TOP 5 Chinese cross-enduro motorcycles
The article is relevant at the end of 2021, beginning of 2021.
In 2021, I already reviewed the TOP 5 Chinese cross-enduro motorcycles, but now it is not very relevant. Some manufacturers disappeared into oblivion, and new ones took their place. I've changed my mind about some motorcycles. Last time I divided enduro into “sport” enduro and dual sports. This time there is no point in this, since almost all dual-purpose motorcycles are now not sold in Russia. And the ones that remain, I’ll put here. Baltmotors, however, promise to resume sales of their dual sports and, in addition to the already well-known and quite successful BM200 and 250, which are nothing more than the renamed CHINCHI, they also promise to bring new items - touring enduro motorcycles for long-distance riders, with an aerodynamic body kit and panniers. But that won’t be so soon, but now I’ll tell you about the motorcycles available for order now......
For convenience, I will name the range of prices, since everyone asks for it. The principles of Chinese motorcycle construction have not changed; the better the components, the more expensive the enduro motorcycles themselves are. To put it simply, pay the price for shit and sticks, you get shit and sticks. And then you shouldn’t be surprised that the motorcycle you bought for half a ton begins to fall apart. And so let's go......
Content:
5th place. Price category from 80 to 100 with kopecks, thousand rubles
This time there is no “legendary” snow leopard ttr250 here, since, thank the higher powers, it is no longer sold, but its brothers remain. Here you can add almost its copy - the Motoland XR250 enduro motorcycle. Also in this place are Motoland Enduro 250LT, ST, EX and their twin brother YX250GY-C5C from the arms factory named after. Degtyareva. The no less “legendary” LIFAN GY-5 also left us, but it was replaced by the LIFAN GY-3B, which essentially differs only in its more modern appearance. In 5th place are also Racer Enduro RC200GY-C2 and some other similar vehicles. I don’t know why they make such long and complex names, apparently to improve my diction. So, what all these enduro motorcycles have in common is that they are made from slightly undercooked rice. What did you want for this money, lobsters? But I can’t call these motorcycles bad, because they are really cheap. If you look after them and use them for their intended purpose, then they still somehow live. By design, this means driving maximum on gravel roads and forest paths. No trampolines or jumps. And forget about participating in Romagnax on them. But in general the Chinese motorcycle industry shouldn’t be judged by these motorcycles. Like I said, what you pay for is what you get…….
4th place. Enduro motorcycles with prices up to 130 thousand
In addition to the Kayo K1 and T2, Motoland CRF250, as well as the BSE J1/J2, which I talked about last year, newcomers have been added - these are the Motoland WRX250 KT, Lite, XT250 HS, XR250 Lite, GR1, Avantis enduro 250 air and ZUUM PX220. Perhaps some others. And again, I repeat, if you want to start understanding the world of enduro, then you should start with at least such motorcycles. The engine is the same for all, 166th. This is a successfully copied Honda engine with a volume of 225 cc. see, which was invented around the same time... with the wheel. He's weak, but reliable. Good for beginners. The suspensions on these motorcycles are, of course, simple, but also quite reliable...... A very interesting Racer RC300-GY8A Enduro 300 bursts into their company. An excellent 300 cc engine, air-oil cooling, but savings on such things as steering wheels and rims .
3rd place with a range of prices up to 170 thousand wooden
Newcomers here again are the GR7 lite, Avantis, ZUUM CR250CB, and also the Motoland XT250 ST. All these mopeds have a new Chinese engine, marked 172FMM. This engine is air cooled with a 2 valve head. This is, in fact, the evolution of the good old 166 engine. The volume here is no longer 225, but a full 250 cubic meters. cm. And obviously, in addition to the volume, the engine was generally modified. The volume increased by only 10%, and the return by as much as 30%. The power has increased from 16 to 21 horses and you can really feel it, especially in the low and medium speed zone. This unit, in terms of torque, is not much inferior to aerial vehicles from the Japanese, such as the Yamaha TTR250 or Honda XR250. Yes, yes, I know, don’t bomb... In the same price category, you can grab a Motoland XR250 Pro, with a 170 engine, 25 hp. But despite the seemingly increased power, this is compensated by the large weight of the moped. In addition, the 170th engine is more complex in design than the 172nd, and also has water cooling, which means radiators that can easily be torn off. And one more new product, which, based on its characteristics, could be placed in 2nd place, Racer SR-X2 Cross X2, but... As they say, there is one “BUT”. The engine on it is 174. This is a 172nd engine increased in volume to 280 cm3. Overall he is good. But, besides the engine, they saved on everything they could and even what they couldn’t)) hence the corresponding price tag...
