Snowmobile-quad bike SHERHAN 300G LITE SNOW (50cc)

A snowmobile is a mechanical vehicle for driving on snow. It is controlled using ski runners, thanks to which it is stable even on loose snow.

Snowmobiles for children are smaller in size and have less power in comparison with their “brothers”; they are very simple to operate.

The main feature is safety. It is possible to limit the speed and autonomously turn off the engine using a remote control.

also have a safety cord that can stop the engine if a child accidentally falls out of the snowmobile.

When braking, the engine stops quickly.

Children's snowmobiles are very stable due to the wide distance between the skis.

They are controlled using a steering wheel, usually heated and adjustable to the height of the child.

Ease of use is due to only two functions - gas and brake.

Snowmobile classification

  • Gasoline - powered by a gasoline engine.
    They install engines of different types, each of which has its own advantages - light weight, quick warm-up, low noise, low fuel consumption, etc.
  • Electric snowmobiles are battery-powered.
    They require no maintenance, because often sold already in a dry charged state. It only needs to be recharged periodically.

    Thanks to the special design of the batteries, self-discharge is practically eliminated . In most cases, the gas that forms in the battery during operation does not escape to the outside.

The advantages of a snowmobile that is designed by yourself:

  1. Price. Making a homemade snowmobile will cost much less money than buying factory-made equipment.
  2. The opportunity to make the snowmobile of your child’s dreams (the desired design, power, etc.).
  3. High reliability. Every parent wants only the best for their child, so the snowmobile will be developed with high quality. In turn, not every manufacturer pays attention to the level of safety in pursuit of increasing cash flow.

The main parts that are needed to develop a homemade snowmobile are: power unit (engine), fuel tank, frame, tracks, track, control and seat. In addition, there must be a drawing according to which all the parts will be assembled into one whole. First, the frame is welded from pipes and angles, then it is connected to the steering mechanism. Next comes the installation of the engine. The location of the carburetor should not be far from the fuel tank. After installing the engine, tank and mounting the fuel system, we proceed to installing the track. You can buy the caterpillar separately or make it yourself by first watching the instructional video. The driven axle is installed at the rear of the frame, the drive axle is installed in the middle of the vehicle. The final stage includes connecting the gas and brake cables.

Gasoline snowmobiles

Two-stroke engines are lightweight, easy to repair, quickly warm up, and can use cheap fuel.
Four-stroke engines have a significant resource, have lower fuel consumption and low noise levels.

There are air- or water-cooled engines.

The air cooling system is simple, but if used incorrectly it can lead to overheating.

With water cooling, the radiator is cooled by snow. Overheating is practically excluded , but can occur in the absence of loose snow.

There are carburetor and injection engines. The latter have a number of advantages: they are cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and stable in operation. Injectors are less reliable and practically cannot be repaired in the field.

When refueling a snowmobile, it is necessary to fill in unleaded gasoline, because... the use of leaded gasoline increases the harmfulness of exhaust gases and reduces the service life of the engine.

If gasoline gets on the surface of the snowmobile, the body paint may be damaged.

Most children's snowmobiles have a maximum speed limit of about 13 km/h .

How to choose the right children's snowmobile: recommendations

Choosing a children's snowmobile is not an easy task. However, it is quite possible to solve it if you initially select the most appropriate model taking into account the parameters.

Child age: for children from 3 to 13 years old

The simplest models are created for children at different rates of development. The main users of these devices are children and teenagers.

Design characteristics of snowmobiles for children

Design features. High-speed models intended for touring may be equipped with additional safety features. The most popular options use modern hand brakes.

Stopping the engine can also be done externally. In this case, a complete stop is carried out by a signal on the remote control.

Ski design: features

Design features of skis: the material from which they are made must be flexible and elastic enough, but at the same time strong enough to withstand all operating conditions.

It is important to consider the presence of all additional elements. In children's models, manufacturers often save on this. The damping system installed here must withstand heavy loads.

Housing material

It is recommended to avoid using elements that are too fragile. Polyurethane components, for example, become brittle at temperatures below zero.

