racing have more than 20 horsepower in the engine, but at the same time, with a resource, as they say, for 1 - 2 races, that is, 150-200 kilometers.

Scooter speed limiters (removing scooter plugs)

Some Chinese scooters supplied to the CIS countries do not have speed and rev limiters (plugs). Models sold in Europe differ in their availability. The fact is that according to European laws, the maximum speed of scooters with a cylinder volume of 50 cm3 should be no more than 45 km/h. So, if you are lucky enough to purchase such a scooter, then these plugs must be removed.

The scooter can be muffled in several ways, namely by installing limiters in the CVT, through an electronic limiter in the switch, a limit washer in the carburetor, and whistles and catalytic converters in the muffler of the scooter. I would especially like to note the horizontal Yamaha engines - they are strangled not only in terms of electrics and exhaust, but also by the exhaust window of the CPG, which is blocked almost halfway. However, even with such a cylinder, it is quite possible to reach a maximum speed of 70-80 km/h.

Objective risks

Do not drive the electric engine at maximum power! Even if you are already guilty of this, but the windings are still in good health, this means that the maximum power comes into play for a short time and the electric motor does not have time to reach the critical temperature. However, you shouldn’t think that you can do this “with impunity” on an ongoing basis - sooner or later, overheating may still overtake your faithful electrical worker!

Masters often receive MKs for repairs whose windings have burned out and magnets have fallen off due to critical temperatures, and it follows from this that it would be more profitable not to play with high power.

Perhaps some inquisitive users will have a well-founded question - why do manufacturers, since they are so smart, not install thermal sensors in the MK to prevent overheating? The answer is simple: if a standard control device is used, the motorized wheel will not overheat even at an ambient temperature of +35 degrees, so it makes no sense to complicate the control unit by introducing a temperature sensor.

Limiters in the variator

This can be either a restrictive ring between the cheeks of the variator, or a plate screwed to the variator on the side where the weights are installed (depending on the engine model). Both of these plugs have the same purpose, namely, to prevent the variator cheeks from shrinking completely. Thus, the belt does not reach its maximum radius. Those. travel speed is limited. Reaching, for example, 45-50 km/h, the scooter does not accelerate further, while the crankshaft speed increases. On the other hand, to prevent the engine from breaking down due to too high speeds, a limiter is installed in the switch. The idea is that when a certain number of engine revolutions is reached, the ignition of the fuel stops. We'll talk about this later, but for now let's talk about the variator.

How to remove the throttle limiter on a scooter

In this video I will talk about all the common limiters

We disassemble the variator, remove the gear and belt. Here it is, the restrictive ring.

Just remove this ring and you can put everything back together. If there is no ring, then remove the inner cheek of the variator. A thrust plate can be screwed on from the inside, and there are weights under it.

We unscrew this plate and put everything in place (there is no need to put the plate in place :).

This is what the variator should look like after removing the restrictor plate.

If it happens that neither the plate nor the ring is installed in the variator, then pay attention to the bushing. It may have a protrusion that acts as a ring

There are two options: You buy a new bushing or look for a turner who will turn it. The main thing is not to oversharpen! The surface must then be sanded. We put everything in place and assemble the variator.

Increasing the speed of Xiaomi and Kugoo scooter

It is possible to increase the maximum speed of an electric scooter after performing a certain sequence of actions. Let's look at the instructions for vehicles from the two most popular manufacturers. Every owner of such a device should definitely know how to change the speed, adjust the driving modes and disable the speed limit of the electric scooter. This information will make your ride more comfortable and safe.

How to change speed on an electric scooter

The handle located on the right side will help you reduce and increase the speed of the Kugoo or Xiaomi electric scooter . To reduce gas, the pressure on it should be weakened, to increase it, it should be increased.

You should change the speed on the electric scooter carefully - when you squeeze the lever for 5 seconds, the cruise control mode is activated and you will no longer be able to slow down the vehicle.

It is recommended to press the right handle when the device speed is more than 5 km/h . In another situation it simply won't work. In addition, you should not move the lever when the electric vehicle is riding next to the user or is used like a regular scooter (operates without a battery).

How to remove speed limit

Upgrading electric scooters that move at a minimum speed will not take much time. To change the speed limit you will need:

  • turn off the device;
  • hold the brake trigger (on the left side of the handlebar) and turn on the scooter without releasing it;
  • press the gas trigger a certain number of times.

