Operating manual for Snowmobile DINGO T150 (part 1)

The Dingo T150 snowmobile is the third generation of compact and convenient dismountable equipment, designed by Russian design engineers. The new model of the Dingo T150 snowmobile uses a more powerful power plant than its predecessors, namely a four-stroke gasoline engine with forced air cooling.

In order to increase cross-country ability, the manufacturer lengthened the rubber-fabric reinforced caterpillar track to 2626 millimeters, increased the lugs to 23 millimeters, and also improved the new roller-slide type suspension with two shock absorbers.

This snowmobile has an electric starter, but the power unit can also be started manually. Despite its rather compact overall dimensions, the machine is capable of transporting weight up to 150 kilograms. Dingo T150 may well become an indispensable assistant in various farms.

The machine has a reversible gearbox. The updated model of the snowmobile features two-position heating of the gas trigger and steering handles, which ensures comfortable operation in all weather conditions. There is also a special glove compartment located under the seat of the snowmobile, which allows you to carry everything you need with you. Large loads can be placed already in the trunk. Thanks to the presence of a reinforced tow bar, the snowmobile can drag behind it a drag sled with various loads, the total weight of which should not exceed 150 kilograms. The design provides a built-in 12-volt socket, with which you can use either a navigator or charge a mobile phone battery. The instrument panel of this snowmobile is quite multifunctional, and it also shows the crankshaft speed of the power unit, travel speed, ambient temperature, mileage, and, well, time.

As for control, the Dingo T150 snowmobile is quite simple, even a child can handle it. The machine's transmission consists of a variator, which also ensures ease of operation. If you do not take into account the fact that the snowmobile was originally designed for operation at low ambient temperatures, since it is equipped only with an air cooling system, then this model is able to work properly, without overheating the power plant and in warm conditions. Moreover, if the engine overheats, a warning in the form of an exclamation mark will appear on the dashboard. This warning can also occur after driving for quite a long time at high speeds, therefore, you should not put excessive load on the engine, then the snowmobile will last a long time without any malfunctions or breakdowns.

The maneuverability of this snowmobile is also excellent. In terms of handling, the Dingo T150 is much easier than its predecessors, as it responds to even the slightest change in steering rotation. Also, when making a turn, you do not need to tilt yourself, because even when maneuvering on icy surfaces, the car has very good grip.

The field conditions in which all testing of the equipment was carried out demonstrated the endurance and sufficient load-carrying capacity of the snowmobile. The only downside to the whole design is the footrests, namely their location. If you have a large build, your feet may slip because the footrests may seem too small.

Overall, this snowmobile is an excellent option for fishermen, as it allows you to get to all the necessary places in comfortable conditions. Well, the Dingo T150 also has fairly high traction characteristics, which is undoubtedly a big plus.

The history of snowmobiles

The first snowmobiles, which became the prototype of modern snowmobiles, were developed back in 1903 by designer S. S. Nezhdanovsky. The principle of their operation was the action of an internal combustion engine on a special propeller, which set the unusual sled in motion. Such an invention was truly priceless in the vast Russian expanses and snowy winters. Snowmobiles were necessary both in everyday use and in wartime.

With the advent of the track system, with the help of the French inventor Adolphe Kegresse, the first analogue of the snowmobile was invented, tested and introduced in 1911.

Thus began the development of self-propelled sleds, which have undergone various changes over time. This ultimately led to the invention of the modern snowmobile, capable of covering endless kilometers of snow-covered path in the shortest possible time.

A few words about the manufacturer

Irbis Motors was founded in 2001 by a group of young people passionate about motorcycles. They wanted to create equipment that would be accessible to the average buyer, but at the same time not inferior in quality to their Japanese and European counterparts. The first scooter to appear was the Z50R, which was a resounding success. Users liked the model so much that it was later re-released several times, adding improvements.

