The Chinese motorcycle GX Moto 250 is one of the many small-capacity bikes from the Middle Kingdom that have flooded the lower price segment of the motorcycle market. All the usual signs are in place - external copying of Japanese sports bikes, a weak power unit, claims to seem like a full-fledged sports motorcycle... Externally, the GX Moto 250 is very reminiscent of both the bike that the Chinese were clearly inspired by when creating it - the Yamaha R1 - and its competitors, which look like the same “Japanese”, for example, Genata GM250YZF-R. True, the similarities between the two Chinese motorcycles are mainly external, but not only.
The GX Moto 250 is equipped with a single-cylinder 250 cc engine with a carburetor power supply system, a 5-speed gearbox and a chain drive. According to the sellers, this engine is capable of producing 20 hp. at the peak of power, but at this point certain doubts arise - the aforementioned Genata, with an almost identical engine, has only 16 hp, and this seems more honest. Although it’s no secret that the Chinese like to inflate the characteristics of their production equipment on paper.
But the speedometer, marked up to 220 km/h, looks very, very funny, taking into account the technical characteristics of the GX Moto 250. With the same success it was possible to draw all 300 km/h on the speedometer, why bother?
The plastic is of the usual quality for the Chinese, that is, it is different on each individual motorcycle. You come across both well-assembled specimens and bikes with crooked gaps and paint that, it seems, can be easily torn off with a fingernail. When choosing such a motorcycle, it is definitely necessary to meticulously inspect each instance, and in any case, mentally prepare for the fact that after the purchase you will have to tighten all the loose nuts yourself and collect dangling wires into bundles. In short, the GX Moto 250 is one of the countless army of inexpensive Chinese motorcycles that tries to seem like something it is not. In this case, it is trying to seem like a sportbike; for this purpose, the designers even installed two brake discs on its front wheel, but, nevertheless, everything is in vain. An external attempt to look like a sports motorcycle does not make the GX Moto 250 one. In its plastic chest beats a weak and outdated heart, just like in a whole bunch of other Chinese bikes, which, however, are trying to pretend not to be sportbikes, but classics and enduros. But this doesn’t change things - this motorcycle rides just like all its classmates, except that it brakes really well.
