The BRP Lynx 69 Yeti Army E-TEC is a high-performance snowmobile popular on the global market. The capabilities of this model are impressive, and this can be said based on the results of successful factory tests, as well as positive user reviews. BRP products are in high demand due to the following criteria - high quality workmanship, long service life and stylish corporate design. Of course, this is exactly what the BRP Lynx 69 Yeti Army 600 E-TEC all-terrain vehicle is, adapted for winter hunting, fishing and long driving in harsh climatic zones.
The model in question belongs to the new BRP model line, which consists of so-called utilitarian snowmobiles with a unique design. Its feature is the modular LXU platform, designed specifically for work in difficult off-road conditions, in mountainous areas and other places characterized by extreme situations. The vehicle was originally developed for the needs of the army, but subsequently received a large number of civilian modifications.
Among other design features of the snowmobile, we note a long studded track, which provides ideal traction on icy surfaces, on loose or icy snow. Particularly noteworthy is the powerful rechargeable battery, which is especially necessary for adaptation to low temperatures. The machine is equipped with a manual starter and a two-speed transmission, and the special suspension design not only simplifies the operation of the snowmobile, but also facilitates the maintenance process - thanks to its high maintainability and accessible spare parts. It is possible to move with the load not only forward, but also in reverse.

Compared to the younger Lynx 59 model, the device in question (Lynx 69 Army 600) has reinforced skis and pads that make handling more precise and sensitive. In addition, such a chassis improves directional stability. Among other innovations, we note a tilt-adjustable steering column. As for the switches and buttons, they remain the same and are located in the usual places. We also note the presence of a large trunk for storing items - documents, personal items, accessories, etc.
The basic equipment of the snowmobile includes the following elements:
- Metal steering wheel with curved handles, 4-step adjustment mode
- High rear view mirror
- Massive windshield
- Towbar
- Tachometer
- Heated grip function
- Instruments showing fuel level

Engine
The car is equipped with an economical power plant that provides power of about 117 horsepower. The productive unit has a two-stroke design, which does not cause problems in maintenance. A car with such an engine consumes an average of 20 liters per 100 km. This motor also features a minimal amount of harmful emissions. According to this indicator, the Rotax 600 E-TEC engine is one of the cleanest two-stroke engines. In addition, it has a light weight of only 188 kg - this is definitely less than that of Yamaha's analogues. Moreover, the engine does not require a large amount of oil - it only needs to be changed once or twice throughout the season.
Please note that the motor in question borrowed the design from the popular Rotax 600 SDI unit. Of course, there are differences that benefit the new engine. Firstly, there is an improved exhaust valve system, as well as direct injection of the fuel mixture. The power plant is lubricated with high-quality oil without any impurities. In addition, the developers have modified the intake and exhaust systems, as well as the combustion chamber, to minimize excessive oil consumption. Separately, we note the proprietary E-TEC technology, thanks to which the Rotax 600 E-TEC engine is even better than some four-stroke internal combustion engines.
A mixed-type cooling system is responsible for ventilation of the internal combustion engine components. It is equipped with a radiator, which is located under the hood, and the cooler itself is installed in the tunnel. This arrangement is also complemented by an electric fan, which maintains the temperature at a certain level. To start the engine, you must use the electric starter. The motor can also be started manually. Fuel tank capacity is 45 liters.
Owner reviews
- Metalist: BRP 69 Yeti Army Limited 800 E-TEC is a super white truck that is designed to tow a large load for a long period (a sort of truck in the world of snowmobiles). At the same time, the snowmobile is equipped with a forced engine with high power, allowing it to travel at great speed. As a result, we have a device that performs various tasks equally well. The quality of the equipment is truly Finnish, there is nothing to complain about here. Gasoline consumption is very low - no more than 15 l/100 km. Personally, I liked the BRP 69 Yeti Army Limited 800 E-TEC, although I drove it several times (I borrowed it from a friend). The cost of a snowmobile is very high, and this is what is preventing us from buying it.
