In fact, the Baltmotors engineers were faced with not the most difficult task - to improve an already good motorcycle in its class. Which is exactly what they did, taking the solid Street 200 DD as a basis, slightly modifying it and installing a new engine, a copy of the proven engine from Suzuki. The air-cooled 250 cc 4-valve power unit (21 hp, 19.5 Nm) behaves with dignity, quite dynamically accelerating the motorcycle to a maximum speed of 110 km/h . True, peak torque occurs at around 6000 rpm, and peak power at 7500 rpm, while vibrations begin to bother you after about 6000 rpm.


Otherwise, the Baltmotors Street 250 DD is a mixture of old and new. The classic 5-speed transmission and carburetor are combined with excellent brakes, responsive and effective. The front wheel has two brake discs with 2-piston calipers , and the rear wheel has another one with a 1-piston caliper. The throttle, by the way, has a long stroke - this, of course, is not a drawback, but you need to get used to this feature. But for ergonomics you can give a plus - with average height, sitting on Baltmotors Street 250 DD is very comfortable, no doubt. True, tall bikers may have some problems.


The motorcycle gets another big plus for its handling. It perfectly obeys the steering wheel (sorry, clip-ons) at any speed, and the suspension handles road irregularities with a solid five. The only advantage of the Forester is that it drives and does not break down, but how it drives is a separate question.
