Back in 2014, the Chinese company Irbis first introduced the utilitarian ATV Irbis ATV 200 U. This budget model has been supplied to the Russian Federation for more than 7 years. Despite the average power and dimensions, the device is suitable for both teenagers and adult riders. Irbis ATV 200U can withstand a load of 150 kg and accelerate to 65 km/h.
In addition to the ATV 200 U, the utilitarian “U” line includes 5 more devices.
The lineup
- Irbis 110 U. The car is equipped with independent suspension, 110 cc engine, electric starter and disc brakes. The first version of the device in 2012 was not particularly reliable . The operational life of the model was 2-3 years. However, since 2017, the company has modernized the equipment, strengthened the frame and installed new “filling”. This had a beneficial effect on the durability of the machine.
- Irbis 125 U. This is a teenage ATV that has a 123 cc engine, 8-inch wheels, disc brakes and independent suspension. However, the model has the same problem as its predecessor - low service life. Even from small loads, the frame of the device is deformed, the plastic cracks, and components fail.
- Irbis 150 U. The model was produced from 2014 to 2021. The first version of the all-terrain vehicle is equipped with a 150 cc four-stroke engine. cm, CVT with reverse, air cooling, electric starter and pendulum suspension.
- Irbis 250 U. In technical terms, the ATV is identical to the 200 U model. Only the design and equipment of the device differs .
- The utilitarian series is headed by the Irbis ATV 300 U ATV. The model has a 278 cc engine, independent suspension, electric starter, disc brakes and a spacious gas tank (9.3 l).
The series devices differ only in design, engine size and minor technical parameters. That is why all ATVs in the line have similar problems - low quality plastic, frame and wiring, as well as poor stability.

Reviews
- I purchased this ATV for my son. At first glance, the device is very good, but it also has its drawbacks. For some reason, the chain often falls off even though the equipment is not under heavy loads. The plastic looks rather weak, but we don’t want to test its strength yet. Sometimes there are problems with the headlights, I tried to fix it, but it only helped for a while. Otherwise, we really liked the Irbis. The engine pulls well and does not accelerate the model over 60 kilometers per hour, which is a plus for safety. The suspension is very good, it handles almost perfectly on uneven surfaces. Stability is poor only on sharp turns, and even at high speed, but in such conditions we do not use it. In general, as an entertainment, it’s a very good option for your money, and it also gives you experience in owning ATVs.
- The Irbis ATV 200U ATV attracted my attention because of its cost, because I wanted to find out what kind of equipment it was, but I didn’t want to pay a lot of money. In almost all respects, I really liked this quadric, especially in control. Its controls are very simple and responsive. When driving over rough terrain there is no feeling of discomfort; the suspension does its job perfectly. Cross-country ability is not to say high, but quite sufficient. I don’t regret the purchase at all, quite the contrary, because the car brings a lot of positive impressions, and this, in my opinion, is the most important thing. The model taught me a lot, now I’m thinking about buying a more powerful device, but I still don’t intend to sell this one.
Specifications

