Motocross motorcycle KAYO T2-G 250 ENDURO 21/18 (2019) Title

✔ Benefits

  • Universal (allows you to drive around the city, highways and light off-road).
  • Unpretentious in maintenance. Adjusting valves, changing oil and other procedures can be done even by beginners.

Motocross motorcycle KAYO T2-G 250 ENDURO 21/18 (2019) Title

Here is the KAYO T2G 250 cross-country enduro motorcycle of the 2019 model year.

The KAYO brand belongs to the factory of the same name in China and can safely be placed on the same level as such giants as BSE, LIFAN, ZONGSHEN. The equipment of this brand has been on the Russian market for a long time (since 2012) and has proven itself positively. The quality of motorcycles is quite stable, all shortcomings and design defects are eliminated quickly from batch to batch. The popularity of KAYO equipment is growing every year.

KAYO T2G 250 is a full-fledged enduro motorcycle with a title . You can register it with the traffic police and also drive on public roads if you have category A.

Seat height is: 860 mm , wheelbase: 1350 mm, Ground clearance 290 mm Maximum load 175 kg Gas tank volume 6.7 l, motorcycle weight: 110 kg

This naturally implies the mandatory presence of lighting equipment, a speedometer (LED instrument panel), rear-view mirrors and a plate for installing a license plate.

In addition, protective covers for the fork stays have been added to increase their service life.

The covers protect the suspension seals from dirt and abrasives, which lead to scratches on the fork legs or shock absorber rod, which in turn cause oil leaks from the suspension over time - so this is a useful device.

The mixture is ignited by a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, two-valve gasoline engine 169FMM , with a displacement of 223cc and a stated power of 16.5 hp. Transmission: 5-speed, classic shift pattern - first down, the rest up. The engine is started by an electric starter or a mechanical kickstarter.

The air mixture is supplied by a NIBBI PE28 carburetor ; the air filter is made in the form of a closed filter box - therefore, the likelihood of water penetrating into the engine through the air filter is minimal.

The front suspension is an inverted fork , without adjustments, with a stroke of 220 mm. The rear suspension is a monoshock absorber , which has only spring preload among the available adjustments, which allows you to more accurately adjust the suspension to the rider’s weight.

Wheels: Front disc 1.6 -21″, Rear disc 2.15-18″ Rims and hubs are made of aluminum alloy. The hubs are equipped with boots to increase bearing life. spokes made of stainless steel.. The discs are equipped with towbars, which prevent tires from turning when driving at low pressure up to 1 atm. Yuanxing tires, Front tire 80/100-21 Rear tire 100/90-18.

Drive on a strong 520 chain . An upper protective cover is installed on top of the chain to prevent a passenger's pants or boots from getting caught in the chain.

The brake system is standard hydraulic, 2-piston caliper at the front and single-piston at the rear, brake disc size: 240mm front and 210mm rear.

Front caliper and disc. Good durable pads are installed .

It is also worth noting the rather impressive design of the stainless steel muffler.

Let's summarize - in general, take it and ride wherever you want in the literal sense: if you want through fields and forests, or if you want to go to a neighboring city along the roads - everything is possible on it. By the way, the maximum speed stated by the manufacturer is 115 km/h, so traveling at “cruising” speeds of 100 km/h will be quite comfortable. And of course, let’s not forget about having a category A driver’s license .

You can always buy or order this and other models in our store. We hope you enjoyed our quick REVIEW. Thank you for your attention.

❌ Disadvantages

  • In terms of dynamic characteristics, it is inferior to any Japanese analogue (but costs 5-6 times less).
  • A narrow seat that is difficult to sit in for a long time.
  • The rims and subframe (weak, when hit at speed in large holes, they immediately bend).
  • The standard 520 chain is prone to stretching, so it is recommended to replace it after a year of intensive use.
  • There is no fuel sensor, which is very inconvenient.
  • The rear shock absorber may need modification, as it is unreliable and may not withstand constant driving on rough roads.
  • Often there is such a defect as rattling when driving, which occurs due to the lack of valve clearance (you must manually set 0.06-0.07 for the intake and 0.08-0.09 for the exhaust).
  • The license plate mount is fragile and may crack after a few drops.
  • There is no oil filter, but you can buy and install a mesh (ZS CB250D-G - it costs no more than 30 rubles).