The frame must be made of metal and be resistant to various types of damage and impacts.

Design

Models of children's snowmobiles are quite varied; here it is better to stick to a design that is easily visible in any lighting, as well as color: green, blue, red, orange, etc.

The presence of reflective components is an advantage in the design of the device.

Country of origin

The most reliable, as well as popular and new types are produced in America and Japan. However, you can also find the most budget models.

Servicing Chinese models

In fact, snowmobile maintenance is carried out from the moment it is sold. A good seller must carry out pre-sale preparation of the car, which includes:

  • checking all existing nodes and connections;
  • stretching tracks;
  • inspection of the structure to detect fasteners and equipment fluids;
  • work on adjusting the wheel alignment of skis, cables and fuel parts,
  • electronic equipment inspection;
  • starting the engine and its additional adjustment.

Most buyers, according to Motosneg, are not even aware of the implementation of all this work. They just deposit money into the service’s cash desk, transport the Chinese snowmobile to the place of its further operation, after which they sit down and drive off. At the same time, many people don’t even think that the first kilometers should not be driven at high speeds. It is important to get tested. Some people see this process as a quiet (no more than 20 km/h) movement on snow cover. But this is not true. The snowmobile needs to work in every mode included in its design - at high, low, medium engine speeds, but without increased loads. The initial run-in is carried out for 500 km. Some spend only up to two days to complete, while others take the whole season.

Features of operation and storage

During the initial run-in, the speed of the power unit in automatic mode increases and the engine runs better. But there is a need to change the oil and adjust the valves. Preventive inspection is required for stretched tracks and transmission chains, which begin to stretch after traveling a distance of 500 km. This is the initial technical inspection for a new snowmobile. Along with the above actions, during this maintenance, specialists must pay attention to the quality of the suspensions (they are injected), and inspect the fuel group.

The manufacturer supplies a Chinese snowmobile with a “preserved” fuel system. During the first 500 km, the preservative substance is independently disposed of, and there is a danger of contamination of this unit.

When handing over a snowmobile for service, the mechanic must check the quality of the following elements:

  • variators;
  • drive belt;
  • cable;
  • power supply systems;
  • steering and braking system.

These actions take a working day. In general, a lot depends on the quality of this machine.

Note. Not every buyer of snowmobile equipment knows how to ride it correctly. Owners often think like this: “If I drive a car, I can easily master a Chinese snowmobile” - this judgment is erroneous, and therefore, with their wrong actions, such “reckless drivers” can damage tracked vehicles. A mileage of half a thousand kilometers is enough to get a feel for your snowmobile. Some people think that their suspension is very stiff, or vice versa - this is normal. The idea is that on the snowmobile being sold, the adjustments are adjusted to the middle (compromise) position. And as part of the first maintenance (MOT), it is possible to adjust the components according to certain recommendations of the equipment owner.

Service principle:

  1. After completing the 1st maintenance, the lucky owner of snow equipment can use the machine in any mode and power.
  2. The manufacturer advises you to come for the second maintenance at the end of the winter season. But not every person covers the 100 kilometers prescribed for this, and such owners have a question: is it necessary to undergo maintenance in this case? Experts say yes. Even if the driver drove no more than a hundred kilometers, the engine still started, it warmed up and cooled down, and condensation appeared accordingly. Any drops of water will push through the oil film within a few months, and rust will appear. The snowmobile will work, but its resource will become shorter. Here we come to such a procedure as preserving the car for the summer. In principle, it includes a complete maintenance, but there are some peculiarities, for example, the tracks are not tensioned, but loosened.
  3. During summer storage of a snowmobile, some parts may fail, in particular the track. It dries out if it is not properly tensioned at the beginning of the new season. Consequences such as damaged rollers may occur.

For long-term storage of a Chinese snowmobile, it is necessary to unload the suspension. To do this, use racks or a block of wood - choose what is more accessible to you. Mandatory measures include changing the oil in the gearbox and turning off the battery.