Review of the IRBIS 200U ATV
ATV design and construction
This model belongs to the small-class utilitarian ATVs.
Since the Irbis ATV 200 U belongs to the budget segment , it is a good option for those who are interested in this type of motorcycle, but are not yet ready to shell out a lot of money for it.
Irbis ATV 200 U has a relatively simple design , which provides good reliability to the ATV.
There is a certain minimalism in the design of this technique. There is a tubular frame to which all other equipment is attached - suspension, powertrain and wheels.
The presence of plastic elements is kept to a minimum.
Only the wings of the ATV are made of this material, combined with the footrests, a small decorative hood in front and protective pads on the sides.
This has a positive effect on washing the ATV after trips and there is virtually no possibility of quickly damaging the plastic elements.
The ATV frame and suspension elements are painted black.
But for plastic elements there are three types of coloring - black, and two camouflages - reed and gray.
The low weight of the Irbis ATV 200 U with an installed independent double-wishbone suspension provides it with excellent handling , and reinforced shock absorbers provide a smooth ride .
At the front, the suspension elements are protected by a tubular bumper, which is structurally integrated with the front trunk, which provides comprehensive protection for the front end.
Two round headlights are mounted on the wide front fenders .
Behind the suspension is the power plant. It is single-cylinder, but with 4 power strokes.
Its power rating is not particularly high, but it provides good traction .
The appearance of the Suzuki SV 400 motorcycle can be safely defined as impeccable. I wonder why? Then read our review.
A good representative of the Enduro class is a motorcycle from the Japanese company Suzuki:
The power plant operates with a manual transmission. It is 4-speed and also has reverse .
The drive of the Irbis ATV 200 U is only on the rear axle, and it is carried out by a chain.
The rear axle suspension is pendulum, monoshock absorber. But the front wheels and the rear axle are equipped with disc brakes.
The front brakes are set deep into the wheel rims to prevent contamination.
The ATV's tank is small and located above the power plant.
Behind the tank there is a seat designed for one person. There is another storage rack behind the seat.
The instrument panel of the Irbis ATV 200 U consists of only one speedometer located in front of the steering wheel.
To increase cross-country ability, this ATV has front tires with dimensions of 23x7-10, and rear tires with dimensions of 22x7-10.
The tires have developed lugs.
This ATV is not super powerful or has special off-road capabilities, but it is compact and handles well , which should appeal to outdoor enthusiasts.
Competitors
The main competition for the ATV 200 U is from other vehicles of the same series. Many buyers prefer the more compact 150 U model, and users who need high power and maneuverability choose the 300 U.
Considering the low cost of the device (100-120 thousand rubles), it does not have many competitors. Only Russian, Taiwanese and Chinese devices .
Competitors of Irbis ATV 200 U:
- ABM Apache The Russian device is equipped with a 170 cc engine. cm (12 hp), disc brakes, CVT with reverse and a seat with a backrest. The technology is superior to the Chinese in terms of reliability, maneuverability and comfort.
- Armada ATV 200 L. The Taiwanese budget vehicle is equipped with a 176 cc engine (14.2 hp), automatic transmission, reinforced suspension and disc brakes. The machine is intended for riders over 13 years of age, but the equipment can also be used by adult drivers.
- Kayo Bull will be an excellent solution for lovers of fishing and outdoor activities. The compact Chinese device is distinguished by high power (10 hp) and reliability. Owners note that serious problems with the Bull 150 appear only after 1.5-2 years of operation.
Russian-Chinese ZID 200 Tarpan will also be a good alternative to the Irbis 200 U ATV The model has good cross-country ability and high ground clearance. Unfortunately, the ZID was released in 2005, so finding a new device is now almost impossible.
Price
As described above, Chinese ATVs have quite an adequate cost for their performance indicators and technical capabilities. This rule is also typical for this ATV.
The Irbis ATV 200U model without mileage now has a price ranging from 120 thousand rubles to 150 thousand Russian rubles, depending on the year of manufacture and configuration.
In addition, you can also find a completely decent option (in terms of technical condition) for an even lower price on the used market. True, it is worth highlighting that a used car may require additional investments, but this again depends on the condition and operating conditions of the owner. Thus, the average cost of a used Irbis ATV 200 ATV ranges from 65 thousand rubles to 100 thousand Russian rubles.
Repair and tuning
Judging by the reviews of the owners, the Irbis 200 U ATV does not need any special tuning. Users only recommend carrying out a full inspection, replacing some of the wiring and bleeding the brakes . There is simply no point in further improvements, since the device will only last 2-3 years.
With repairs, the situation is completely opposite. The owner is recommended to stock up on parts; the first aid kit should contain: brake pads, shock absorbers, spark plugs, cables and other small spare parts. Despite decent technical characteristics, the Irbis ATV 200 U constantly breaks down. Most often, riders have problems with ignition, plastic and wiring . The only plus is the low cost and prevalence of parts.

Advantages and disadvantages
Reviews about the Irbis ATV with a 200 cc engine are mostly negative . The owners noted:
- Low cross-country ability. The car often overturns and has difficulty driving on difficult off-road conditions.
- Build quality. Immediately after purchase, you should carry out maintenance, tighten the bolts and check all components.
- Wiring problems. Shaking causes problems with the lighting system.
- Poor quality of plastic and frame. The design does not inspire confidence and deforms even under low loads.
In fact, the only advantage of the Chinese ATV is its low cost (120 thousand rubles). However, for the same money the buyer will be able to buy a Taiwanese or Russian all-terrain vehicle.
