Reviews from Wels Impulse owners
Wels Impulse, 2015
Impression. Nice sporty design. Starts quickly. Excellent ergonomics, the legs themselves wrap around the gas tank, very comfortably positioned according to its shape, and without any effort you are securely fixed in the Wels Impulse saddle. Excellent foot brake modulation – accurate prediction of the required force and amplitude of pressing the brake pedal. Road wheels confidently “grab” the asphalt, as if they were sticking to it. The footrests for the driver and passenger recline clearly and “grip” shoes well, despite the neat design and small thickness. The beautiful electronic display, especially at the moment of starting the engine, is slightly mesmerizing and very informative. Noble, the exhaust sound does not put pressure on the ears.
Advantages
: appearance. Brakes. Comfortable fit. Readable display.
Flaws
: I haven’t discovered it yet.
Wels Impulse, 2021
The motorcycle is well worth the money for that kind of money. Before purchasing the Wels Impulse, I was faced with the choice of a used one, something like 400 cc and 1000. After looking at it, and after a short test, I was disappointed. Firstly, they sell mainly for the reason of not having to spend money on repairs, and repairs can cost from 30 to 80 thousand, these are no longer trifles, and everyone sings in their ears that they do not require investments. In the end, I decided after testing first the Yamaha 250 cc, and then comparing the Wels Impulse 250, I certainly didn’t notice the difference, I’m talking about the fact that in the understanding, leaving a place in another dimension is overkill, but as for driving around the city in traffic cars, always left first, no matter what car was nearby. I didn’t plan to go into another dimension when purchasing (as an already advanced biker put it), I’m happy that everything suits me in this dimension too. You can either fall in, or you can just move around calmly. And the fact that everyone is looking and winking is for sure. This is not an advertisement, I just told everything that really is, and I won’t advise anyone on anything, it’s up to you to choose and decide too, I made my choice and I’m just happy. The consumption of the Wels Impulse is small; driving 200 km to Moscow or somewhere else is not a problem. And the fact that fatigue is only a matter of habit over time. Conclusion: I wish everyone positive, good luck, and good mood.
Advantages
: rides and handles great. Affordable. Attractive in design. I like.
Flaws
: out of habit, you get tired quickly.
Wels Impulse, 2021
Not a bad Chinese one, got it inexpensively. Wels Impulse is 100% worth its money. Looks great, drives well. I haven't identified any cons yet. Just change the Chinese chain right away and that’s it. The mileage is 6 thousand, I changed the rear pads because the caliper was poorly lubricated and the pads were worn out crookedly. And I will change the bearing in the rear wheel, since there was a small impact from behind. I think that without these circumstances I would have only changed the oil.
Advantages
: all good. Not a bad option for the money.
Flaws
: Chinese chain stretches quickly. It needs to be changed.
On the carpet today we have the IMPULSE sportbike from WELS
Why did you choose this particular class and model? Let’s try to use it to debunk the myth that the “Chinese” don’t drive and generally fall apart on the move.
At first glance at IMPULSE you notice something familiar in its image... Well, of course - the appearance exactly repeats the famous “erk” of the first model. The same aggressive front fairing and slanted headlight lenses, the same smooth contours of the body, making the bike look like a modern fighter.
The manufacturer does not hide the fact that the Yamaha R1 served as the prototype for the creation of the IMPULSE 250cc. Even the color was borrowed from the 2012 anniversary model. Well what can I say... Resourceful. A recognizable model from a famous brand, but in its own way. More accessible to mere mortals. What can I say – our many friends from the East surprised us again.
So what we see before us (based on first visual impressions) is a “sport” class motorcycle with a bright and ergonomic design that attracts the eye and fascinates those who like to “unscrew” the handle. Upon closer inspection, you notice that the build quality of the plastic is excellent (“the Chinese” have always been guilty of poorly assembled body kits), there are no joints, no cracks, and the tolerances are minimal. All elements are in place, as they should be. The quality of the plastic itself is also worthy of all praise.
The motorcycle is available in three colors - white, black and red. As they say, there is something for every taste.