Design

The motorcycle looks sporty and stylish. The design is quite aggressive, made in KAYO’s signature colors (white, red and black). You can also buy brighter stickers for the feather guards and headlights (a set costs from 2,300 rubles).

Among the interesting features, it is worth noting the presence of engine and underbody protection. There are also hand pads (plastic red guards on the handles). As for optics, the KAYO T2 250 has simple headlights with fairings. The instrument panel is small in size. The display shows an hour meter and a tachometer.

The model is easy to customize: you can install different spare parts, for example, change the rear wing in 5 minutes. It is also possible to remove the disks and wheels from KAYO yourself and install a tracked module instead (it costs around 60,000 rubles). This is how you convert a pit bike into a simple single-track snowmobile.

The bike belongs to the category of sports equipment and does not require a driver's license - but only if it is used off-road and participates in cross-competitions. The motorcycle is sold without title.

Engine

Numerous test drives have proven that the ZONGSHEN ZS169FMM motor can pull a motorcycle out of the thickest mud at any speed. The most convenient way is from the left remote control button on the handle. If suddenly it does not start this way, then it is possible to start the engine in the traditional way - from the foot via a kickstarter.

There is no air damper. Instead, enrichment occurs from the float chamber channel, access to which is opened by lifting the conical needle GX 250 FB71.

Frame

The KAYO T2 has a durable tubular frame with improved rigidity. Durable steel construction minimizes unwanted vibrations while riding. But you have to pay for this with the heavy weight of the device. Together with other parts, the motorcycle pulls 100 kg - when lifting and loading the bike it is difficult to handle alone, you have to call someone for help.

Suspension

The KAYO T2 suspension consists of a telescopic fork and a classic monoshock absorber. The design is not adjustable, but even without it it is suitable for aggressive movement on different routes. It can even withstand light jumps. The suspension travel is 112 mm.

The KAYO T2 G 250 modification has an adjustable suspension, making the motorcycle more suitable for extreme rides and steep hill climbs. But there are also some disadvantages - most pilots complain about vibration even when driving on a straight, level road.

Transmission

The Kayo T2 250 has a manual transmission - a 5-speed gearbox. All gears are switched with the left foot through the clutch lever on the steering wheel pressed with the left hand. The gearshift lever is compact, easily folds and opens with a light touch of the toe.

Chassis

The front tire of the T2 is exactly the same as the one installed in the T4 model – 80/100 (R21). But the manufacturers decided to change the rear to 110/90 (R18). The wheelbase was 1350 mm. Pendulum bearings. There are a pair of 6302 RS on the rear wheels, 6202 on the front wheels. The oil seals have dimensions of 22x35x5.

KAYO T2: Experience of using a stunted Chinese endangered dog by one housewife

Circuit racing ambitions were shattered by family circumstances. The confrontation between husband and wife could not find a balanced solution. The phraseology “she-is-mother” began to sound in new colors and shades. The Japanese six hundred had to be replaced with a Chinese endurka. The thought “this is temporary, this is convenient, this is practical” met desperate resistance from one’s own ego, vanity, its analogues and other similar psychological surrogates.

At first, things didn’t work out for me and KAYO T2, because I could do something that he couldn’t do, and he could do something that I couldn’t do yet. After three sportbikes in a row, I had to change everything: from equipment to posture. It was unusual for my hands to become numb in standing traffic jams when maneuvering slowly, but I had to reduce the speed to nothing, because the 20.4 horsepower of the 105-kilogram machine was not even enough to overtake a third-party housewife colleague in Hyundai. I had to completely forget about the dynamic traffic flow, because even the most seedy pan on the asphalt began to heat up faster than my consumption. The aisle was no longer as comfortable as on a sportbike: the wide handlebar, located at the level of the mirrors of third-party cars, made me yearn for the low clip-ons and at first, out of habit, made me remember the humiliating words of apology of the first-season driver for inept infiltration in especially narrow places. But time heals. And soon, using a “medicinal” grinder, the steering wheel width was changed to a comfortable one. The highest maneuverability of the KAYO T2, formed with the wave of a saw, which I may confuse with the lightness of a motorcycle and the widest (almost inside out) steering angle, unsurpassed in comparison with the Yamaha YZF R6, made it possible to pave the path of life without taking into account the checkerboard order of a bunch of traffic jammers that regularly stand on my not very law-abiding way.