In this case, the restriction is not removed completely, but only slightly shifted. So, you can increase the speed by pressing the right handle:

  • 8 times – 12 km/h;
  • 6 times – 20 km/h;
  • 5 times – 25 km/h;
  • 4 times – 33 km/h.

This way it will be possible to remove the speed limit on a Xiaomi or Kugoo scooter for children and beginners. As for transport for experienced adult riders, intervention in the “insides” of the device will be required.

To eliminate the limitation, you will first need to disassemble the device and remove the controller . Further actions must be carried out directly with his participation:

  1. Take a soldering iron and drop some solder on it.
  2. Find the corresponding bracket on the controller (the outermost one, on the opposite side from the wire exit, usually near the battery).
  3. Transfer a drop of solder from the soldering iron to the corner of the bracket.

It is better not to overdo it with solder, as this can lead to failure of the controller, without which the electric scooter will not be able to move at all.

After these steps, the vehicle will move much more vigorously. When driving up a mountain, of course, you shouldn’t expect super results, but the increase in power will be noticeable on any road surface.

Independently tampering with the internal parts of an electric scooter will void its warranty.

Setting modes

The speed of the scooter is also controlled by changing its modes. They are switched by a button on the display and identify themselves with the corresponding icons on it. As a rule, manufacturers equip electric vehicles with three modes :

  1. ECO mode. On it, the device is able to cover the maximum distance specified in the characteristics. The speed in this case is limited, as a rule, to 15-20 km/h. When the mode is active, no symbols should appear on the vehicle screen.
  2. Standard speed mode. It allows you to drive at a speed of 25-30 km/h. This mode provides a not tedious, but comfortable and safe ride. When it is turned on, the letter “S” appears on the display. The current consumption here is not too large, and therefore at the maximum permissible speed it will be possible to travel a considerable distance.
  3. Sport mode. The accelerated level is suitable for moving through parks where there is a large free area. With it you will be able to accelerate the vehicle to the maximum speed specified in the characteristics. This mode is also indicated by the English letter “S”, but it is highlighted in color (usually red).

Unlike Chinese scooters, all scooters from Japanese and European manufacturers are equipped with so-called “jammers”, which limit the maximum speed of the scooter in various ways. First of all, this is due to the peculiarities of legislation in some countries, where the speed of fifty-kopeck scooters, that is, scooters with engines up to 50 cm3, should not exceed 45 km/h. By the way, owners of Japanese scooters may have noticed a special warning light on the dashboard that lights up after the scooter accelerates to 35 - 40 km/h. This indicator just warns you that by accelerating even more, you are breaking the law. This signal light does not have any other functions.

Of course, for many scooter riders, such a “maximum speed” is insufficient, and there is a desire to remove all these “jammers”. It should be noted right away that you can remove the limiters only after the scooter has completely gone through the break-in period, otherwise such actions may mean 8

So, the scooter can be equipped with maximum speed limiters of various types. The limiter can be implemented in a variator, carburetor, muffler, or through the use of a special electronic switch, which, after reaching a certain engine speed, stops “supplying a spark” to the spark plug. There may be combinations of different limiters, for example, at the same time there may be a limiter in the variator, as well as at the “exhaust” of the engine. Let's try to understand all this in more detail.

Perhaps the most common limiters are in the variator of a scooter. One of the options is a special washer between the cheeks of the variator, which does not allow the cheeks to get closer to each other, thereby preventing the belt from reaching the maximum radius of the variator. Also, it may be a restrictor plate attached to the variator, which does not allow the weights to reach their maximum diameter. The principle of speed limiting is the same here, only the implementation of the solution is different. It is not difficult to find and remove these limiters, just look at what “prevents” the variator cheeks from coming close to each other. We disassemble the variator, remove the limit washer, or remove the limit plate, and reassemble the variator and install it in place. If neither a limit washer nor a limit plate is found in the variator, it is possible that there is a special limit protrusion on the variator bushing. In this case, you can either buy a new bushing without a stop, or grind the protrusion.

Restrictors that are built into the carburetor are less common, especially in two-stroke scooter engines. By the way, we can separately note the Yamaha two-stroke horizontal engines. These engines have not only electronic limiters, but also a limiter in the exhaust port of the cylinder (at the “exhaust”, in front of the exhaust pipe, the cylinder has a special “influx” that almost half blocks the exhaust port). Having no experience in tuning engines, we do not recommend removing this influx, since after this the operation of the engine may be disrupted, and without the proper experience, it will be difficult to tune it. However, if it is possible to turn to more or less knowledgeable specialists, this problem can be solved.