2nd place and price from 180 to almost 250 mowers
The enduro motorcycles BM Dakar and Minsk ERX left us from this place, but there are plenty of other similar motorcycles in this category. The peculiarity of the motors at this place is the 177th engine with a carburetor, volume 250 cm3. The least expensive representatives are BSE J5 and M2. Simple no-name suspensions, carbs that don’t always work properly, cast hubs and traverses. In general, savings on everything. But there are already quite mature and reliable 177 units, with water cooling and 4 valves. More expensive brothers, such as Avantis 250 pro carb, GR7 pro 4-stroke, ZUUM CX250 CB, the same BSE J5, but in the S-Pro and RS version as well as the BSE M4, so these motorcycles differ in addition higher price, already more expensive components. The traverses and hubs are milled, the rims and steering wheel are of higher quality, the carburetors are more interesting, and in general the quality of workmanship also increases depending on the price. In general, this is practically a Chinese tramp, if it weren’t for the Pepelats from first place….
1st place... Price from 230 to almost 300 fucking thousand rubles
ASIAWING has essentially abandoned us; you either can’t buy it, or you can, but for some inadequate money. In general, we don’t count it. But we still consider the injection first-born among the Chinese, Kayo K6. The fuel-injected Avantis 250 and 300 PRO, as well as the carb 450 Pro, were added to its company. Moreover, for me, the 300 is more interesting than the 450. Firstly, the injector. Secondly, although the 300 is weaker, it is also noticeably lighter. Speaking of 450s, it is worth mentioning the BSE M8 - not a bad representative in its class... Also excellent representatives of this category are the BSE RTC-300 and the latest ZUUM CR300NC and CX300NC, which we tested in Crimea not so long ago. To their company we add the GR7 2T, which is a little unusual for the class. The motor is a licensed copy of the excellent engine from Yamaha dt230 Lanza. Good suspension and excellent brakes, but as they say, there are some nuances...
Conclusion
Despite the fact that even though the Chinese are developing, they are about the same distance from modern Europeans as... from here to the moon, on a pit bike. But they are trying. But seriously, every year the gap is narrowing. In addition, do not forget that the cheapest of the modern European hard enduro motorcycles is the Italian Beta, with a price twice as expensive as the top Chinese motorcycles. KTM, Haska and company are even more expensive. So in their price category, Chinese mopeds are quite a sound choice. They are perfect for amateur enduro. Many will say that it is better to take a Japanese car, for example a Honda CRF or a Yamaha WR-F, and perhaps they will be right. But it’s worth considering that these spendthrifts are no longer girls at all, and if something happens to the engine, you’ll most likely have to sell... some part of your body to cover the cost of repairs. And let’s be objective, Chinese tops are not particularly inferior to these Japanese ones... Another category of motorcycles that can be taken up to 270 thousand are old two-stroke Europeans. But the maintenance of such equipment is still not cheap, and if you are not going to use the bike exclusively to participate in races and go for results, then most people are unlikely to need them. Although Danila Chernyaev has already proven that it is quite possible to defeat serious guys on new Europeans on Chinamoto...
Review of enduro motorcycles. And let the asphalt wait
Light enduros, and other motorcycles in Russia, are mainly bought used, but, as with road motorcycles, the share of new vehicles is gradually increasing. Let's talk about the new and most interesting models of off-road motorcycles officially sold in our country.
Natalia Umnova
BSE
The Chinese company BSE sells us mainly pit bikes (small motocross motorcycles with a small engine and a horizontal CPG; read a review of pit bikes in one of the upcoming issues of “5 Wheels”). But it also has models that can be classified as enduro.
