But the money for a decent option did not appear at once, good copies sold out during the summer season, after all.. More and more new recommendations from fellow motorcyclists poured into my poor ears: from Transalp to scabies - classics, from tourists like the old Pan-European to maxi-scooters, the latter initially weren’t really in my heart.. In the end I fell for the Suzuki SV400 in the S version, with a semi-fairing. I looked at many copies, and already the money is in my pocket - go, yes take it. But again, an accident, His Happy Majesty. A friend from work lost his license and decided to buy himself a scooter. He asked for some advice... Well, due to my well-readness, I began to load him with brands, models, options, photographs and other people’s reviews. Mainly his The Japanese, who are the majority on the market, were interested. Looking at the pictures and rummaging through megabytes of information, unnoticed by myself I somehow became involved in this topic, and my friends also all tried to draw my attention towards the “variable large cubic capacity of the sofa layout”)))) In short, the main argument is - there are no problems for a not very experienced rider, like me, with a gearbox, luxurious wind protection, comfortable seating, trunk. I was choosing between Skye and Silverwings for a long time, until this Italian steam locomotive caught my eye in the Moto.avto.ru search engine. With its magnificent design this spherical roller stood out sharply from the crowd of small-wheeled pagoda-shaped Japs. The huge, blue beauty simply became a fetish for me. I forgot about 2 wheels with mechanics. Aprilia was the 500th version with a 460 cc engine and almost half a dozen or a dozen horses more powerful than the Japanese 400, comparable in price and year of manufacture. Here I didn’t rush around, but simply went to Mr. Moto and made an advance payment, mesmerized by the spectacle. Indoors, it was not too lost in size among all the Gold Wings. It is smaller, of course, but the color and monumental design create such an illusion quite well. In short, I became the happy owner of an Italian “touren-sofa” by Aprilia. Literally everything about it is pleasing: a trunk-box of canned beer and a bunch of small things fit in there without question. Two disc brakes, two-piston Grimek calipers at the front. Disc and floating caliper at the rear, there is also a standard reinforced hose. Slows down like a plague! Force and performance are measured up to a millimeter of braking distance, it seems! But there were also versions with ABS .. There are heated handles and I’m especially pleased with the extensive windshield, which cuts off all the vicissitudes of bad weather and prevents the head from unscrewing in the wind at speeds above 130. In my opinion, it’s very beautiful tidy, rich functionality of the on-board computer, the screen of which is, however, difficult to read during daylight hours due to the blue backlight. About that same legendary sofa, I can say that it is not only HYPER-comfortable to sit on while traveling, like in a chair at home, but also to sleep for those who don’t have enough space in a tent on a long-distance trip - just know, cover yourself with an awning) The second number, like the Lord’s in his bosom, does not blow, does not shake, the handles are comfortable, the folding footrests are impressive in their area and have such a feature as a small the angle of inclination to the side above the horizon, i.e. when braking, the passenger does not run into the pilot, but rests his feet on them, without fear that his leg will fly off them, because they seem to perform the function of wings in a low-altitude flight)) They are 10 centimeters wide! And in span they extend a little even beyond the side wings boundaries of the extreme points of the front or rear plastic, which can indeed cause trouble. So, when driving around an obstacle in the form of a concrete block, I forgot about the folded-down footrests and struck a pebble with my left... It’s metal, so it was only slightly scratched in the corner. More, glory God, no cosmetic or mechanical troubles were noticed. Of the minuses, the stiff suspension, especially the fork elements. One person shakes over bumps, of course, quite a bit.. With two people, the situation changes for the better. But these are rough irregularities. But it’s worth going out a good asphalt scooter is transformed! Precise in handling, absolutely not sensitive to rutting, it simply ignores small irregularities, you won’t notice them, thanks to the front wheel with a diameter of 15″. It fits in turns, it’s practically up to the muffler - the main thing is not to scratch the chrome there. It’s on the right. And on the left is the limiter for the central footrest. Yes, the device is heavy. But on the track this is only a plus. In any case, you get used to its dimensions. A couple of weeks was enough for me. Now almost any bike, for me, is like a bicycle in terms of static sensations (monumental Golden wings roads and large-capacity choppers are not taken into account). 200 kg makes the difference!) I would like more output from an engine with a volume of almost half a liter, of course... up to 100,000 the Atlantic simply shoots (by scooter standards, of course) 6-7 seconds. After 110, the dynamics begin to fade ..I set the speedometer needle to 150, but it seems like it’s taking a long time. A strangled European from Japan. The plans are to install Power Commander and thereby slightly change the engine control program. There is a reserve in terms of power, no doubt. I would like a more vigorous set of maximum speed. The downside to this, a beautiful muffler of Italian blood, but wildly heavy and suffocated by as many as 3 catalysts, will be replaced to a no less thoroughbred forward flow, which is also 15 kg lighter, which is not unimportant. Of course, the notorious multi-cooker and another clutch are waiting to be installed in the future. That’s all later, but for now the plans include installing music and several useful gizmos. Externally I’ll leave it as it should be. For me, its design is inimitable, interesting even in stock. I don’t think it’s necessary to carry out any styling. Aprilia! I'm lov'in it!;) Now sold
