The BM ATV 500 MAX ATV is suitable for driving on city streets

Baltmotors ATVs are the first domestic equipment designed for off-road driving and participation in extreme races. The Baltmotors company was founded in 2004, and is now the largest Russian manufacturer of motorcycles.

Thanks to sufficient experience and a special approach to production, Baltmotors ATVs are an excellent alternative to expensive products from famous brands. More than 100 thousand of our compatriots use all-terrain vehicles of this brand.

Utility ATVs

If an all-terrain vehicle is needed for walking on rough terrain in nature or performing household tasks, it is recommended to give preference to utilitarian ATVs of medium power. This technique is versatile and can withstand long-term loads . Such ATVs are capable of cultivating soil with the help of appropriate attachments, transporting cargo or transporting equipment for fishing or hunting.

Almost all all-wheel drive models are equipped with a front differential lock . The devices have a reliable and unpretentious motor, complemented by a transmission with a low gear. These are traction working models with high functionality. The equipment is ready to work in difficult conditions, and can also be used for movement on public roads.

The standard equipment of the devices includes a winch, which allows you to pull the ATV out of a hole, sticky mud or deep puddle. A kick starter is also provided. It will allow you to start the vehicle if the battery is dead.

One of the popular models in this category is the Baltmotors Striker 500 EFI , which has the following technical characteristics:

  • Engine – Hisun with a volume of 471 cc. cm.
  • The transmission is a V-belt type variator with 4 steps and a reverse function.
  • The power supply system is injection.
  • Drive – the device can be either all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive.
  • Weight – 319 kg.
  • Dimensions (LxWxH) – 2.25x1.17x1.225 m.

The BM ATV 500 MAX ATV is suitable for driving on city streets

Another article about the Baltmotors ATV 500 ATV that I love so much. I found it in the Moto magazine.

An ATV on city streets is a rarity, because you can’t ride one here. But if you really want it, you’ll find one with LZYA on it!

They are not allowed to ride them on the streets, because ATVs are classified as off-road vehicles - they are equal to tractors and in the vast majority of cases are not homologated for driving on public roads. Even if the four-wheeler is equipped with a lighting package - brake lights, headlights, turn signals. The law prohibits it - that's it... But not everything is so hopeless. One of my friends bought a VM 500 max, and he ended up with normal “travel” documents. The owner went to the traffic police department to register the quad. I took a deep breath (waiting for them to “send”), but strangely enough there were no difficulties with the registration of the car: according to the documents, it belongs to category “A”, i.e. equal to motorcycles. I spent no more time than I once did when registering my Izh-Jupiter-5 - and attached the license plate. And, of course, ride! Around the city!.. And he allowed me to “feel the muscles” of this almost 400-kilogram “brick”.

Quickly start the engine - and gas, gas!.. It didn’t work out soon: the crowd of switches on the steering wheel handles was confusing. For quite a long time I studied the purpose of each button until I found the coveted “Starter”. But he, the electric starter, is not alone here: the “electronic leg” is duplicated by a manual starter with a cable. I tried to start the engine with its help. It’s good that I’m not deprived of health: a weakling can hardly turn a “pot” of 500 “cubes”. “Brrrrr,” said the engine, and it warmed up. I imagined how the reciprocating movement of the mighty piston takes place, how lazily the gas distribution mechanism works (the camshaft rotates twice as slow)... That’s how “lazy” it is! I didn't expect such fast acceleration. The dynamics of the VM 500 MAX up to 60 km/h are not inferior to a 150 cc scooter. However, considerable mass and reduced torque in the mid- and low-speed zone already take their toll. This is how it feels. According to the “passport” characteristics, maximum torque occurs only at 5500 rpm. Perhaps that is why the “maximum speed” is decent - 90 km/h according to the speedometer. Not only power indicators warm the soul of a city rider. I see how the mere presence of a quad on the street causes a reaction from motorists - they step aside, increase the distance, and pedestrians look away in bewilderment. I accelerated downhill, driving as hard as I could... And I got carried away: I didn’t notice the Oka driving out from the side. If it weren’t for two ventilated discs in front and one in the back, or something simpler, I would have rammed the car. The brakes saved me from trouble: they “grabbed” perfectly. True, the information content leaves much to be desired. Heartfelt thanks (as well as renal and cranial thanks) to the designers for duplicating the rear brake with a lever on the left handlebar, because in a hurry you may not have time to hit the pedal with your foot. Wow, I'm tired... I turned into the parking lot. It's free, which is good, but you can't fit cars on it. Drive more carefully here. Conveniently, this ATV has a reduction gear. You select the desired segment with a “poker” - and the quad is no longer torn like crazy, and it’s easier to squeeze between expensive cars on such a tame device. The CVT transmission in the car is enough to get confused: upshift, downshift, park, neutral and reverse gears. Full set! And not to say that you will only have to use it all off-road - in the “parking” position you can stand downhill without fear that the equipment will roll downhill. But connecting all-wheel drive on asphalt is a useless thing. Firstly, the rubber will quickly “eat up” (it is already mercilessly worn out), and secondly, all-wheel drive increases the load on the axle axles. And why the 4x4 formula in the city? Unless you roll over the rubble of cars broken in accidents...