BSE J2-250E
BSE J5-250E
J1‑250E and J2‑250E are identical externally and internally: equipped with a carburetor 4-stroke air-cooled engine with a power of 17 hp. With. and differ only in wheel size. J5‑250E is a more serious model. It has a water-cooled motor with a capacity of 27 hp. With.
HONDA
This Japanese concern believes that one enduro model is enough for Russia - the CRF250X. No cult XR or at least other cubic capacity for you... Well, at least something.
The CRF250X is a “civilian” version of the cross-country CRF250R: a little softer, calmer, “understanding” - but only a little. With electric starter and lighting devices. The 4-stroke and cubic capacity seem to hint that the CRF250X can be taken as the first enduro motorcycle and ridden on it up to a serious level: the device has enough power and power for any task.
HUSQVARNA
The new TE250i and 300i enduros are equipped with a two-stroke engine with - attention! - fuel injection. The conservative world of off-road motorcycles has capitulated under the pressure of environmentalists. But I only benefited from it. Because now, having retained their 2-stroke character, these enduros are closer to 4-stroke in terms of ease of use and riding: fuel consumption and emissions have become lower, and traction is smoother.
The complete line of enduro motorcycles from the Swedish manufacturer, presented on our market, includes eight 2-stroke and 4-stroke models with engine displacements from 125 to 700 cm3.
KAYO
These “Chinese”, like BSE, have become popular with us due to their pit bikes. But recently full-fledged enduros have appeared in the Kayo line: K1 250, K6 250, T2 250 with two wheel diameters and T4 250 - all with the “surname” Enduro. These 4-stroke carburetor models produce 16 hp. s., with the exception of the K6, differ from each other only in wheel size, wheelbase length (the difference is about 5–10 cm), suspension settings, gas tank volume and, accordingly, weight.
The K6 250 is distinguished by a more powerful (26 hp) water-cooled engine with an injection, longer wheelbase and suspension travel. And also at a price - almost twice as high as other models.
KTM
This year the Austrians have released two interesting new products. KTM 250 EXC TPI with two-stroke engine with fuel injection system. KTM engineers freed the device from the disadvantages of a 2-stroke engine and equipped it with the advantages of a 4-stroke engine: smoother traction over a wide speed range, instant and at the same time smooth reactions to turning the throttle, reduced fuel and oil consumption, automatic correction of the fuel mixture, depending on from environmental conditions, and good environmental performance.
KTM 250/300 EXC TPI.
The new 4-stroke KTM Freeride 250 F is a successor and replacement to the iconic 2-stroke 250 and 4-stroke 350, which at one time “founded” a new class of dual-purpose motorcycles - Freeride, combining versatility and riding pleasure.
The KTM Freeride 250 F, depending on the desires and capabilities of the person riding it, can serve as a classic enduro, a “walking” enduro (trail) or both together, as well as be the first motorcycle for a beginner or a training machine for a professional.
KTM Freeride 250 F.
The new product received a lightweight 4-stroke engine with a capacity of 250 cc and a redesigned and lightweight chassis, which made it possible to achieve an optimal balance of weight (99 kg), power, dynamics and maneuverability.
In total, the line of enduro motorcycles of the Austrian brand, available in Russia, includes 14 models with engines from 250 to 690 cm3.
KAWASAKI
In Russia, this company offers one model of “adult” enduro – KLX450R. The device is equipped with a single-cylinder 4-stroke carburetor engine with a volume of 450 cm3. There is also a children's motorcycle KLX110 with a capacity of 7.3 liters. With. and smaller size.
Kawasaki KLX110.
Kawasaki KLX450R.
SHERCO
The Spanish-French company quickly gained a good reputation among enduro and motocross enthusiasts thanks to its lightweight, reliable and easy-to-ride motorcycles.
Sherco 450 SEF-R.
This year, the 4-stroke models 250/300/450 SEF-R have been seriously updated: ergonomics and comfort, traction at low speeds, access to the radiator, ignition settings have been improved; The shape of the fairings has been changed and the weight has been slightly reduced.
Sherco 125 SE-R.
A new model has appeared in the 2-stroke line - 125 SE-R, equipped with an electric starter. The 250 SE-R and 300 SE-R receive virtually the same updates as their 4-stroke comrades.
