The bike was created based on the Honda XR 250 motorcycle released in 1985 and the next model in the series, the Honda CRF. Last winter, I thought about buying a pit bike, their price is not high, and I wanted to ride around the steppe. I decided that if I were to buy, it would be better to buy directly from China, since there is more choice there and it will be cheaper. While choosing pit bikes, I saw a Chinese endurik and got excited about it. He suggested to his sister that she split the amount of the motorcycle in half and she agreed. I found this motorcycle, read all the disadvantages and shortcomings, realized that I would have to thoroughly improve it, and I even liked it. Then there was a month of negotiations with the factory regarding the delivery and configuration of the motorcycle, then another month of assembly and a month of delivery, in the end it arrived around February. This motorcycle is known as Motoland xr 250 pro or Mikilon D10-250. This is a 250cc, single cylinder, 4 valve liquid cooled motorcycle with Fastace suspension. On the same day I started assembling it; lifting the motorcycle was quite difficult; it took me about an hour to install the wheel. There were a lot of impressions, the motorcycle was tall and I really liked it, it suited my height perfectly (190 cm). Having quickly riveted a stand for the motorcycle, I began disassembling and inspecting it. The quality of the parts and assembly was, to put it mildly, terrible, the front wheel was a figure eight and also an egg, I straightened it into more or less decent condition.

I decided to immediately disassemble the muffler and check it; it was poorly assembled and had many cracks. The joints were coated with silicone and everything was riveted back.
Then I began to disassemble the rear suspension, the absence of any lubrication did not surprise me, but what surprised me was that in one hole, instead of a bearing, there was an ordinary steel bushing that rubbed against an aluminum progression.
A needle bearing was ordered and inserted in place of the bushing, everything fit perfectly.
The motorcycle was assembled, the oil was changed, the antifreeze was changed, and we waited for spring.
The first rides showed that the motorcycle was running sluggishly, stalled when stopping and did not hold speed, I thought it was a problem with the valves and started tuning. To be sure, I inserted the hexagon into the spark plug hole to find out the top point, and then something happened that I did not expect: when lifting the piston, the hexagon jammed and it broke, a piece remained in the cylinder. I was desperate, what should I do? Even if it is possible to get the remaining piece, the fragments can damage the cylinder mirror. Without thinking twice, I decided to disassemble the engine, within an hour I removed it from the motorcycle and brought it home the next day. Washed and disassembled
I was a little freaked out by what I saw; there were scuff marks on the piston and cylinder. Where? I haven't started the bike since the hex key broke.
Then I spilled the valves, gasoline flowed like a river from the intake valves, after drying them out on the seats and the valves themselves, I saw these small metal balls, they were everywhere!
I later found the same balls on the piston and rings.
Having solved the problem by washing the head, I began to assemble the engine. After assembling the valves, they all held up perfectly; when installing the timing chain guide, I noticed some detail at the bottom of the engine. What it is and where it comes from, I still don’t understand and couldn’t find information anywhere.
There was also no bolt on the gas distributor shaft for the bearing.
I added an additive to the oil on the advice of a friend, this additive contains molybdenum disulfide, it increases the lubricating properties of the oil at elevated temperatures, it forms a sulfide film on spare parts (according to my chemistry teacher), and prevents scuffing. This was my first experience in disassembling and assembling an engine, after installation it started immediately, began to maintain stable speed and run quieter. It was tested in the shitter, the tests were successful, it is still being run-in, the suspension makes me happy, it responds to adjustments, and overall I am happy with the motorcycle.

Flaws
At first glance, it seems that the Motoland XR 250 is a real dream motorcycle: good technical characteristics coupled with an affordable price of around 80 thousand rubles. However, it also has its drawbacks.
This bike model is a complete copy of Honda, but does not match its quality. Most owners of Chinese motorcycles are faced with this problem: some have a bike that runs for several seasons without breakdowns, while others encounter problems and malfunctions literally on the second day of use. Quite often among Chinese motorcycles there are factory defects, and often quite serious ones. However, truly high-quality specimens are no less rare.
What are we complaining about?
Owners of the Motoland XR 250 primarily note that the rear suspension of the motorcycle is too stiff. In some models, you may encounter a lack of side lights and turn signals, which greatly complicates movement in the city. However, their presence is not necessary if the bike is designed as sports equipment. However, then it is prohibited to travel on it within the city.
Owners often note poor build quality, encounter a bent front wheel, lack of lubrication or insufficient lubrication in the bearings, and cracks in the muffler. New motorcycles may have clogged air filters, and batteries will have to be charged immediately after purchase.
When overhauling an engine, judging by the reviews, you may encounter a large number of minor defects, ranging from a lack of parts to a large amount of small debris remaining after tumbling the castings.
Results
As you can see, purchasing cross-country Chinese motorcycles is a risky business, comparable to a lottery. In terms of price-quality ratio, the Motoland XR 250 bike is one of the best, provided that the buyer is able to make some adjustments and properly modify it.
After purchasing a motorcycle, you need to carefully check it, replace low-quality and suspicious parts with new ones (it is preferable to choose Japanese-made analogues), seal the cracks in the muffler with sealant and lubricate the parts. The carburetor may need to be adjusted, but this can be attributed to the advantages of the motorcycle: with the correct and good settings, a motocross bike really “pulls”.
When purchasing a Motoland XR 250 motocross motorcycle, you should immediately add ten to twenty thousand to its cost, which will be needed to refine the equipment and replace mechanisms. If the future owner is knowledgeable about technology or knows those who are specialists in this field, then the Motoland XR 250 bike can be quickly brought to life, turning it into a reliable vehicle for extreme trips.