If the owner of a Chinese snowmobile has traveled a lot, the suspension will need to be injected. Changing the engine oil is carried out taking into account the recommendations of the manufacturer. On average, the oil change interval is performed every ten thousand kilometers. But it is better if the engine is filled with fresh product after several thousand kilometers (5-6) for 4-stroke units; this procedure can also be carried out at the end of the season.

After inspecting the fuel system, it is recommended:

  1. Fill the tank with gasoline until it is full.
  2. Add a preservative with a fuel stabilizer and “drive” the fuel through the fuel system. If there is space in the tank with air, this may lead to condensation, i.e. there will be water in the container. You don't need this, so you need to refill the preservative through the carburetor while the engine is running.
  3. After turning off the engine, you need to unscrew the spark plugs, pour preservative under them, and crank the crankshaft. After this, we can assume that the device is ready, it is mothballed.

There is also a feature that only those owners who like it pay attention to. We are talking about plastic conservation. Structural elements that are made from this material must be covered with wax, which is on them before the onset of new cold weather. After this, wash off the coating with a special alcohol solution, and the Chinese snowmobile will be like new.

Battery-powered snowmobiles

These types of snowmobiles are powered by batteries.
Modern batteries have an improved gas recombination system, there is no need to fill with distilled water, and they have minimal self-discharge, which is facilitated by the calcium content in the plates.

The gas released during operation is transformed internally and does not escape outside. They have a safety valve, making them extremely safe.

To date, there are no models put into mass production, there are only a few concepts and hand-made units.

The American company Brammo Inc has invented a new environmentally friendly electric snowmobile with a unique design.

In appearance it is similar to a tractor caterpillar, which gives it an impressive appearance.

The maximum speed reaches 40 km/h . Battery life up to 8 hours without recharging.

In turn, Polish designers created their own concept of the Snow Crawler snowmobile, featuring a more sophisticated, modern design.

The main feature is the closed cabin, thanks to which you can now drive in the snow in complete comfort.

There is heated glass and all lighting equipment. Working on batteries requires recharging, which is not always possible in extreme driving conditions.

The most affordable - gasoline snowmobiles , in the future, may be inferior to their environmentally friendly electric snowmobiles, but currently the most affordable, and therefore popular, are snowmobiles with gasoline engines.

For quality rest while riding, you need a special snowmobile suit. You can read a detailed review of this type of equipment in our article.

The best snowmobiles and lineup

Most snowmobile manufacturers have proven themselves in the market, and their products are in great demand among buyers. There are several manufacturers to choose from:

  • Snowrunner;
  • Polaris;
  • Stels;
  • Woideal 300cc.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with the model range of Chinese snowmobiles in more detail.

"Snowrunner"

This vehicle is large in size, weighing approximately 125 kg when fully equipped. According to reviews from owners of these Snowrunner snowmobiles, the product of this brand has advantages.

The manufacturer independently carries out maintenance - 1, maintenance - 2. This incentive attracts possible buyers, while the price of this brand is the most affordable. If the vehicle is used according to the rules, there is no overload and good care is provided, then the snowmobile will last a long time.

Polaris

These vehicles have been popular on the market for more than 50 years. The very first ones were most preferred by consumers - ordinary workers who allowed themselves to buy Polaris. The trust continues today. The Polaris brand is still relevant, although the manufacturing plant has gone through difficult times.

The company's managers have often changed; despite the difficulties, the plant is operating successfully and is ready to please customers. Now interest in snowmobiles from the Chinese manufacturer has grown significantly; not only ordinary workers, but also professional athletes are ready to buy them. The model range is constantly updated. The latest model is manufactured taking into account all modern standards.

Woideal 300cc

The world market has recently released this brand. The new snowmobile offers the following features:

  • four-stroke engine;
  • power 17 hp;
  • liquid cooling and electric starter.

The Woideal 300cc snowmobile has such an important function as heated handles and trigger Hi - Lo - Off. The vehicle is equipped with a CVT device L - N - R. For convenience, a multifunctional control panel is built in, it displays the fuel level in the tank and the temperature mode in the engine. The snowmobile is suitable for driving in forest areas. According to the manufacturers' plans, this vehicle can be purchased by fishermen who like to spend time far from the city in their personal “fishing” places. The model will also be interesting for young people, it will be good entertainment in the winter. Of course, the weight of the device is quite large - about 135 kg. You can accelerate on it up to 70 km/h. For reserve, the car needs 20 liters. gasoline.