Wels Impulse motorcycle review
Wels Impulse motorcycle review
It doesn’t matter what you drive, it’s important how you do it...
Walking around the city, you increasingly notice how various bikes rush past. Cutting through the dense traffic flow, they do not notice traffic jams, do not waste time - they simply confidently move towards the goal. Every year there are more and more two-wheeled vehicles on the streets. What kind of popularity you ask? Well, for starters, it’s convenient - eternal traffic jams during rush hour are a thing of the past, and a lot of time is saved. It is economical - whatever one may say, the average fuel consumption of a motorcycle is less than that of a car. And finally, it's just damn cool! Remember “The Terminator” - haven’t any of you imagined yourself in Arnold’s place? Leather biker jacket, sunglasses and a thundering bike! So what's all this for? If you decide to join the orderly ranks of the two-wheeled fraternity and, like the right person, you ask yourself the question - where and where to start? – I hope our review will bring you closer to your goal. So, today we will talk about a motorcycle for beginner riders – WELS IMPULSE 250cc. Let's go!
The vast motorcycle market can drive anyone into a stupor. For a beginner choosing his first bike, this is generally a dark forest. Where to start, which manufacturer to choose, which class of motorcycle is right for me. Of course, there are a lot of questions, but everything is not so scary. Fortunately, we don’t live in the Stone Age, and any information is freely available - read reviews, meet people “in the know”, and finally, go to showrooms - touch everything, sit on everything, sign up for a test drive (with us do you have a category “A” license?).
Some people care about the ease of handling and driving a motorcycle, the second - how easy it is to maintain and its maintainability, the third - the price, the fourth - all of the above... Let's dwell on the question - which motorcycle to buy at the beginning of the journey. Of course, if you have good financial support, you can go and without hesitation take some top model from one of the “well-known” brands. But think for a second - what if I don’t like it, what if it’s not for me? This is how new expensive decorative elements for an apartment or garage appear.
I suggest paying attention to the equipment of Chinese manufacturers. And I beg you, don’t immediately wrinkle your nose and dismiss it skeptically! Chinese-made motorcycles occupy their niche in the market and offer both beginners and experienced riders a wide selection of high-quality and reliable equipment at an affordable price. In my humble opinion, a Chinese-made motorcycle at a reasonable price is the best choice for a beginner.

Modern and progressive motorcycle Wels Impulse 250
The Chinese brand Wels has been producing motorcycles since 1996. During this time, this manufacturer has gained a good reputation around the world. All Wels products are of high quality and reliability, which is confirmed by numerous positive reviews from customers. The brand is multifunctional and therefore is constantly in search of new technological solutions; engineers are trying to introduce new “tricks” that constantly take the company to a completely new level. Despite the fact that the country of origin is China, this technique should not be underestimated.
It must be safely said that the company’s products provide healthy competition to world leaders in the production of motorcycle equipment, such as Yamaha or Suzuki. But Wels has one advantage - an adequate price for equipment. It is worth mentioning sports bikes, in particular the Wels Impulse 250 model - a modern and progressive motorcycle with impressive technical characteristics. In addition to Impulse, the company produces the sought-after wels ghost 25, the price of which is 129,900 thousand rubles. The bike is designed for people who love high speed and a sense of freedom. An interesting design and the roar of the engine make passersby turn around when the Wels 250 motorcycle overcomes traffic jams in the city.
Specifications
The strength of the entire structure is ensured by a steel, tubular frame. The main power unit on the motorcycle is a 4-stroke gasoline engine with one cylinder and a displacement of 250 cc. With a power of 16.3 hp, the motorcycle leaves many car drivers behind on the track. The engine starts due to the operation of an electric starter, the ignition is electronic for the CDI system, its second name is capacitor. The fuel supply system is carburetor; the Impulse 250 operating book indicates the recommended fuel grade AI-92. Gasoline is contained in a 14-liter gas tank. Despite the declared engine displacement of 250 cc, fuel consumption can be safely called modest, it is 3-3.5 liters per 100 km.
