• Volume 49.9 cubic meters - pure moped;
• Volume 72 cubic meters - noticeably different in power from a moped, but still have “moped” dynamics.
• The volume is 110 cubic meters - until recently it was the most powerful Alpha moped and has quite motorcycle performance, capable of competing in dynamics with all scooters and even the Yamaha ybr 125.
• The volume of 125 cubic meters has only become an actively selling product in recent years - a full-fledged motorcycle engine.
• Two-cylinder V-shaped engine Alpha with a volume of 250 cubic meters (2 x 125) - no one has seen it, no one has driven it, but they made a video about it, so everyone believes in it. It was not and is not on sale.

Each of the above types of engines (we are not considering the 2-cylinder one, since it does not exist for sale) exists in the following two modifications based on the type of gearbox:

• semi-automatic - there is no clutch, it is automatic: these engines were considered progressive by the Chinese at one time, so they were installed on sort of sports alphas from the G-max company.
• Mechanics are the most popular and convenient type of gearbox.

G-max racer is not the most successful invention.
The Delta moped is the same as the Alpha. All characteristics are similar. Anyone who seeks deep difference is doomed to failure, since there are no differences. The only differences are external. The Delta is more rare, more rustic, it has a square, somewhat dated headlight, and a rectangular speedometer, the tank is located as part of the frame, which allows you to use the free space for the pannier.

Its engine costs 10,000 rubles. And this is the price of a new one! With very careful maintenance, it can travel 35 thousand kilometers without failures. Now tell me, is there a more profitable motor on the planet? 3.5 kilometers of engine life costs exactly 1 ruble! Is the motor broken? Throw it away, buy a new one and you have a new alpha again. Yes, this is exactly why everyone loves this moped. There are about 2 dozen factories producing Alpha engines. Zongshen is considered the best.

There are myths, and sellers are very fond of misleading them, that there is a Japanese engine for Alpha. It is not true. The last Japanese engine for this technique was created in the late 80s and was no longer produced.

Knowing the correct criteria for choosing a moped and scooter, you can buy a vehicle that will last for many years:

1. The width of the scooter wheels should not be less than 3.5-4 cm, and the diameter should not be less than 12-13 cm. For a moped, the optimal figure would be 17 inches.
2. For getting around the city, the best option would be a vehicle with a six-liter engine and an average consumption of 1.5-2 liters per 100 km.
3. To travel outside the city, you will need a scooter with a nine-liter engine and an air-cooling system for the engine.
4. A telescopic shock absorber will simplify the operation of the vehicle, and disc brakes will increase reliability. Ideally, the shock absorption system should be on both the front and rear wheels.
5. A dismountable muffler on mopeds and scooters will greatly simplify cleaning.
6. For a teenager, a scooter with a power of 3 hp is suitable. It is capable of accelerating to 45-50 km/h and weighs no more than 90 kg.

In addition to appearance, it also improves the technical parameters of the engine. If you install such a filter on an alpha moped, the engine will receive more air, which means it breathes better. This gives some power gain, but you probably won't notice it.

Complete repainting will help to radically update and make high-quality tuning of the alpha moped. In the case of the Alpha, we have chrome fenders, a trunk, a steering wheel and some other elements that make no sense to repaint. More details about the motor

The Alpha motorcycle, the photo of which is available above, is equipped with a reliable and unpretentious engine. The motor design was developed by Japanese specialists. Even in a simplified version, using cheaper components, the power plant type 139 FMB functions reliably and is balanced with its associated components.

This engine has the power of five horses and a maximum speed of 7,500 revolutions per minute. However, a well-thought-out transmission system allows it to cope with the intended loads without any problems.

Alpha motorcycles are equipped with a motor whose design is not complicated. The cylinder head includes intake and exhaust valves, the operation of which is ensured by the timing sprocket. The rotation of this element occurs in synchronous interaction with the magneto through a chain transmission.

On the left side of the internal combustion engine there is a foot-operated gear shift lever, which is aggregated with transmission gears mounted in the engine crankcase on a pair of parallel shafts. On the right side of the engine there is a clutch unit, which is controlled from the left steering handle; the oil pump is placed under the crankshaft and is driven by the timing chain.

Engine

The Alpha 110 moped has a four-stroke engine. The volume of such a motor is 110 cubic centimeters, and it is cooled by air. By the way, this engine has one interesting distinctive feature - despite not having the largest volume, it is capable of developing a high level of performance.

In addition, the electric starter is launched using this motor. Moreover, in the event of a breakdown of the electric starter, the driver can always switch to the kickstarter.

Fuel tank

It is worth recognizing that the volume of the fuel tank of the Alpha 110 moped is not very large - the maximum amount of fuel it can hold is four liters.

You should know! These are the passport data, but for unknown reasons the tank holds 6.5 liters. Apparently, this restriction is intended to prevent the driver from overfilling fuel when cornering while leaning.

At the same time, due to the fact that the maximum gasoline consumption per 100 kilometers is two liters, the fuel tank can be characterized as an economical solution by the manufacturer. This fuel tank can only be filled with gasoline of the AI-92 or AI-95 series.