Gradually I began to get a taste for it. The issue of brand prestige was balanced by maintaining mental comfort in certain situations: KAYO and, for example, Husqvarna, left in the same conditions on the street without supervision, burn significantly different numbers of nerve cells. In short, we are, of course, an army.

Time has shown that “Perd” is an incredibly kind creature (yes, I began to call KAYO T2 “Celestial Fart”. Anyone who has heard the sound of the exhaust will understand.). This all-encompassing feeling of kindness (that is, the complete predictability of the behavior of the motorcycle and the absence of uncontrolled dynamics. Well, that is, stunting))) made it possible to introduce the younger generation to the motorcycle theme, while at the same time making their life easier by reducing the travel time to kindergarten. Distance - 4 houses, second gear (the first is very short), a convenient crossbar on the steering wheel so that the little hands of the then 3-year-old daughter can hold on to it, belaying with mother’s knees on both sides. This is how they become the star of a kindergarten: “Mom brought me on a motorcycle!” Later, of course, it turned out that only dad could be a “cool motorcycle racer,” and mom (that is, me) was forbidden to vomit 20 meters with a child as a passenger. Therefore, I had to wait until my baby grew up to the age at which children already know how to keep secrets))

However, I can completely understand, forgive and even share a little of my husband’s hostility towards my fart. On the day of purchase, he stated that he refused to help me with the maintenance of this bastard of nameless, narrow-eyed engineers. Naturally, after some time, the braking distance lengthened to an uncomfortable level, borscht and a couple of modest but effective family life skills brought together an experienced, handy man in the person of her husband and KAYO T2 in one garage with the goal of pumping the rear brake. At that time, we really enjoyed the deadlock situation because of the location of the brake machine, which chose a place that guaranteed an air bag when pumping the rear brake no matter how intensely (northeast of the brake disc). Truly, only Russian ingenuity can master Chinese engineering. But she, too, eventually encounters Ivanushka’s laziness, glorified in fairy tales, and it all ends with the installation of a Nissin brake system lying around in the garage.

They say that all couples are equally happy, but each is unhappy in its own way. Purdue and I were no exception. In her and my good health, I enjoyed the sound, the process, the row spacing, road dust, indescribable convenience, ease of control and graceful feminine hooliganism on special stages. But alas, happiness cannot last forever. My first “traffic light of bewilderment” has arrived. I gasped for her, and she answered me “I didn’t do anything, master-san.” “Liquid metal,” the calling card of the “yellow” equipment of the second delivery, made itself known in the collapsed rear wheel hub. Treatment for the “signature disease” was offered in two options: Dr. Argon Stepanych or a new wheel. In neither case did the low cost keep me from going to the nail salon, so I decided to try a tire change. However, it’s not me who is so stupid, because I have white hair. This supplier had already reoriented by this moment (4 months later, by the way) to the next “generation” of farts, which - what a disgusting thing - will not be able to be a spare part donor for my already outdated “fart”. At this point, my personal myth about the availability of spare parts for Chinese equipment was destroyed, sincere hostility began to seep into my heart, which was only able to be melted by the supplier’s sincere attitude towards my problem. A suitable wheel was finally found, but by that time my trust in domestic welding was already deeper.

The only, perhaps, insoluble issue was the problem of the “wet ass.” After the rain, even sitting down on a dry seat, I arrived at my destination with a swamp on my butt. At work, I began to receive comments from colleagues “it turns out that you REALLY like riding a motorcycle.” It wasn’t funny to me, but I couldn’t do anything about the water seeping through the seams and remaining in the seat.

We ended the 95-hour motor season with an easy walk through the forest.

There is also its own charm in not feeling “no love, no melancholy, no pity” for technology. On this positive note, I decided to take a break from this kind of technology. However, you shouldn’t renounce Chinese technology forever, like a holiday in Turkey.

And yet... if there is an opportunity... go there... comrades...