- Traveler: The limited edition “Army Man” is built on a platform known to everyone, but represents a new series. The grip has been slightly increased, but the snowmobile has retained its main advantages. “Army Man” does not drive on the roads, but flies. The snowman's engine is super powerful, due to which it quickly picks up speed. Consumption does not exceed 20 l/100 km. There are a lot of disputes regarding the service life of E-TEC engines; I haven’t had any problems in 2 years. Among the unpleasant aspects, I would highlight the large mass and a sharp increase in fuel consumption when overloaded. There were no breakdowns during operation.
- Leonid: I became the owner of 69 Yeti Army Limited 800 a year and a half ago. The controls on the new Army are much better than before. The model has also improved its cross-country ability, and now I’m not at all afraid that I might get stuck somewhere. The snowmobile feels great on powder. I’m not a fan of driving, but with the Army Man there’s simply nothing else to do, the machine is super-fast. Recently we compared it with the 550 Scandic, the difference turned out to be significant. I simply don’t know what to compare the new Army Man with; he simply has no analogues in Russia. The only upsetting thing is the price tag for the snowflake itself and the service, it turns out to be very expensive.
- Nikolay, Kaluga: The first thing I remembered when I sat down in the BRP 69 Yeti Army Limited 800 E-TEC I purchased was the heavy steering wheel. My hands got tired quite quickly from unaccustomed use. Skandik has completely different feelings. I also had to get used to the controls; when I suddenly slowed down, the Army Man would fall through. On virgin soil, a snowflake easily accelerates to 80 km/h and walks very smoothly; Scandik begins to yaw after 60 km/h. The suspension of the 69 Yeti Army Limited 800 E-TEC is indestructible. For 2 years I haven’t been anywhere, and nothing matters. In terms of comfort, the model is no different from other BRP products: comfortable seat, heated handles, adjustable steering wheel. Everything is done for comfortable movement. So far, the new Army Man is nothing but pleasing.
Reviews
- Maxim, Perm. I liked this “army man”. I took it at the end of 2021. Currently the mileage is 430 km. Sometimes I drive into the forest, but mostly I drive along the compacted road. I liked the fast acceleration, but the speed is felt very well - due to vibrations and noise. But fuel consumption averages 25 liters. At the same time, the engine is content with cheap 92 gasoline. Sometimes it happens that a snowmobile fails on simple sections - this is probably a feature of the not too energy-intensive suspension, which is not designed for relief road sections. And when you change the gas, you feel strange noises, which is not very pleasant and even a little scary - especially in those cases when you are somewhere far away in the wilderness, around trees.
- Alexey, Yaroslavl. I would consider this model to be one of the best snowmobiles today. I also had domestic cars, so I have something to compare with. The BRP 69 600 E-TEC snowmobile is superior to many utility vehicles in most respects. Although this model has significant drawbacks that it would be a shame not to mention. In addition, many shortcomings appeared in just one year of operation. For example, it is difficult to control when driving on ice. Moreover, in some situations it is not possible to take control of the vehicle, and the snowmobile goes into a skid. Sometimes uncontrolled reversals occur. The gearbox speeds are slow, and during intense acceleration (with the accelerator held down), the gearbox often malfunctions and stalls, and generally does not allow the engine to open to its full potential. The selectivity of the gearbox is definitely worse than that of Japanese cars. This gearbox setting is only suitable for a smooth and leisurely ride. And I also didn’t like the high cost and expensive maintenance.
- Daniil, Ryazan. I was pleased with the equipment; during the first 1000 km there were no special problems. The vehicle has excellent cross-country ability and maneuverability - however, good handling and cross-country ability are possible mainly on the road, but in deep snow some inconveniences appear. For example, these are uncontrolled drifts. The ergonomics are not very pleasing - unfortunately, there is no indicator for the engaged brake lock. But sometimes you can forget that the brakes are off, leave the snowmobile and go about your business in general... I was pleased with the build quality. The army man consumes 92-grade gasoline without any problems, although the consumption could be less - sometimes it reaches 30 liters. But there is enough power to spare. The car is designed for two people with a small cargo container.