Currently, the company has a well-developed network of official dealer centers, and the main office is located in Moscow. The manufacturer has more than 30 models of motorcycles of various types, including road bikes, pit bikes, sports and other models. In addition to motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, snowmobiles and motorized towing vehicles are produced under the Irbis brand.

Generation "Dingo"

The first dismountable snowmobile, the Irbis Dingo T110, was released in 2012; according to its markings, it had a 110 cc air-cooled engine. Moreover, the weight of this all-terrain vehicle was 108 kg. At one time, this snowmobile caused a sensation, because it could be disassembled in five minutes.

Two years later, the T125 model was released, which had a larger oil-cooled engine and weighed 2 kg more.

In 2021, the third generation Dingo T150 appeared. A more powerful 4-stroke power unit was installed on board, which had a mixed cooling system - air and additional oil. The all-terrain vehicle also received a longer track, thanks to which it behaved better on loose snow. Despite its compact size, this “snowball” could withstand a load of 150 kg. The main difference between the latest model was the presence of an automatic transmission, while the previous ones had a manual transmission.

This model has received very flattering reviews from its owners. Subsequently, it underwent several modifications. At the beginning of 2021, a new fifth generation appeared.

Price

Such equipment falls into the category of rather expensive entertainment and the cost of cars most often starts from 250 thousand Russian rubles. The Dingo T150 snowmobile surprisingly has a very affordable price, namely, in a completely new technical condition, it can be purchased at prices ranging from 99 thousand to 115 thousand Russian rubles. A used option can be even cheaper. At this price, it has very good qualities, even its appearance, from the fit of parts to the overall design, is made at a high level.

Purpose of a snowmobile.

In order for the Dingo T150 to serve its owner for as long as possible, it is worth taking proper care of it. Following several rules will make it easier to start a snowmobile in extreme cold:

In Russia, a local dealer offers a limited range of their snowmobiles. In addition to the original model Irbis Dingo T200, you can also find an improved device called T200 By X-Motors. The peculiarity of this car is the tuning of the external and technical parts. The package also includes a more reliable Japanese CVT and an improved engine with increased displacement. It is also produced under license from Japanese partners. The modernization carried out significantly affected the speed characteristics of the snowmobile, while the cost remained at the same level. Of course, there are tuning options from other companies, but the T200 By X-Motors version is considered the most technically advanced.

Owner reviews

Dingo T150 has many reviews and some of them are presented below:

  • I recently purchased a new snowmobile and I was simply delighted with the ergonomics, which were performed at the highest level. I don’t know whether the manufacturer did this on purpose or whether this happened due to the design features of the machine, but operating this model is quite simple and convenient. The seating position is upright, there are quite comfortable footrests, heated grips and a comfortable seat. There is a feeling of comfort in all this. The control levers came out very organic, which is also a plus. The only negative, in my opinion, is the windshield, which is practically useless. The main task of this glass is to cut off cold oncoming flow, but this does not happen. Because the glass is installed at a right angle and the entire flow is directed directly into the face. I didn't notice any other shortcomings.
  • I've already covered 1,500 kilometers and I can quite confidently say that it fully met my expectations and even exceeded them in some moments. I often carry loads weighing up to 120 kilograms and practically no changes in dynamics are felt, since the snowmobile confidently pulls the sled and picks up speed. I haven’t accelerated more than 40 kilometers per hour yet, because it’s just scary. Due to the narrow base, there is a risk of falling off the snowmobile. I was also pleased with the heated steering grips, which provide additional driving comfort and economical fuel consumption, although I haven’t measured it in numbers myself, it doesn’t really hurt my pocket. Among the disadvantages, I would like to note that it is harder for a snowmobile to pull with a passenger, and it is also inconvenient for itself. Otherwise, I'm completely satisfied with it.

Minuses

Remember that to operate a snowmobile legally, you must have a tractor driver’s license of the appropriate category, and also register your snowmobile with the State Technical Supervision Authority. The company's Russian engineers designed this model so that it can be disassembled and put back together without the use of any tools in a matter of minutes.