We also do not advise you to independently remove the restrictor in the carburetor, which resembles a valve of its own, if there is one, which blocks the access of fuel to the float chamber and is triggered by an increase in pressure. Still, a carburetor is a delicate and precise device, and you need to interfere with its operation carefully. You can also replace the “original” fuel jet in the carburetor with a jet with a larger hole diameter, but, again, all such alterations will require reconfiguring the carburetor, and this is work for a specialist.

Now about the limiters in the muffler. This can be either some kind of “appendage” - the appendix at the beginning of the muffler, which creates turbulence in the exhaust gases, or a “whistle” - a bushing at the inlet of the muffler, or both. The stopper bushings can be successfully removed using a hammer and chisel. The “branch” is cut off with a grinder or a hacksaw, the edges of the cut pipe are bent, and the hole is welded.

Electronic switches of the scooter ignition system, which have a rev limiter, can be replaced with another, so-called “sports” switch, which does not have such “jammers”. On some switches, the limiter can be disabled by slightly “upgrading” it, but for this you need to understand electrical engineering. If the scooter is Japanese, then most likely this issue cannot be resolved without replacing the switch.

Speed limiters in the muffler of a scooter

The parameters of the exhaust system play an important role in the operation of the scooter motor.
Try covering the exhaust pipe slightly with your hand while the engine is running. The engine will immediately feel this and if it does not stall, it will begin to malfunction and slow down. Oddly enough, the engineers of the motorcycle industry also guessed this before and are “crushing” the engine with the muffler. And sometimes in two places. The first most common thing is the so-called shoot. Take a look at your scooter's muffler. If at the very beginning of the muffler there is a branch and one of them ends in a dead end, know that this hernia must be removed. This appendage creates turbulence of gases and forms a kind of gas plug, which interferes with free exhaust.

The Piaggio company likes to put “whistles” in the silencers. Anyone who owns a Piaggio knows that, unlike the Yamaha muffler, the Piaggio muffler consists of two parts. The first is a short tube from the cylinder to the beginning of the “saxophone”, and the second part is the “saxophone” itself. So, we unscrew the connection of these two parts and look at the inlet window of the “saxophone”; if it is approximately two times smaller than the window of the gasket, then you know that a tube of smaller diameter is soldered here. Usually, to remove it, a hammer, chisel and a metal rod (with a diameter slightly smaller than the “whistle” - to loosen it) are enough.

We adjust valves (4t engines).

As mentioned earlier, the engine must be serviced before boosting. Work that will help improve dynamics includes adjusting the valves. The procedure is suitable for tuning Chinese 4t scooters and other 4-stroke engines. For small-capacity equipment, it is recommended to carry out such adjustments at least once every 3, and preferably once every 2 thousand km. It is also necessary to carry out adjustments after manipulations with the CPG.

Before you begin, you need to make sure that the engine has completely cooled down and that you have a set of keys (8,9) and feelers of 0.05 for the intake valve and 0.07 mm for the exhaust valve at hand. You can get to the adjusting nuts by first removing the valve cover. When access to the valves opens, the piston is installed at top dead center. Next, a feeler gauge is installed in the intake valve gap and, depending on the current position, an adjustment is made.

To increase or decrease the clearance, you need to loosen the lock nut (while holding the adjusting bolt), turn the adjustment bolt and, while holding it, tighten the lock nut back. Thus, we achieve a gap when the probe passes into it with little effort. After adjustment, make a full revolution of the crankshaft and make sure that the adjustment is accurate.

All homemade products

If you have an old but indestructible Japanese scooter, which, unlike the rotten Chinese one, does not shine with chrome, but deserves to look beautiful and dignified like no one else. So let's give the muffler a new look.

We will need very simple materials:

  • A small sheet of thin stainless steel, 0.4-1 mm thick.
  • A piece of rolled heat-resistant sound insulation, ~5 mm thick (asbestos or other)

Tools:

  • Semi-automatic welding.
  • Grinder with a thin disc of 1 mm.

Lyrical digression.

Over time, even the most famous manufacturers of motorcycles, in my case it’s Honda, completely clog the muffler with exhaust carbon, after which the engine completely stops starting and we are left with only two options, buy a new Chinese muffler or disassemble and clean the old one.