"Stealth" (made in China and Russia)

This is not only a Chinese brand, but a joint production of two countries. The plant initially produced other products before snowmobiles: bicycles, ATVs and mopeds. Later, the list of manufactured products was expanded to recently include a snowmobile. One of the snowmobiles has become the most popular - the V-800 model. It was not produced by any company. They presented their meaning: domestic and.

Snow machines of this brand are produced in Russia, that is, in the Bryansk region (Zhukovka). Speaking about the configuration, it must be on par with foreign models. The transport is even equipped with an additional device for lifting and moving various weights. Although certain consumers consider this a negative quality, in general the model’s equipment is very convenient and functional:

  • There is a panel for the driver, a seat for the passenger, which is equipped with a backrest. This is an important advantage because you are less likely to fall while moving.
  • Stealth has a built-in function for heating the gas control and steering wheel grips.
  • There is a trailer attachment - a towbar. The price is the same as for models of other brands in the Russian Federation.

It’s too early to talk about high quality and practicality, because the Stealth vehicle has only recently appeared on the market.

All children love to imitate their parents. Externally, children's models are identical to adults, so for a child it will be not only extreme, but also a source of pride. The most important advantage of the models is safety, which is important for parental peace of mind.

Our selection includes models from the famous “Yamaha”, “Arctic cat”, “Polaris”, etc.

What is important to know about children's snowmobiles?

Before you buy this device, it is recommended to find out what a children's snowmobile is and what are its features? This is a mechanical sled with runners (chain mechanics) that glide well on soft snow cover.

Children's models differ from adult snowmobiles in that they are less powerful. The built-in safety system is an important feature of a winter SUV for children.

    Yes, the thing is great! We have been thinking for a long time about what gift to give our son for his birthday, I see that an all-terrain vehicle will be the best. I think that the most acceptable one is with an electric motor. But it is not clear why there is such a wide range in prices - from 40 to 120 thousand rubles?

Steering ski : 1 – runner (nylon, sheet s20, from a children's snow scooter); 2 – spring (normally stretched, from the rear shock absorber of the moped); 3 – spring support; 4 – undercut (duralumin corner 20x20); 5 – spring cover (angle 35x35); 6 – fastening the spring to the cover (M8 bolt with washer); 7 – support lever (pipe 30x30); 8 – spring for fastening the rack-fork to the ski lever (steel, sheet s2); 9 – spring for attaching the support lever to the ski (steel, sheet s2); 10 – axles (M8 bolt, 2 pcs.); 11 – steering knuckle stand (bicycle steering stand with crown and part of the fork); 12 – steering bipod (steel, sheet s4); 13 – fastening of the steering bipod (type M16); 14 – fastening the spring bearing and the lever spring to the ski (M5 bolt with a countersunk head, 7 pcs.); 15 – lever bushing (steel pipe with a diameter of 30 mm); 16 – plain bearing (nylon bushing, 2 pcs.); 17 – stand bushing (steel pipe with a diameter of 30 mm). In the top view, parts 11, 12, 13 of the steering knuckle are not shown.

For the rack, take several 3x3 cm corners and connect them to each other using metal fasteners. To create a platform, you need to attach a sheet of metal to the connected racks. This will be the place to install the gearbox and chain drive shaft.

Don't forget about the seat support. To do this, you need to take a steel module and weld it to the main frame. The module does not have to be large.

Using a beam, connect the front of the frame and the front axle. For these purposes, you can adapt a standard water pipe, which has a radius of at least 1.5 cm. It is clear that this should not be a metal-plastic pipe, but a metal one. Weld the steering wheel bushing at the end, and attach the stand in the middle. This stand will play the role of a subframe for the engine.

Be sure to attach small stiffening ribs in the form of gussets in the places where the racks are attached. This is necessary to strengthen the structure and provide it with a longer service life.