YAMAHA
The WR450F now features an engine with a reverse-slant cylinder head, a forward-facing air intake and a curved rear exhaust system. This design improves intake and exhaust efficiency, which in turn optimizes the engine's high linear torque and provides plenty of power reserves.
A new aluminum frame with a double-sided beam, optimized suspension settings, reshaped fairings for easier access to the air filter, a new engine management program and the ability to set many settings yourself using a smartphone application, an electric starter without a switch - these are just the most noticeable changes in the model 2021.
ZERO
If Harley-Davidson is thinking about an electric motorcycle, then it’s impossible to ignore the Zero brand, which has been on the market for a long time, producing light on-road and off-road motorcycles.
Zero FX is equipped with an electric motor that produces 106 Nm of torque from the very start - a serious help on off-road terrain. The absence of exhaust and noiselessness allow you to use this electric motorcycle for competitions and training indoors, as well as in protected natural areas, and just ride around a holiday village without fear of angering your neighbors.
There are two variants of Zero FX. One is equipped with a modular battery design consisting of two independent quick-release batteries: the motorcycle can be powered by either one or both simultaneously. Electric motor power - 27 hp. s., motorcycle weight - 112 kg, power reserve 30–75 km.
The second version has a one-piece frame-integrated battery design, while performance figures are almost doubled compared to the modular version: power 46 hp. s., power reserve 63–146 km. Weight - 135 kg.

Chinese 250cc enduro motorcycles – overview of the main models
Enduro motorcycles are a long-known classification of equipment that has good cross-country ability and is often used for off-road travel. Motorcycles of this class are often called cross-country motorcycles; the main requirements for them are high quality parts and ease of maintenance. Modern enduros are equipped with all the necessary functions and have a reliable, durable design that ensures proper movement on forest and mountain roads, an ideal option for the Russian user.
But not everyone can afford to buy a real enduro; motorcycles usually made in Japan have a price tag of more than 4 thousand dollars. Therefore, an excellent alternative would be to buy Chinese analogues, represented by dozens of models with different characteristics. But among Chinese technology, the most acceptable engine size for enduro is considered to be 250 cc. Two types of similar motorcycles are offered for the Russian market;
- Without a title, the owner will not register the motorcycle and will not receive a license plate;
- With a title, driving on city roads is allowed; the motorcycle has improved comfort and soft suspension.
Chinese enduros are distinguished by their low cost, rich assortment, and good build quality and parts. At a minimum cost, you can buy a Stealth enduro motorcycle or another brand for a price starting from $1,100. The engine capacity of 250 cubic meters allows you to overcome the most difficult obstacles; the power is quite enough for mountain trails or other uneven terrain. Already today there are several of the most popular Chinese enduro models that are successfully sold on the Russian market. Let's look at some of them.
Model Irbis TTR 250
One of the most popular models of the Irbis brand, the TTR 250 motorcycle is presented as an enduro for off-road driving, equipped with a powerful engine and excellent suspension. The main task facing the engineers was to ensure maximum maneuverability through fords, forests and even for jumping at height. This is precisely what the main emphasis was placed on, so one should not place high hopes on the maximum speed; the indicated figure was 120 km/h. When driving on the road, this model performs best, handling is good, grip on asphalt is at the proper level, and for long trips, fuel consumption will be only 3 liters per hundred.
The grip on the bike is as good as it gets, all good 250cc enduro bikes are. cm have cross-country tires with minimal wear during extreme driving. For better comfort, the suspension of the Irbis TTR 250 consists of front telescopic forks and rear monoshock, an excellent combination at an affordable price. This Chinese car is completely ready for driving around the city; it has all the main components, such as turn signals, rear-view mirrors, and headlights. Among the disadvantages of the TTR 250 model, it should be noted that there is no speedometer and the plastic is too weak.
The price of such an enduro is very attractive and starts at 80 thousand rubles.
Model Baltmotors Enduro 250 DD
Another Chinese off-road vehicle, a model from a well-known brand in Russia, which is distinguished by the high quality of its models and excellent performance. The enduro motorcycle from Baltmotors is the best solution for many lovers of comfortable extreme movement; at 7,500 rpm it is capable of producing 21 horsepower. These characteristics also indicate a maximum acceleration of 110 km/h; the model has been produced since 2011. Thousands of similar models have already been officially sold in Russia, the reviews are mostly positive.
