HJC Expands Line of Superhero Helmets

New HJC motorcycle helmets 2019

For the upcoming season, HJC has prepared several new products - both for travelers and for those who value sports above all. Here are three HJC helmets for the 2021 season.

All three new products have been designed with an emphasis on ease of use, perfect appearance and a high level of safety. Thanks to CAD technology, the shells of the helmets have beautiful, tasteful lines and precisely match the shape of the head.

Each of the three helmets used many modern technologies - effective ventilation, antibacterial lining or a quick-release visor system. Each helmet also has a very attractive price.

HJC C70

The HJC C70 is an affordable one-piece helmet available in many interesting colours. Motorcyclists will certainly appreciate it - especially those who appreciate urban style, but also those who like to ride far beyond the city limits.

Despite the low price, it has what you need when traveling on a motorcycle - there is a larger visor for a wide viewing angle, efficient ACS (Advanced Ducted Ventilation System) ventilation and sunscreen with a pop-up and retractable system that protects against harsh lighting.

The interior hygiene will be ensured by a removable lining made of antibacterial SilverCoolPlus material. Price? Quite affordable - only 649 zlotys for a monochrome C70, while the decorated one costs 100 zlotys more.

Motorcycle helmet HJC RPHA 90

Recently they brought an HJC RPHA 90 motorcycle helmet to our editorial office and asked us to write a review. And either our editor was upset about something, or he didn’t like the courier, or I’m the only one in the team who has size M, but in the end, despite my fears about the modulars, it was up to me to write about the new product. It fit just perfectly, the multi-colored lining with antibacterial treatment lay pleasantly on the skin. Even the “jaw” of the helmet clicked into place without any unpleasant sensations, and everything seemed to be fine... but my disbelief cannot be dispelled so easily. Let's go for a ride!

At the time of submitting the article, I had spent a lot of time wearing this motorcycle helmet and had ridden several motorcycles in it. And I still liked him! It fits perfectly on my head, which is more oval than round, and is comfortable both with the jaw raised and latched; The vents allow plenty of airflow and the built-in sunglasses make this helmet ideal for almost any ride.

HJC C90

HJC C90

The HJC C90 is a modular version of the C70 helmet, aimed primarily at motorcycle travelers who expect high quality at a reasonable price.

The HJC C90 has an elegant, subdued design that matches a wide range of clothing and motorcycles. Many of the solutions used by HJC in much more expensive models were used here. Among other things, there is a raised chin area that increases the comfort of using the helmet on a longer route - you can easily communicate with the Scala Rider while riding or ask for directions without removing the helmet.

It comes standard with a sun visor and a hinged mount that protects the visor from fogging. The visor itself can be easily removed for cleaning thanks to the RapidFire system.

The HJC C90 comes in three EPS sizes, allowing you to precisely tailor it to your head size. It is available in four colors - white, silver, black and matte black. The weight of the helmet is 1790 g. The new item costs only 649 zlotys.

HJC Expands Line of Superhero Helmets

Korean helmet manufacturer HJC, to the delight of fans of the Marvel universe, will release its flagship model RPHA 11 Pro in new colors, made in the style of costumes of comic book heroes. The helmet of Spider-Man and his antipode Venom will be added to the already existing line of superhero equipment.

The RPHA 11 Pro Spider-Man comes in red, inspired by the classic Spider-Man suit. White elements, symbolizing the viewing holes in Peter Parker's mask, “float” onto the visor of the helmet. It is not yet known whether a series of glasses will be available specifically for helmets of this color - after all, when changing a used visor, you are unlikely to want to violate the aesthetic integrity of the design.

The redesigned RPHA 11 Pro helmet ventilation system consists of four input and ten output channels

Venom is an alien symbiont that gives its host extraordinary physical properties while feeding on adrenaline from its adrenal glands. Venom's helmet looks more brutal than Spider-Man's protection: the black gloss flowing into the scales, as well as the toothy grin on the bottom of the helmet will not leave indifferent either fans of unusual motorcycle equipment or fans of the Marvel universe.

The aerodynamic helmet spoiler features the Marvel logo

George Hong, CEO of HJC, said he is pleased to collaborate with Marvel. I would like to hope that HJC and Marvel in their symbiosis will not limit themselves only to top-end integrals and will pay attention to modulars and cross-mounted “helmets”.

The pattern of the new RPHA 11 Pro helmet is borrowed from the Spider-Man suit

The RPHA 11 helmet was presented in 2015 at the EICMA exhibition in Milan and is an evolution of the RPHA 10 model. During development, special attention was paid to ventilation and aerodynamic characteristics. Ventilation occurs through four incoming channels; as many as ten output ventilation channels are responsible for removing hot air.

The helmet shell is made using PIM (Premium Integrated Matrix) technology, from composite materials. For a more precise distribution of the applied layers of carbon and aramid fibers, all elements are connected manually. This allowed us to create the most durable, light and comfortable helmet possible.