But since Chinese mufflers in most cases are just an empty and thin can, in which there is absolutely no system of reverse wave resonance, and for a two-stroke engine this is a sentence for a loss of power of up to 50% and, as a result, the scooter completely stops driving!

Therefore, I recommend everyone to choose the second option - cleaning, not replacement, well, unless it’s the Original!

When sawing the muffler canister for cleaning, out of hopelessness, it is necessary to remove the internal fiberglass noise insulator of the body, after which the sound of the operating scooter becomes louder and more unpleasant (ringing), the body can resonates, and also the appearance of the muffler suffers and is no longer as neat as before.

Therefore, this tuning kills two birds with one stone: decorative decoration of the muffler and additional noise insulation, which completely returns the noise level to the new norm.

Manufacturing and assembly.

Unscrew the four nuts and remove the muffler.

We measure the circumference of the muffler and its length between the welds.

To the resulting dimensions of the circle we add 2-3 cm for the joint, and to the width we add 2 cm for the bends. We cut out a calculated rectangle from thin stainless steel.

On the wide sides we make bends of 5 - 6 mm. It is enough to place it on the corner, secure it with two clamps and tap it with a hammer.

Immediately polish the surface, for example with GOE paste.

Thin 1mm. Using a disk, we make cuts to the entire height of the bend, in increments of 5 mm.

We remove sharp edges and burrs.

Using the resulting dimensions, we cut out a piece of noise insulator (for example, asbestos weave, fiberglass, etc.) so that it fits tightly inside between the bends and a length equal to the circumference of the muffler can.

We wrap this “sandwich” around the muffler can so that the joint is inward towards the wheel.

For convenience, we compress and secure it with clamps or other fasteners (for example, rubber rings, belts).

We do spot welding.

We remove the fasteners and install the muffler back on the scooter.

Let's start it!, enjoy how quietly it runs and admire the shine of the new plug!

Advice!

On the universally beloved YouTube and on specialized forums (preferably bourgeois ones), you can search for video material with instructions specifically for your MK model, or even better, for your electric bike. If you do find it, strictly follow the instructions outlined there and you have every chance to reduce the risk of breakdown to almost zero.

Conclusion

As you can see, you can only reach a higher maximum speed with a motor with a power of more than 250 W, and even then, you should carefully analyze everything before doing this, because if you don’t know the matter, you can simply ruin the equipment that was working well before. In any case, no one has yet canceled specialized workshops, so if it’s really hot, but you’re not confident in your abilities, “Welcome”!

Hardware settings

Let's start with the fastest way (but not the safest) - changing the hardware settings of the network card. To be very precise, this is forced interference with the operation of the system and network card. Let's figure out how to limit the Internet speed on a computer.

The speed is limited by changing the speed of the local network bandwidth. This makes it possible to independently reduce the speed of the local network on your home PC. The distribution is based on three types of access:

  • up to 10 MB/s;
  • from 10 to 100 mb/sec;
  • from 100 MB per second and up to 1000 Megabit/s.

All you need to do is go to the network card settings and select the slowest type of Internet access (up to 10 Mb/sec). Now your network simply will not be able to access the Internet at high speed. But remember that such manipulations may negatively affect the further operation of the card.

Cylinder-piston group.

Finally, the most effective improvement for any engine is replacing the CPG. But not just a replacement, but the installation of a new, larger piston. Fortunately, there are now many ready-made kits on the market; you don’t have to sharpen or adjust anything, as with Soviet equipment. Moreover, there is even a lot to choose from. For example, for various models with a volume of 50 cubic meters, they offer kits to increase to 63, 72, 82 and even 90+ cubic cm. In some cases, this is an almost double increase in power.

The situation is similar with larger engines, for example, for 125 cubic meters, sets of 150 or 170 cubic meters are sold. Some, in the process of tuning a scooter, manage to increase 150 cubic meters with their own hands to 225 cubic meters. Choosing the right part is not the most difficult thing, the most difficult thing is installing it. After all, this process involves almost complete disassembly of the engine. You will be faced with the need to have several special removable keys in your arsenal; you can ask them from friends or borrow them for the evening at auto repair shops. We strongly recommend studying the technical component in order to properly disassemble, replace the necessary elements and assemble the motor.

Alas, for some, increased power does not promise anything other than breakdowns or inadequate performance. This is because by significantly increasing power, you inevitably entail work on all other nodes. Let's imagine that we installed a new 92 cc CPG on an old 50 cc engine. The first thing to check is the condition of the connecting rod, crankshaft and bearings. Otherwise, they will fly first, followed by our new system of both cylinder and piston.

