Chinese ATVsATVs "IRBIS" (Irbis)
ATVs in Russia have long ceased to be a curiosity.
These all-terrain vehicles help enthusiasts realize their desires, as well as fill their lives with drive and a sense of freedom.
That is why the Chinese produce equipment that is in no way inferior to analogues from Europe and Japan.
Next we will talk about one of the most popular models of the company - Irbis 150.
Advantages
- Low cost. This circumstance often plays a decisive role, since the financial capabilities of the inhabitants of towns and villages are limited.
- Developed dealer network. The company has its own corporate website, where you can find all the necessary information about the sales network of equipment and spare parts. This sets Irbis apart from competitors that do not yet have official representatives in the regions.
- Ease of Management. The model is equipped with an automatic transmission with a CVT, which means that no special skills are required to master it.
- Quite powerful and unpretentious engine. Although the cooling system is air, the airflow is forced, which significantly reduces the risk of engine overheating under high loads.
- Good maneuverability. Even taking into account the limited power of a small engine, the characteristics of the Irbis 150 ATV allow it to successfully overcome even difficult obstacles and navigate through mud or snow.
- Attractive design. Despite the fact that the car has been produced for quite a long time, due to the changes regularly made by the developers, albeit minor ones, it does not look outdated.
- Simplicity and low cost of maintenance. Spare parts for the Irbis 150 ATV are available.

The Irbis 150, despite its impressive appearance, is quite easy to drive and does not require a driver's license. The modern youth design of the ATV makes it especially attractive. We bring to your attention a small photo selection of this utility.
Flaws
- Lack of all-wheel drive. Torque is transmitted only to the rear axle, which can become a problem in certain situations.
- Limited frame strength. The seat format allows you to accommodate not only the driver, but also the passenger, but you should not exceed the load set by the manufacturer. If two Chinese meet the limit of 136 kilograms, then the residents of our country will first have to carefully weigh everything.
- Mediocre dynamic performance. The maximum speed of 55 km/h specified by the manufacturer will not seem enough to many.
- Insufficient service life of some parts. For example, sprockets for the Irbis 150 ATV are in high demand because they wear out quite quickly. True, they are inexpensive, and replacing them is not too difficult.
Since the car was originally created as a utilitarian one, its design is quite simple and lacks the frills of expensive sports models.
Estimated cost
In its segment, the Irbis 150 all-terrain vehicle with its parameters has very few competitors .
The closest of them is the Grizzly 125 ATV from Yamaha, which costs about 200,000 rubles.
But despite all the similarity in design and technical characteristics of “IRBIS” and “Grizzly”, the first is in no way inferior to its Japanese counterpart .
The Chinese model has a very reasonable price, which, compared to Japanese models, is significantly lower and more attractive to Russians.
Thus, a lightweight ATV with a medium cubic capacity, impressive appearance and easy control, called IRBIS 150, is sold in the Russian Federation at a price of 75,000 rubles.
The element of the Irbis 125 ATV is all kinds of off-road, which, in principle, is not bad, considering the teenage audience.

Reviews
- I have owned this ATV for about 2 years. At the beginning, the technology brought only positive impressions and emotions, but then everything changed. There were cases when a wheel flew off, the frame burst, the body cracked, etc. In short, the quality still leaves much to be desired. Its operational life depends entirely on the conditions of use, so it is very difficult to name it. If you use the ATV in a gentle mode, then the equipment will be in good working order for a long time, but if on the contrary, you will have to regularly buy spare parts. The frame also introduces its own limitations, namely, with a large driver’s weight, various damage may occur, and if it is also loaded, the frame may burst. In principle, for the money the model is quite normal, but in terms of stability it’s generally superb.
- I have been wanting to buy myself an ATV for quite some time. Fortunately, among the advertisements I came across a very budget-friendly and, at first glance, good ATV. Irbis ATV 150 fully justified the investment. I am very pleased with the equipment, I use it both for riding in the forest and for fishing, both in summer and winter. In all this time, the model has not let me down even once, except that all-wheel drive is not enough, since it sometimes cannot handle off-road conditions. But at its price, I think this is not such a disadvantage. Mud can be a problem, but I solved this problem by widening the fenders by installing an old rubber mat.
Competitors
Since the cars in this line are similar, many buyers prefer the older or younger model. Parents choosing a vehicle for a teenager are inclined to choose the ATV 110 U all-terrain vehicle. Buyers who need a quad for fishing and transporting small loads choose the more powerful ATV 250 U model.
The ATV 150 U competes with:
- Taiwanese device Armada 150 R. The car is noticeably more powerful than the Chinese, as much as 13 hp. Armada also looks more attractive due to the “stuffing”; the developers installed electronic ignition, kick starter, electric starter and automatic transmission on the model.
- All-terrain vehicle Storm The equipment of the Chinese brand Kayo stands out for its attractive sporty design, power (10 hp) and comfort. This ATV is ideal for a teenager aged 10 to 16 years . The car is equipped with an automatic transmission, electric starter and good lighting.
- Avantis Hunter 200. The domestic Hunter 200 is an excellent alternative to the Chinese ATV 150 U. Russian equipment is superior to the model from the Middle Kingdom not only in power, but also in equipment . Avantis has installed remote control, speed limiter, mirrors, horn, turn signals, snow chains, etc. on its all-terrain vehicle.
The gap between the Irbis ATV 150U and its competitors is slightly smoothed out by the Chinese price. A new vehicle with a full body kit will cost only 120 thousand rubles.