The outer shell of the RPHA 11 Pro motorcycle helmet is created by combining layers of composite materials

The visor has become larger and wider than on previous generation helmets, which, according to HJC, increased visibility by 3 degrees. Thanks to RapidFire technology, the quick-release visor can be locked slightly open - 5 mm from its original position for better ventilation and airflow. It is possible to install a Pinlock system that prevents the visor from fogging when driving in rain and at low temperatures.

HJC's new flagship RPHA 11 Pro forms the basis of the official "superhero" line of helmets

The lining of the HJC RPHA 11 Pro helmet is completely removable and made of anti-allergenic materials that absorb moisture well and dry quickly. In an emergency, it is possible to quickly unfasten the cheek pad to remove the helmet.

HJC RPHA 11 Pro with updated colors will be available for sale in October 2021 at a price of about 540 euros.

The new Spider-Man film will premiere in July 2017. The main role in the new series of films about the masked vigilante will be played by Tom Holland.

HJC i70

HJC I70

The HJC i70 is a sophisticated full-body helmet designed for motorcyclists who not only love comfort on city roads, but also don’t mind racing on the track from time to time. Thanks to the Vision Plus visor, increased to 10 mm, the driver's field of vision is significantly increased. After the visor, it also increases the integrated sunshade.

The i70 also features an efficient ACS (Advanced Channeling Ventilation System) ventilation system. It consists of five holes in the front interacting with a triple outlet in the rear. Like the C90, the i70 also features the Rapid Fire quick-release visor and pinlock mounting points. The antibacterial and removable helmet lining is made of SilverCool material.

The HJC i70 comes in two body sizes and three EPS sizes, so you can precisely fit it to your head shape. The price varies depending on the color: the monochrome HJC i70 costs only PLN 849, and the bright color one costs PLN 999.

HJC RPHA 70

We were able to try the new product for 2021 - the RPHA 70 helmet - in the city, in long-distance driving, and on the track. Maybe this is not yet a full-fledged resource test, but an opinion about this “safe hat” has already been formed, and I am ready to share it.

This helmet sunk into my soul after its presentation at the Koln Intermot - 2021 exhibition, where the company’s management enthusiastically said that they had managed to create a revolutionary product that could change people’s perceptions of full-face helmets. In short, we have to take it, which is what I did as soon as the first delivery arrived in Moscow.

The first trips took place when there was still snow on the roadsides, and they showed that without the pinlock that comes with the package, the visor sweats. I don’t really like putting a multi-layer sandwich of glass in front of my face, and I hoped that I would be able to avoid this this time, but no, I had to use a pinlock. Fortunately, it does not add optical distortion either along the axis or in peripheral vision: the picture does not float or double. The same can be said about the additional sun visor, which is pulled out by a slider on the chin on the left - the fact that it is pulled out is only reminded by its lower edge, which, on the one hand, is visible if you specifically lower your eyes downwards, but on the other hand, it does not cut the image of the road and dashboard in half.

A well-designed aerodynamic shape and the presence of a built-in dark visor make the RPHA-70 an excellent touring helmet - it is quiet, it does not flap in the wind even at high speeds, you do not need to carry a second glass with you, its visor fits tightly to the rubber gasket and is locked on the latch, excluding water leakage onto the inner surface of the glass, it has a standard pinlock. The standard niches opposite the ears are well soundproofed, and they already have Velcro, where the headset speakers fit perfectly. Music on the road can be heard clearly, and you can talk on the phone on the road without slowing down.

On the track and in the city on hot days, you gain respect for the work carried out by the engineers in organizing head ventilation. One central and two additional upper side air intakes allow you to drive with a dry and cool head even in hot weather. There, the shape is chosen in such a way that when bending down to the tank and lowering the head, the air flow in the grooves of the foam filler along the skin increases, and on the straights, all the heat generated during the passage of a series of slow turns is blown out through two “exhaust” ventilation windows on the back of the head, which are located in aerodynamic vacuum zone and are always open.

There are three ventilation windows on the chin. The top two send air along the visor from the inside and are designed to combat fogging, the bottom one, captured by a steel grill, sends air into the face so that there is something to breathe. This is where the tourism component of the helmet won out over the sports component. The filters that stand in the channels and fight dust and sand reduce their throughput, and even when the air intakes are fully open, there is a little lack of air. On a hot day at the track you have to remove the chin curtain, otherwise you start to suffocate. I'm thinking about opening up this assembly and making the filters thinner or removing them from the channels altogether.

The RPHA -70 helmet is suitable for owners of naked bikes, sportbikes and sports tourists - both in its characteristics and in its appearance it is ideal for this class of motorcycles. On chopper owners it will look overly modern. But I don’t recommend it to owners of full-fledged tourists and cruisers with a high glass or front fairing - in the aerodynamic shadow of the fairing, the front ventilation of the helmet will work poorly - you will have to fully open the visor in the heat so as not to overheat.

I chose a pearl white helmet for myself because it would be easier to brand. But for this model there are many interesting colors with well-developed color schemes. There is also a replica of the Iron Man color scheme in classic burgundy and gold – it’s just a masterpiece!