Great, we added new bearings to the CPG, an elbow with a connecting rod, now we can be sure of reliability. But the engine does not go faster, and we decide to purchase a new carburetor. Now the mixture is too rich, and we understand that the exhaust needs to be changed. After such modifications, the engine sounds loud, accelerates perfectly, but the maximum speed is slightly higher than before and the variator sounds strange. After installing a high-speed CVT, for example from the Italian manufacturer Polini, the engine will be able to fully realize its new power. The last stage is an inspection of the brake system; you don’t want to find out at a speed of 60 km/h that the brakes are now comparable to bicycle ones.

As a result, after replacing almost all the components, we got a very fast “flea” that can surprise your friends and experts in this technology. Over time, you can make changes to the chassis system, replace shock absorbers, and install more attractive wheels. Often, the modernization process does not stop there, and after tuning a scooter 50, 150 with your own hands, impressive improvements in appearance are made. The moped is repainted, panels are changed, new devices, lighting, and so on appear.

How to Remove the Speed Limiter on an Alpha Moped

Removing speed and power limiters

Let's start with the conclusion

Factory limiters are not fully adjustable, but simply output

Limiters. Those. By doing this, you allow the engine to perform as intended by the engineers at the factory. Why install limiters? Technological advancements in technology and technological development have left their mark.

The fact is that, according to the rules in force in Europe, all fifty cents remain in the moped class only if the maximum design speed does not exceed 50 km/h. This means that the scooter you purchased remains unauthorized and does not require numbers only in that case, if under no circumstances it exceeds 50 km/h. If at least one of the conditions is violated (volume more than 50 cu m or more) speed

more than 50 km/h), then all rights, quantity and all that.

How to remove the speed limiter on a scooter

Studying preliminary information on the Internet about the scooter, I realized that the truth could not be found. Some sites said that the scooter develops 85 km/h, while others said that it reaches a maximum of 40 km/h. Some sites said that the power of the 50cc engine is 3.5 hp. (on the website of SYM itself), on others - 2.5. They write a lot about the restrictor ring in the variator. After the purchase, it turned out from the passport issued for the scooter that the engine develops 1.8 kW, which is approximately equal to 2.5 hp.

When purchasing from MOTOSINTEZ, the seller said that it needed to be run-in, and then he would suggest a place where the SR50 would be made into an SR82. He swore that there were no restrictor rings in the variator. Traveled 300 km in 3 days. I'm calling the seller. He gives tel. Gennady, who tells me on the phone that there is absolutely no way yet to turn the SR50 into SR something else. And the ring, I say? No, he says, there are rings there.

What - go to the service center at an inconvenient time just to change the oil? I decided, as always, that I could handle it myself. I fix my own Tuareg, and somehow I’ll master the scooter.

I installed the alarm - Pandora dxl4200 - now I can talk to the Scoot on the phone.

Well, security locks, case, trunk - that goes without saying. I bought a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, a raincoat, and a balaclava. Moreover, at first I bought a case from an unknown manufacturer, which fell off along with pieces of its mounting platform on the 3rd hatch, recessed into the asphalt. After which I took a smaller size and GIVI.

Programs to limit Internet speed on a computer

Since Windows does not have an application or function that allows you to monitor Internet speed indicators, users have created such tools themselves.

There are many utilities that make it possible to reduce the maximum Internet bandwidth in a few clicks, for example:

  • Traffic Inspector. The utility provides thirty days of free use (to familiarize yourself with all the features);
  • NetLimiter. The program is distributed free of charge, with the option to purchase a PRO version.

This software is distributed free of charge, but there are also “advanced” versions with more fine-tuned network control. For such versions you will have to pay a certain amount.

Typically, such programs have a complex structure. In a word, with the help of them you can not only set an Internet speed limit on your computer, but also control the Internet speed: monitor, divide and distribute Internet traffic

Speed/rev limiters in scooter switch

If we are dealing with Japanese technology, then most likely we cannot do without replacing the switch with a tuning one. This measure eliminates the limitation on the maximum speed of the scooter engine - and this is reflected in the maximum speed, increasing to 15-25 km/h. "However!" you will say Yes, just don’t forget that if the engine of your favorite scooter is not in perfect technical condition, and your style of riding a scooter is constant use at maximum speed, and even if you don’t use oil so well, then you will not get an increase in speed , but an increase in costs for (at a minimum) rebuilding the engine with replacing the crankshaft bearings. That is, you should at least check the scooter engine for wear on the CPG and crankshaft bearings before installing the tuning switch. This process is not difficult - you need to measure the compression of the CPG and if it is not less than 8 atm, then your CPG is in quite good condition.