- Pavel, Sakhalin region. The Lynx 69 Yety Army 600 E-TEC was purchased six months ago. The equipment was perfect for traveling on fishing, hunting, or anywhere else. I liked the quiet and revving engine, which is a two-stroke, but this is not a problem - there is always enough traction. In addition, under load the engine noise is at an average level, and this is taking into account the mileage of 1155 km. The snowmobile is capable of pulling a large load of cargo without any overheating. During the first season of use, the slides, which extended about 600 km, became unusable.
LYNX Commander E-Tec 600 LTD is a faithful companion of the hunter and traveler.
Not every snowmobile is capable of becoming a faithful companion of a hunter and traveler. Deep snow, steep slopes, snow-covered forest with dense trees - all this can become an insurmountable obstacle for some snowmobiles. But not for the powerful wide-track LYNX Commander 600 LTD ! Its equipment emphasizes his versatility: a shovel with a standard mount with a folding handle and a saw, high glass, a convenient spacious trunk case, a spare variator belt. Equipped with a gearbox with a reduction mode, this snowmobile is not afraid of deep snow and hard work. When towing a sled with a snowmobile, switch the gearbox to a lower gear and you will immediately reduce the load on the transmission and variator! A wide track with a high 44mm snow grip will ensure that your LYNX Commander E-Tec 600 LTD easily overcomes snow-covered impassable fields.
The LYNX Commander E-Tec 600 LTD snowmobile in the 2015 model year is equipped with the world's most famous rear suspension - the invention of the Finnish racer Paulo Piipol. The new modification of the rear suspension with the PPS2 index is as energy-intensive as its predecessor. But, thanks to the new durable round-section arms, the PPS2 suspension has become even lighter and collects less snow under the snowmobile tunnel. The suspension design is designed in such a way that when towing a sled and any load on the towbar, the effectiveness of the suspension does not decrease. That is why it has become so famous all over the world as the most energy-intensive and versatile suspension.
The battery and electric starter add comfort when starting the snowmobile with a button. But, even with a discharged battery, you can easily start the snowmobile in any frost using a manual starter. This will be provided by the E-Tec direct fuel injection system. It is this that allows the LYNX Commander E-Tec 600 LTD to show the wonders of economical fuel and oil consumption and start the snowmobile from the first turn, regardless of the outside temperature. The oil is not pre-mixed with gasoline, but is supplied to the necessary engine components through oil lines. Therefore, its minimum consumption and complete combustion are ensured. This means that the exhaust of the LYNX Commander E-Tec 600 LTD is much cleaner than any two-stroke with a conventional injector.
The 117-horsepower LYNX Commander will allow you to quickly pick up speed and jump up fairly steep hills. And in terms of dynamics, the snowmobile will easily compete with powerful representatives of touring models. Developed by specialists from the Austrian plant ROTAX specifically for snowmobiles, this motor is one of the most reliable and technically advanced representatives of its class.
the LYNX Commander E-Tec 600 LTD snowmobile is also excellent. Wide skis of the BLADE series with a deep keel provide excellent grip on packed snow and crust. And in deep snow, they easily hold the front of the snowmobile without compromising its maneuverability. If necessary, you can install extenders on the skis, which will further increase their area.
Thanks to excellent weight distribution, a compact engine and a gas tank located under the seat, the LYNX Commander E-Tec 600 LTD can be a reliable travel companion even on a trip to the mountains! And the passenger will appreciate the comfortable seat with a high back, located just above the driver's seat. If there is no need to carry a passenger, then you always have the opportunity to turn the LYNX Commander E-Tec 600 LTD into an expedition version in just a couple of minutes. Remove the passenger seat and replace it with a second trunk or metal trunk.
With such a snowmobile you can go on any trip and consider the LYNX Commander E-Tec 600 LTD as an excellent choice for both an experienced snowmobiler and a beginner just starting to take their first steps in snowmobiling!