The wheels consist of durable, alloy wheels, which are shod with tires of sizes: front 110/70-17 and rear - 130/70-17. Wheelbase: 134 cm, ground clearance - 128 cm. 5-speed manual gearbox, thanks to which you can fully experience the pleasure of driving a motorcycle and riding in general.
The clutch is very sensitive, multi-plate in an oil bath. All forces from the engine are transmitted to the rear wheel through a metal chain.
We can conclude that the technical characteristics of the Wels 250 are impressive and elevate the model to the world ranking of sports bikes, on the same level as the famous “Japanese”.
Design Features
The motorcycle is well-designed, with a catchy, sporty, ergonomic design that simply fascinates fans of fast riding. The model can be seen in 3 main colors: red, white and black. First of all, the Wels 250cc motorcycle is an air-cooled vehicle for high-speed riding, allowing you to easily overcome city traffic jams. The driving process itself provides a lot of positive emotions and sensations. The entire structure of the motorcycle is covered with special, durable plastic, which plays the role of the creator of a sporty design, the function of protection and streamlining.
The upper fairing and glass remove cold wind currents from the driver, which makes the ride comfortable and enjoyable. Also, Grand Prix-type plastic carefully conceals the engine, placed in such a way that the driver is exposed to splashes of rainwater and dirt while driving. Speaking about the installed optics, it is necessary to say the following: due to the lenses, the night light of the motorcycle is ultra-precise and bright, LED turn signals are installed. The instrument panel is electronic, it displays a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and hour meter. The low seating position of the Impulse allows you to travel with full control over the iron horse, which is also facilitated by a split steering wheel. The Chinese “rocket” has high shock-absorbing qualities; the front suspension consists of a telescopic fork, inside of which there are two spring shock absorbers.
The rear suspension consists of a pendulum fork and one spring shock absorber. Of course, Wels is primarily intended for sporty driving on perfectly smooth road surfaces, but if necessary, the suspension suffers from various vibrations. The braking system consists of disc brakes (rear and front), the bike stops in a matter of seconds with the slightest impact on them.

- A brief inspection and launch of the Suzuki GSX 400 Impulse motorcycle.
Suzuki GSX 400 Impulse
- a classic road motorcycle produced for the Japanese domestic market and not officially supplied to other countries. It owes its name to the Impulse series, produced in the 80s of the last century. This model has characteristics and driving performance that are quite standard for a 400 cc “classic”, which did not prevent it from becoming very popular and staying on the production line for a long time. The engine from Suzuki GSF 400 was used as an internal combustion engine.
During its release, the GSX 400 Impulse was repeatedly upgraded. A couple of years after the start of production, in 1996, it received new suspension from Kayaba, and in 1999, the front brake system was updated, replacing the calipers with Brembo. In subsequent years, the motorcycle received minor cosmetic changes, and since 2004, the second generation of the model, equipped with a different exhaust and having a number of minor differences, went into production. The motorcycle continued to be produced in this form until it was discontinued.

Review of the Suzuki GSX 400 Impulse motorcycle
Model of the classic road motorcycle Suzuki GSX 400 Impulse
appeared in 1994 as a successor to the old GSX Impulse series from the 80s of the last century. During these same years, the Suzuki GSF400 Bandit model was present on the market, which positioned itself as a “naked” bike, while the Impulse 400 was a classic motorcycle with simpler equipment and classic external features of Japanese models of the 80s.
The Suzuki Impulse 400 was based on an in-line 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with a volume of 399 cm³, producing a standard 53 hp. power and 37 Nm of torque.
In parallel with the regular version of the Suzuki GSX 400 Impulse, an S version with a front half-fairing was also offered (in Japanese sources it is often called Type S
).
In 1999, the model received new 4-piston Brembo brakes at the front and production of the model was suspended.
In 2005, the model went on sale again, but in an updated form: a new exhaust with a catalyst (to meet new environmental requirements), new carburetors with a throttle position sensor and a new “S” logo on the gas tank.
2007 was the last year of production of the Suzuki GSX400 Impulse, which was released in several color versions. By 2008, the motorcycle finally left the assembly line and did not receive further development.

Design Features
