Aerox R motorcycle: technical specifications, photos, videos

Disadvantages of the model

  1. High rise. It is quite difficult for a person of average height to reach the asphalt. But this is also an advantage. This landing provides excellent visibility to all sides.
  2. The rigid suspension reacts sharply to uneven road surfaces. You need to get used to this.

Reviews about Yamaha Aerox are mostly positive. There are minor drawbacks that are caused by design features. The photos demonstrate a bright sporty character. In the video you can see that, despite the modest engine size and power, the explosive nature leaves competitors behind. Aerox is an ideal option for a teenager due to its good handling, relatively light weight and bright sporty style.

My tuning path and an example of tuning a Yamaha Aerox 50cc, Part 2

2. Example of tuning Yamaha Aerox 50cc

Everyone now knows that registration of mopeds with a displacement of up to 50cc has begun, and I think there is no need to say that the water-cooled Yamaha Aerox Since I had 70cc piston all these years

then I, as a law-abiding citizen of Ukraine, and also did not want to have problems with the traffic police in the future, so I decided to install a 49cc cylinder and register. I was faced with a dilemma about engine power, since over the years I had become accustomed to driving around the city on equal terms with cars. I really didn’t want to lose power, but I understood that I had no other choice (((. Accustomed to high speeds (10-13 thousand), I initially ordered a Cylinder Polini Evolution 50cc ,

so that the loss of power is not very noticeable. Exhaust Evolution Polini 50cc pipe for it

and, on the advice of one person, a large Racing Carburettor Stage6 R/T Mk II PWK 24 mm.

Unfortunately, the piston lasted a couple of days; due to incorrect tuning, overheating occurred and the cylinder jammed... For a long time I was, let’s say, depressed about this, and as a result I decided to do away with the “Big Tuning”! I found a weak Nicosil Cylinder Stage6 Aluminum 50cc ,

LeoVince Handmade ZX pipe for it

and a Dellorto 17.5 mm .

When setting up the transmission, it was necessary, of course, to replace the rollers and spring of the driven pulley with a softer one.
I was very pleased with the fuel consumption on the highway; when I went to Feodosia and back, I spent only 12 liters, while the average speed was 55 km/h. The moped accelerated weakly, operating speeds were 7-9 thousand, the maximum speed in a straight line was 75 km/h, and even 95 km/h from a hill, thanks to the long gearbox. Everything would be fine, I would continue to drive like this, but one fine day a cross-country moped passed me and I was very upset. Without thinking for a long time, I came to the idea that I needed to increase the power, and therefore the speed, to at least 10.5 thousand. I pulled out the dusty Exhaust Evolution Polini 50cc , since the LeoVince Handmade ZX could not work at these speeds, installed it again, configured I lightened the speed of the rollers, adjusted the carburetor, enriching the mixture, and in the end, over a long period of time while I was driving a little better than the standard, I got more pleasure from the engine. Of course, I felt that such revolutions were too much for this cylinder, and when my crankshaft bearing began to make noise after 3500 km, I decided to replace it with a more “fun” Cylinder Motoforce Racing Alu 50cc .

which I still have to this day. We're done with the piston ones, let's talk about the rest of the engine configuration. I think everyone knows that the crankshaft is the heart of the engine, and as always, you want a better crankshaft. At the beginning I had a crankshaft with a standard connecting rod length, but then I decided to install an extended Racing crankshaft Stage6 R/T Replica 85mm conrod ,

Accordingly, I had to install a spacer under it : Spacer Kit for 85mm Crankshaft Stage6

. Once upon a time I bought myself a Polini with light

, but since my xenon consumed electricity well, I had to give up and replace it with a CDI MVT Millenium .

At one time, I turned the carburetor back and installed a stage6 Reed Valve V-Force3 by Tassinari

high throughput. The scooter transmission gave me a lot of trouble. In the summer in Crimea it is very hot and the rollers simply stuck to the variator and did not want to work normally. I fixed the problem by installing the Variator Cover TopPerformances Turbo Cooler .

The standard transmission on the Yamaha Aerox did not cope with its tasks properly: the guides and rollers were quickly killed, the belt was worn out, and I came to the conclusion that I needed to install a custom transmission Wandlerkit Malossi MHR Overrange 2005 .

as well as Clutch Stage6 Torque Control MKII clutch (107mm)

Wingbell Malossi (107mm) bell .

I also lengthened the gearbox, replacing the primary gears and installed a cover for the gearbox Gearbox Cover Racing

with bearings for reduced friction and durability. Over many years of racing around the city, I realized one thing: those foam filters that are offered as a replacement for standard ones are designed only for racing. Although they say that you need to soak it with Velcro, this is still not the case, and the best filter, in my opinion, is a paper filter like on cars. Using a paper filter from a Java , I doubled the service life! By extending a corrugated tube from the filter box, at the end of which there are several layers of gauze, I adjust the mixture during different weather conditions quickly and easily!

Remembering the disastrous experience on the Yamaha ZR Evolution , I did not take my safety so lightly and installed a Brake Disc DMP Saw

and Stage6 R/T 4-Piston Brake Caliper black

with a spacer for it Stage6 R/ T Adapter for 4-Piston Brake Calliper .

I also replaced the standard fork with a more serious Fork Legs Stage6 R/T (RACING TEAM)

. The cooling system on the Yamaha Aerox has also been extensively redesigned! At the beginning, I installed a more efficient Water Pump Stage6 CNC chrome ,

and then, he placed the second radiator in the floor, connecting it with taps so that if it was not needed in the winter, it could be turned off. It turned out, kind of like a car, a big and a small circle! One of the important parts for high-speed engines is the tachometer! Without it, it is simply impossible to properly tune the engine, and it also tells you when you need to change the rollers to lighter ones, as a result of a drop in compression. And I installed the Speedometer XR-SR N universal

with all the necessary functions in it. Also, for safety reasons on the road, I repainted my Yamaha Aerox yellow, since many scooter riders know that most accidents happen due to the fact that we are not visible! Now it looks like this.

At the moment, the working speed of the Yamaha Aerox is 9000-11200 rpm, it accelerates to 85 km/h in a straight line, it has become much more fun))). You can read more here . With this, I think, I can bring my article to an end, of course there is much more that could be done I would like to describe small pleasant things in my Yamaha Aerox 50cc , but I don’t see the point! I will be glad if my article helps someone in choosing or setting up a moped! Good luck to everyone, and as they say, not a wedge, not a nail in the road!!!