The main reasons for low Internet speed on Windows 10

Situations when the Internet slows down appear all the time. Moreover, the most surprising thing is that even the most expensive tariff is not ready to guarantee a stable connection.

If you are faced with the problem of slow Internet, then most likely the following factors affected its speed:

  • damaged cable (if using a wired connection);
  • outdated hardware drivers;
  • activation of the speed limiter;
  • incorrect file hosting settings;
  • lack of optimization when opening pages in the browser.

On a note. A wireless Wi-Fi connection is inherently slower than a wired connection. Therefore, people who want to get the most out of their tariff are recommended to use the Internet via cable.

It is important to note that each person has their own definition of “slow” Internet. In addition, low speed manifests itself in different ways. It happens that the connection works flawlessly in the browser, but when downloading files it makes you wait for many hours until the download is completed.

Problems when paying with bank cards

Sometimes difficulties may arise when paying with Visa/MasterCard bank cards. The most common of them:

  1. There is a restriction on the card for paying for online purchases
  2. A plastic card is not intended for making payments online.
  3. The plastic card is not activated for making payments online.
  4. There are not enough funds on the plastic card.

In order to solve these problems, you need to call or write to the technical support of the bank where you are served. Bank specialists will help you resolve them and make payments.

That's basically it. The entire process of paying for a book in PDF format on car repair on our website takes 1-2 minutes.

How to limit Internet speed with a router

Changing your router hardware settings may not be suitable for everyone. The method only works for wired (local) connections. It is also important that this is a forced (“emergency”) method that allows you to reduce the speed of the network. It would be more logical to set a restriction on the WiFi router with which you access the Internet.

Adjust the router settings so that the data transfer speed does not exceed the threshold that you set. Windows doesn't allow you to do this from the desktop, so you'll have to understand your router settings.

Each manufacturer implements this feature differently on their WiFi routers.

Limiters on a scooter, removing plugs and choke

Why did this happen after 1993, and how was the speed limit before that time? Why limit speed at all? On scooters before 1993, speed was also limited, but only within reasonable limits, usually up to 65-70 km/h. This was done for the safety of the rider himself, because such a small vehicle with small wheels is very unstable at speeds of 70 km/h, and any stone on the road can lead to serious consequences. At that time, they were limited to only adjusting the variator in such a way that the belt did not reach its maximum radius.

But in the first half of the 90s, a law was passed in Japan that instructs all scooter manufacturers to limit speed to 50 km per hour. Such stringent measures were taken after analyzing the accident rate using this technique. Later, this measure was adopted in Europe, but in an even stricter interpretation. From this moment on, the era of limiters on scooters up to 50 cubic centimeters begins. What engineers couldn't come up with to calm the little beast down. Let's look at the main limiters and throttles of a scooter, which are most often found on Japanese, Chinese and European scooters:

Choke in the muffler.

An insidious, effective and at the same time very simple remedy. Before entering the muffler, a small appendage, 5-10 cm long, is welded into the pipe. When a certain speed is reached, a nonlinear vortex is created in this “appendix”, capable of creating a reverse wave, thereby creating a damper effect. This can all be treated by simply cutting out this process and plugging the hole that remains in its place.

It is important to cut flush with the pipe so that a patch can be applied to the hole. The muffler must be removed before work.

Some pipes have a narrowing at the outlet that breaks off easily.

Speed limiter in the switch.

Very effective and most common method. Until recently, it was used on almost all Japanese scooters without exception. A circuit is stitched into the “brains” of the scooter, which, when a given speed is reached, stops igniting the mixture, and the switch plays the main role in this matter. If just such a limiter is installed on your scooter, then the only and sure way to get around the problem is to replace the switch with a tuned one, for example Daytona, which is the best option in terms of price-quality ratio. But keep in mind that the engine is not designed for excessive speed, and can easily fail, and all responsibility falls on your shoulders.

Speed limiter in the variator.

Everything is simple here, a plate is installed behind the movable cheek of the variator, with three bolts. This plate does not allow the rollers to extend further than normal, hence they stop extending further in the “beds” and do not create a load on the variator, the speed stops increasing. We unscrew this plate and increase the maximum speed by 5 kilometers.