The dashboard provides a comprehensive list of information.

Anyone who is used to “naked” scooter handles will not figure it out right away.

Apart from the throttle trigger, you won’t need anything else from this set if you’re driving in the city.

I’ll rightly “kick” what is called controllability. The VM 500 MAX has a very high center of gravity, and when cornering the quadric tends to tip over every now and then. So its driver should definitely learn to hang into the inner part of the trajectory. I can’t say that this is a panacea against capsizing, but it’s definitely something that will give stability. Carefully calculate the speed at which you are moving and the configuration of the turn. You won’t be able to skid through it: the “rollers” are tightly “glued” to the asphalt. Will riding around the city on an ATV become a craze? Hardly. Not widespread, I have no doubt. In any case, the owner who provided this quadric for testing periodically “maniacs” in the abyss of the city with a group of his own kind.

ENGINE The engine power is quite enough for moderately dynamic movement. CHASSIS An indicative point: you can “push” speed bumps without slowing down a bit. BRAKES Surprisingly effective: slowing down with them is intense. However, they cannot withstand a series of long-term braking - they overheat. DEVICES AND LIGHTING The “tidy” is decorated without any frills. All information from the dials is easy to read. The headlights illuminate the road sufficiently. The brake light is clearly visible to drivers behind moving vehicles. COMFORT Direct landing does not load the driver's back. The steering wheel is low enough so your hands don’t get tired. The ATV is a two-seater, riding it with a passenger for an hour or two is not tiring for both. DRIVE The city is yours! PRICE Significantly lower (!) than Japanese classmates. But if I were going to buy a VM 500 MAX, I said: it could have been more humane

Children's ATVs

Another area of the company’s work is the production of children’s ATVs. This is a bright, functional technique designed for children of different ages . It has high reliability and safety indicators. For the youngest riders, the company produces ATVs with an electric motor, which makes them easy for children aged 6 years and older to operate. This is a bright, obedient all-terrain vehicle that will be the best gift for a baby.

Teenage models have a gasoline engine, which provides high dynamic performance and allows you to overcome small and medium-sized obstacles when driving off-road. All-terrain vehicles in this group look no worse than sports ATVs. The high profile wheels with an aggressive tread pattern, wide arches, and sweeping lining lines look impressive. The most popular model for teenagers is the Jam 100, which has the following characteristics:

Model range of Baltmotors ATVs

The Baltmotors company laid the foundations of its existence in 1996 in distant Kaliningrad. At first, the main activity was the intermediary sale of cars and motorcycles and their warranty service. Over time, the product range expanded, and sales levels grew accordingly. The market demanded diversification of trade turnover and business development. It was decided to create our own assembly shops, which happened in the spring of 2004.

The competitive environment demands high quality and low prices. Therefore, the Chinese company QINGQI has become a reliable partner. It was as a result of cooperation with her that the well-known Joy scooter appeared. The equipment is assembled from original components from the best manufacturers (Zongshen, Kreidler, Standard Motor Corporation) under license from Suzuki, Yamaha and Selva. Currently, Baltmotors has formed a large dealer network throughout the country. Every year 30 thousand units of equipment roll off the assembly line.

In 2007, the product range expanded with the release of its own line of ATVs. At the moment there are four utilitarian models and two small-sized ones. Baltmotors Jumbo 700 is a rather large machine with a strong body. Excellent for off-road use, the 675 cm3 engine accelerates the all-terrain vehicle to 100 km/h. The legendary CVT transmission, all-wheel drive, and independent suspension prove that domestic developments can compete with well-known brands. Baltmotors Jumbo 700 MAX and Baltmotors Jumbo 700 MAX LUX have similar technical characteristics. They are 19 cm longer than their predecessor due to the passenger seat. For the convenience of the second traveler there is a backrest and handles. Both models are equipped with a winch, a digital display, and the electrics are protected from dirt and moisture.

Baltmotors MBX is intended for sophisticated speed lovers. Streamlined lines, elegant design, sporty exterior - this ATV is worthy of its name. The small-capacity Baltmotors Jam 100 and Baltmotors Junior are designed specifically for novice racers. Even a child can handle a two-stroke 100 cc engine with a CVT gearbox. Confident control over the quad is provided by hydraulic disc brakes.

Despite the fact that the Baltmotors brand has been producing ATVs for a short time, the Kaliningrad team became a leader in the international competition Can-Am Trophy Russia-2013.