Tests were carried out and 98 and even 76 gasoline were filled. From the AI-76, the carburetor began to malfunction, the float chamber became clogged and the motorcycle stalled. The equipment ran well on the AI-98, but the cylinder overheated too much.

Scooter or moped - which is better?

Let's start with the fact that both types of transport have a lot of similar qualities. For example, to drive a vehicle you need a driver’s license of category M or A1, it all depends on the engine size. They have 2 wheels, are easy to control, easy to maintain and economical in terms of fuel consumption. However, they also have significant differences.

Moped

So, the moped is different:

• increased wheel diameter;
• appearance (looks like a motorcycle);
• easy access to parts and elements (ease of repair);
• load capacity;
• shorter acceleration time;
• manual transmission;
• minimum of plastic elements;
• affordable price.

Among the disadvantages of this type of transport, it is worth noting the open type of fuel tank and manual gearbox. Narrow wheels sometimes get stuck in the mud, but this problem can be solved by installing wider tires.

The following are typical for a scooter:

• smaller wheel diameter than a moped;
• more comfortable fit;
• wide tires;
• decorative appearance (presence of plastic parts);
• better aerodynamics due to streamlined shapes;
• variator (automatic transmission).

Scooter

The scooter is more comfortable in terms of travel, but it also has a higher price, including parts, low ground clearance and small wheel diameter. A scooter cannot be started “with a push” like a moped. Therefore, if the battery is dead, you will have to walk home.

Comparing both of these types of transport, we can say that a scooter is ideal for the city, great for girls and women, because it is easier to learn to drive than a moped. The latter is suitable for young people who want to buy a motorcycle, but currently do not have such an opportunity. But on dirt and country roads the moped will feel clearly better than its urban “colleague”.

Advantages of the model

First of all, it is worth noting that some characteristics of the Alpha 110 moped exceed the distinctive features of two-seater mopeds. For example, this motorcycle is equipped with a comfortable seat for a passenger and a capacious trunk. The seat itself is quite comfortable, and, moreover, even two adult men can fit on it. There have been cases when this moped carried three people. This is unsafe and should never be done, but the fact remains.

Also among the advantages of the moped is that you can make steep climbs on it without much difficulty - this is possible thanks to the four-speed gearbox. An experienced driver is quite capable of achieving maximum performance from a moped engine.

The main advantages of a moped also include an increased level of comfort while moving. Thanks to this, the driver is able to make even particularly long trips. It is worth talking separately about the dashboard - it is quite informative, and due to the large size of the speedometer and tachometer, a quick reading of their indicators is possible even during bad weather conditions.

Even such a modernized moped as Alfa Sport needs professional and high-quality tuning. This is necessary to increase speed and dynamics, as well as to improve the performance of the Chinese model.

Not only the cylinder-piston group, but also the commutator has a significant impact on the dynamics and speed.

The sports switch directly affects the speed of the moped

The factory switch assumes 2-5 thousand engine revolutions per minute. This ensures economy and maximum torque efficiency.

The difficulty lies in the fact that at medium and idle speeds the operation of the engine, which often overheats and periodically “shoots” at the carburetor, will not be stable. In order to protect the model from risks, it needs a sports switch. Unfortunately, such a switch is extremely rare on the market today.

That is why some owners of Chinese motorcycles make a sports switch themselves, or turn to a professional service for help. According to most experts, a tuning switch designed for an Asian scooter (4 tons) is a good alternative solution. Considering that the generators of such models have parameters similar to Alpha Sport, there are no problems with connection or subsequent operation.

The moped can accelerate to 13 kilometers per hour if you use a 15-17 tooth sprocket. It is important to remember that not only the rear and front sprockets need to be replaced, but also the chain.

For rural areas, this is an ideal option; on gravel or uneven surfaces, the standard suspension, where there is a fork in front and two shock absorbers in the rear, helps ensure proper quality. Reliable cast wheels will withstand strong impacts and also improve the overall design of the Alpha 125.

It is worth noting that newer modifications of the Alpha 125 have a slightly improved design; the manufacturer has introduced additional colors and several new visual details. In particular, it is now possible to buy a 125 cc motorcycle with a rear case included, which will help transport a small load. According to reviews from owners, the main advantages of the motorcycle are:

• low fuel consumption - 2.5 l/100;
• light weight - only 80 kg;
• low price - about 40-50 thousand rubles;

But even such advantages do not mean that the Chinese model did not have its own special disadvantages. Alpha 125 is often found with poor quality assembly; due to the negligence of the developers, some parts can quickly break. Owners note that sometimes the motorcycle has poor-quality wiring, too little headlight light, and vibration from the engine throughout the frame. At first, such a motorcycle will seem quite good, powerful and of high quality, but after the first breakdowns you may find frequent but minor faults.

Continuing the review of the Alpha 125, it is worth noting the standard drum brakes, both front and rear. The vibration from the motorcycle is sometimes too great and is transmitted into the welded tubular frame. With low consumption, the fuel tank capacity of 9 liters will be enough for a short trip. The recommended load capacity of up to 120 kg will allow you to take 1 passenger with you, the declared maximum speed will be up to 100 km/h.