Despite the fact that the motorcycle is considered Chinese and spare parts for it are supplied from the Middle Kingdom, due to assembly in our country, Russia is considered the manufacturer. The suspension is used as in all Chinese models, with a fork in front and a monoshock absorber in the rear. The frame is durable steel. The overall dimensions are also not very different from competitors; the length of 2,200 mm and width of 830 mm turned out to be convenient.
Economy is due not only to the availability of inexpensive spare parts and the overall cost of enduro, but also to fuel consumption - an average of 3 l/100 km.
Usually the concept of the best Chinese enduro motorcycles is quite standard; just take a couple of basic models with the same characteristics, and you will get a good motocross motorcycle for performing simple tricks, riding in the countryside, relaxing in the forest, or just “riding” with friends. There are not too many differences between these two models; they practically do not differ in suspension, have the same engine performance and acceleration dynamics. The only thing that can distinguish these two enduros is the build quality and reliability of the parts. But often, with such difficult use of a motorcycle, not everyone will be able to protect the Chinese enduro from minor breakdowns.

Description Beta RR 250 Enduro 2007
The description of the Beta RR 250 Enduro 2007 motorcycle is in the queue for publication of the article. Announcement: Today, for almost every new motorcycle that comes into being, marketers strive to carve out their own niche. This one is a road sport, this one is a recreational enduro. But what class should we include a motorcycle that has a little bit of everything? A good bike should have a reliable engine, comfortable ergonomics and simple controls.
Despite the fact that good models of motorcycles have a very respectable price, and the season for their use is relatively short, the motorcycle market is developing rapidly. And if you believe the words of dealers, then some models of recently released motorcycles are selling like hot cakes at the beginning of the season, and the models brought to Russia are clearly not enough to fully satisfy consumer demand.
A motorcycle has long ceased to be an alternative to a car, and the times when this equipment was bought only because there was not enough money for a full-fledged car are forgotten. Nowadays, two-wheelers can be called technological marvels in many cases, and their cost can be compared with that of prestigious cars.
Many people have started buying motorcycles for hobby purposes as riding or even collecting them has become a good pastime for many people. Many motorcycles, for example the Beta RR 250 Enduro, whose technical characteristics allow the model to be called a prestigious brand, are in demand among both beginners and experienced motorcyclists.
Motorcycles with an engine capacity of 398 cc. see, appeared as a result of long work of inventors who sought to create a model that was not inferior in characteristics to other versions of the motorcycle. In some cases, these models are not only not inferior, but also ahead of other motorcycles, as they have minimal fuel consumption and other excellent parameters.
Motorcycles from 250 to 400 kb. see which includes the Beta RR 250 Enduro - this is the most common class of motorcycles. In this range you already have a choice among almost all classes of motorcycles. Many people call this category the most suitable for a first motorcycle. You can purchase a moderately heavy, powerful and flexible motorcycle for relatively little money. Many people advise taking a road bike with a 400 cc engine as your first choice. We cannot completely agree with this, because such motorcycles often weigh about 200 kg and have a sufficient power reserve. If your skills in riding a two-wheeled vehicle are limited to a training motorcycle at a motorcycle school, then you should not immediately take such a device. Many beginners get into ridiculous accidents simply because they do not know all the features of operating such equipment. After all, the heavier and more powerful the motorcycle, the better you should know how to handle it in different situations. Even a monkey can just drive in a straight line (no joke).

Road repair of a generator on a Java 634 motorcycle
During a long trip on a YAVA-350 motorcycle model “634.01” the generator suddenly failed. As a result of disassembly and testing using a light bulb and battery, I discovered that one of the armature windings was broken to ground, which caused the generator to produce insufficient voltage. An external inspection could not find the location of the short circuit, so I proceeded as follows. Having wrapped the armature commutator with copper wire (thus connecting all the armature windings in parallel), I connected a powerful 12 V car battery between the commutator and the armature core. The faulty winding quickly heated up, began to smoke and sparked at the point of closure - where the winding wire bends and enters the groove of the core. Then it’s a matter of technology. Moving the wire away from the sharp edge of the core, I insulated the wire and filled the repair area with nail polish. The generator started working. With this anchor I returned home safely, and I’m still traveling to this day. already more than 5000 kilometers, and have not noticed any interruptions or any kind.