Another common move is to install a washer on the variator bushing; it prevents the cheeks from coming together and the belt does not reach its maximum radius. Very common on European scooters. This method in no way suffocates the device at low and medium levels, but the maximum speed can be lost up to 10-15 km. To remove the washer, you need to remove the variator, remove the washer that is close to the bushing, and put everything back together.

Remember, if your new scooter does not accelerate over 50 km per hour, then there is clearly a choke somewhere that must be removed, because we do not yet have such rules that limit the speed of movement.

The influence of various factors on the speed of movement

The speed of an electric scooter is a very relative concept. In this case, as a rule, we mean average speed, which is not difficult to achieve. It also happens that the manufacturer deliberately inflates the maximum indicator - it will be possible to see it on the device screen only in ideal conditions.

The speed of movement depends on various factors. They can both lower this indicator and increase it.

Road type

Modern electric scooters are capable of reaching the highest speeds on perfectly smooth road surfaces . The wheels literally glide on such a surface, since the resistance is minimal. Cruise control works great here (maintaining the same speed throughout the entire journey). A completely different matter is a viscous road, when moving along which the bottom of the device sags and the wheels get stuck in holes.

the slope of the road is also important . For comparison, imagine walking - going up a mountain is much harder than going down. The motor of an electric scooter works in the same way. Climbing upward, he will need to put in much more effort.

Motor characteristics

One of the main criteria consistently affects the speed of the device. Torque and power play the role of the vehicle's power reserve If you want to ride an electric scooter, you should quickly select a model with the best motor characteristics.

Wheel size

The rotation of the wheels is provided by the engine. Their small size indicates that it will be problematic to overcome a long distance, which cannot be said about large elements. And although large wheels are more difficult to rotate, modern manufacturers take this feature into account and equip electric vehicles with an engine with the appropriate power.

Body weight of the rider and electric scooter

The total weight of the vehicle and the user plays a special role. The higher it is, the greater the friction force with the road surface, which means you won’t be able to move quickly. An electric scooter with normal speed characteristics should be light in weight, while at the same time maintaining other driving characteristics.

It is possible to increase the load on electric vehicles, for example, with a backpack - in this case, you should not think about driving fast.

Weather

A perfectly flat road does not always provide high speed. Headwinds or precipitation are quite capable of preventing the device from working as usual. They create additional resistance and sometimes even knock the electric scooter off the flat road.

DIY saxophone muffler for scooter

Even with minimal tuning of the scooter, you need to think about installing a resonant exhaust. The operating principle and review of saxophones, as such mufflers are popularly called, will be given in another article.

A resonant saxophone muffler is not a cheap thing and not everyone can afford it. Accordingly, scooterists have a desire to save money and make such an exhaust pipe on their own. In this article you will learn how to make a primitive homemade saxophone using the example of a Yamaha Jog scooter. Why primitive? Because with this method we will not carry out calculations of the resonator (this requires a special program), but will simply use a drawing of a saxophone muffler.

How to Make a Yamaha Jog Saxophone Silencer

So let's get started. To make a saxophone, we need metal approximately 1.2 mm thick. It must be cut according to the dimensions indicated on the drawing (You can adjust these dimensions closer to your parameters). In order to accurately bend the metal, we grind a wooden blank to size (we get a kind of wooden muffler) and then bend the steel according to this shape. After carefully adjusting the workpiece, we weld the joints using semi-automatic welding. We clean the part using any available means.

We also bend the muffler and muffler pipe. On one side we weld it completely, and on the other side with rivets (to replace the filler, here it is glass wool). After welding, we check all elements for leaks - there should be no gaps, of course.

We sand all the parts and paint. In this case, the muffler is painted with powder paint, and everything else is painted with simple acrylic paint.

The fastenings on the muffler are made of stainless steel.

And here is the result of our painstaking work - a copy of the Tecnigas saxophone. Not bad, right?

A saxophone on a scooter looks even better.

After installing such a muffler, you may need to adjust the scooter's carburetor, adjust the transmission as a whole, and the engine in general.

Scooter speed limiters. Removing scooter plugs

Some Chinese scooters supplied to Russia or CIS countries do not have speed and rev limiters (plugs). Models sold in Europe differ in their availability. According to European laws, the maximum speed of scooters with a cylinder volume of 50 ccm should be no more than 45 km/h. So, if you are lucky enough to purchase such a scooter, then these plugs can be removed after running the scooter.

The scooter can be muffled in several ways, namely by installing limiters in the CVT, through an electronic limiter in the switch, a limit washer in the carburetor, and whistles and catalysts in the muffler of the scooter. The muffler and carburetor are less popular in the field of limiters among four-stroke scooters, therefore, unlike two-stroke scooters, limiters are not often installed in them. Although there are four-stroke scooters with a limiter installed in the carburetor and muffler. I would especially like to note the horizontal Yamaha engines - they are strangled not only in terms of electrics and exhaust, but also because the exhaust windows of the CPG are blocked by almost half. However, even with such a cylinder, it is quite possible to reach a maximum speed of 70-80 km/h.

Factory speed limiting methods

A scooter can be turned off at the factory using several methods:

  • The first of these is the installation of a special limiter located in the variator.
  • The second method is to use a special electronic limiter embedded in the switch.
  • The carburetor may also have a special limit washer that reduces the speed.
  • A catalyst in the muffler is another way to limit acceleration.

Carburetor and muffler are less popular in the speed limiting arena in 4 stroke scooters. Therefore, it will be problematic to meet them, compared to two-stroke engines. On the other hand, you can also find models on the market that allow you to install a limiter on several nodes at once.

The appendix shown in the photo is cut off and the hole is welded.

Remove the stopper bushing.

Yamaha engines with a horizontal design require special mention. They are “strangled” both in terms of release and with the help of electronic filling. The CPG windows can overlap almost half. But even with such blockages, squeezing 70 kilometers per hour is not difficult. But how to remove the speed limiter on a scooter?

Features of variator limitation

The limiter can be a special plate placed near the weights, or a metal ring installed between the variator brushes. Both the first and second plugs have a common goal - to prevent the brushes from shrinking completely. As a result, the belt cannot reach its maximum radius, thereby blocking further acceleration. Interestingly, the engine will gain speed, but the CVT limiter will not allow it to gain greater speed. To prevent damage to the engine from such manipulations, a special limiter is added to the commutator. The bottom line is that when maximum speed is reached, the fuel will not ignite.

Before you remove the installed speed limiter on your scooter, you need to get the tools. A case with screwdrivers and keys is the best option.

Disassemble the variator and get rid of the belt along with the gear. A restrictive ring will appear in front of you. It is enough to remove it, and then put the parts in their places.

It also happens that the ring is not in this place. In this case, you need to unscrew the inner cheek of the variator mechanism. On the outside there is usually a thrust plate, under which weights are mounted. After unscrewing the plate, you should put the remaining parts in their places. There is no need to remount the plate on the scooter.

In some cases, scooter riders are faced with a situation where the CVT ring and plate are missing, but there is still a maximum speed limit. In such a situation, you need to check the bushing. It may contain a protrusion that acts as a ring. There are two options for solving the problem - purchase a new bushing, or ask a turner to grind the protrusion

It is important to ensure that the surface does not become oversharpened. After regrinding the treated unit, you need to reassemble the variator

Why is it wiser to contact specialists when removing the limiter?

Despite the fact that such events can be carried out alone, it is still recommended to seek the help of professionals, and there are several reasons for this:

1. If you exceed the power of the MK, which is indicated on it, the mechanism will inevitably begin to overheat. Therefore, the power unit should operate at maximum speed for a short time, but the rest of the time, it should not exceed the rated power. It is significantly lower than the maximum, so you can count on safe operation of the electric motor.

2. Checking the safety margin of the MK in many cases entails its combustion, so experts do not recommend exceeding the load on the power unit by more than twice. To determine the actual power consumption of the MK in different modes, you will have to use a device such as an ammeter. To calculate the actual power value (in W), you will need to multiply the current (in A) by the operating voltage (in V). It is not recommended to supply such power for a long time.

3. It is preferable to buy motorized wheels and use them together with control units that match their characteristics - their power does not exceed loads that are safe for a particular electric motor.

4. The use of a high-power control device can increase traction on the electric motor, but whether the speed indicator will ultimately increase depends on the applied voltage.

5. If in hot weather you decide to use a controller whose power exceeds the maximum power of the electric motor, then expect overheating of the windings, melting of the insulating material, as well as an interturn short circuit. The result of all this is disappointing: even after a short run, you will have to rewind the electric motor, purchase a new electric motor, or pedal.