Java 634-7-00
New model YAVA-634 7.00 appeared in stores selling motorcycles this year. This machine is a further modernization of the base model YAVA-634 (“Behind the wheel.” 1974, No. 8). which, after improvements in 1977, received the index JAVA-634.8.00 (“Behind the Wheel,” 1977, No. 3). A new block of control devices: on the left is the speedometer, on the right is the tachometer, in the center are warning lights. The 1981 YAVA motorcycle differs from previous modifications primarily in the new block of control instruments (tachometer, speedometer, four warning lights), elastically mounted on the front fork. The tachometer (new on road cars of this brand) is mechanically driven. In addition, the shape of the switches (made in the GDR) and control levers located on the steering wheel has been changed. Gas tank, switches and levers on the steering wheel. Other innovations include increased capacity from 16.2 to 17 liters and modified.
Java Automatic
With an automatic centrifugal clutch engagement mechanism, the motorcycle has existed for more than half a century. Throughout this time, he has constantly improved. And today, tireless work continues to increase engine power, improve the layout of the car, and increase comfort. Every year hundreds of applications are received by patent offices. In recent years, many designers have been busy developing new types of engines for single-track vehicles. Experimental models with such equipment have already appeared on the roads. If we take into account that the path from experimental samples to serial production sometimes takes a decade, then we can assume that the appearance of radically new machines is not in the near future. Work aimed at making the motorcycle easier to drive is much closer to completion. Relatively recently, the attention of motorcycle industry specialists was drawn to two Javas. The red cars were not much different in appearance from their well-known counterparts. And the layout is the same.

Motorcycle IZH Jupiter 5K 01. Jupiter is the fifth and last?
Jupiter is the fifth and last? By the beginning of winter, when I started writing this report, the editorial “Jupiter-5K-01” began to spin sixteen thousand kilometers. Such mileage does not yet allow us to give comprehensive information about the advantages and disadvantages of the model. Nevertheless, there are enough impressions; experts say that to determine the quality of a dish it is not necessary to eat it entirely. We will follow this principle. To begin with, despite the radical red color, I did not notice any revolutionary changes in Jupiter-5. Essentially, this is the same, well-known IZH-Jupiter with a more modern appearance. Of course, there is movement for the better, but only with the goal of “holding out” the motorcycle, at a time when a qualitative leap is needed. The product was forged purely for domestic consumption; it is clear that Izhmash is not yet planning to compete with such thoroughbred horses as, for example, BMW, Honda or Yamaha.
TOP 10 enduro made in China
Chinese enduro motorcycles occupy a leading position in the modern motor market, captivating with their cheapness, good quality and attractive design. Of course, they are not ahead of the world leaders, but they have good sales figures in their segment. For novice riders, Chinese enduro motorcycles will come in handy.
IRBIS TTR 250R
“Irbis” TTR 250R is a real enduro in its full sense. This is manifested both externally and in terms of technical equipment. Easy to drive and obedient on the road, it adequately overcomes absolute off-road conditions: potholes and potholes. It can cover considerable distances and perform tricks of varying complexity. A review of the Stealth 250 Enduro is presented in this video:
STELS 400 Enduro
This is a 400 cc Chinese crosser, which is mainly designed for jumping over bumps and jumps, as well as for splashing mud off-road.
The external design of the motorbike is collective, since for its development Chinese engineers borrowed ideas from many Japanese colleagues. In general, “Stealth 400” turned out to be sporty, daring and, in a positive way, frivolous. It is easy to operate even for beginners. More information has been written about choosing the right enduro for a beginner here.

Loncin LX 250GY-3
Loncin LX 250GY-3 is a nimble enduro motorcycle that even those who are on a budget can afford. The buyer will become the owner of a worthy “partner” on the off-road journey. It makes no sense to say that the motorcycle passes over asphalt surfaces easily and maneuverably.
The discreet style with the correct smooth geometry in the forms makes the Loncin LX 250GY-3 deceptive to others. In fact, this modest-looking bike delivers competitive performance on the racetrack.
