The Stels ATV 600 Y Leopard ATV is the result of a decision to take reliability and quality indicators, as well as the availability of components, to a new level. This is explained by the fact that no components made by Chinese manufacturers were used in the creation of this model. Stealth ATV 600 Leopard can be called the first model that was completely developed and manufactured by the Zhukovsky Motovelozavod.
The power plant of the ATV has a carburetor fuel system and liquid cooling. The motor was also provided by a domestic manufacturer, as were many other elements of the machine. Its rated power is 39 horsepower with a volume of 594 cubic meters. Perhaps one of the main features of this unit is its impressive torque, thanks to which the equipment copes well with increased loads and has traction throughout the entire operating range.
The initial stage of production of the ATV implies the presence of a body transferred from another equally famous model, Hisun ATV 500. This was done so that many elements were interchangeable between these models. Thus, there are no problems when searching for spare parts.
The Stealth ATV 600 Leopard model is equipped with a dashboard from the manufacturer Koso. This element turned out to be very informative and clearly displays information regardless of temperature conditions.
One of the key advantages of an ATV is predictable handling and riding comfort. The equipment perfectly maintains its stability even when taking sharp turns. It should also be noted that the machine has an impressive margin of safety. This was largely due to the efficient suspension.

High reliability is also due to elements with high reliability and strength, which include the frame and suspension. Long-known models were chosen as the base for the Stels ATV 600 Y Leopard version, namely Stels ATV500H and ATV700H. The choice fell on these two models mainly due to the fact that in addition to successfully conducted tests, the technology was also time-tested. The frame and suspension underwent many improvements and redesigns before being installed on the new car. They have received reinforcements, which guarantees an increased service life. The frame is manufactured using modern robotic equipment at ZhMVZ.
A large margin of safety for the suspension was also achieved through the use of forged elements and parts made of high-strength alloy. Forged steering knuckles and wheel hubs are installed, and upper and lower tubular arms are made from stamped parts. To increase the service life of the chassis, the hubs were supplemented with reliable bearings from Koyo.
The suspension is characterized by excellent smoothness and large travel (170 millimeters at the front, 225 millimeters at the rear), which was due to the presence of hydraulic shock absorbers from the Taiwanese manufacturer Forsa.
The Stels ATV 600 Y Leopard ATV has a reliable braking system, which was developed in Russia by a domestic manufacturer together with a Taiwanese company. Compared to previous models, the brakes of the new ATV have truly greater efficiency and better feedback, which guarantees safety when driving. The reliability of this element of equipment has been significantly increased due to the use of reinforced brake hoses in the system, which, compared to conventional ones, are designed for a longer service life.
The reliability and quality of the ATV has also been increased through the use of electrical wiring protected from moisture. Electrical components such as relays and fuses have been moved to a special box that is protected from dust and moisture to ensure increased service life.
The rider receives all the necessary information when operating the ATV (fuel level, travel speed, oil pressure, fluid temperature in the cooling system and many other parameters) from the Italian Koso dashboard.
When choosing steering switches, the choice was made in favor of proven and proven remote controls on other similar motorcycles, provided by the Taiwanese manufacturer. The installed remote controls are also actively used in many Stealth models, usually in the D and GT trim levels.
In terms of appearance, this ATV took a lot from the world famous Japanese Yamaha Grizly. Facing elements made of plastic are provided by the Motovelozavod itself, located in Zhukovka. It should be noted that before the manufacture of these parts, the manufacturer carried out numerous analyzes and experiments, which made it possible to select the highest quality and durable material for the manufacture of the cladding. As a result, all plastic parts have an excellent combination of elasticity and strength. This lining is least susceptible to any damage, since it can withstand quite powerful blows. Thanks to this, the fenders and footpegs will last much longer, since it is they that often become unusable when driving in difficult conditions.

The new utilitarian ATV Stels ATV 600 Leopard is only externally similar to its predecessors: purely technologically, in order not to increase the cost of production, the company decided for now to leave the plastic prepared for previous models. Otherwise, this is a new development by Velomotors engineers, who know first-hand the operating conditions of all-terrain vehicles in Russia.
What is required from a utilitarian quadric first of all? Reliability and maneuverability. Comfort, speed and everything else can wait. First you need to get into the jungle, and then get out of it. To ensure this “prose of life”, the company abandoned Chinese components and assembles “Leopards” from parts of its own production or purchases components from well-known manufacturers from Taiwan, Japan and Italy: functional sealed Koso devices, Koyo bearings, Forsa shock absorbers, etc. The 600cc single-barrel engine was originally intended for heavier-duty UTVs, so it has a serious margin of safety. Velomotors engineers modified it: they changed the mounting points and the shape of the crankcase, calculated and optimized the intake and exhaust system. The engine is powered by a Mikuni carburetor - all for the sake of reliability.
The power unit turned out to be quite large: the variator cover protrudes noticeably towards the right footrest, so much so that you have to spread your legs far apart, and a short driver can practically forget about driving while standing, because it is not possible to reliably cling to the footpegs with your feet. Therefore, we had to make our way through the hummocks and rock-strewn ascent to Ai-Petri slowly, with concentration and while sitting. Which, however, did not affect the result: 38 “horses”, traction of 54 Nm, good suspension, “evil” tires and all-wheel drive with a locked front differential are enough to overcome very difficult obstacles, which we saw in full in Crimea with its broken places in complete rubbish with asphalt (it would be better if it wasn’t there at all!), rocky slopes, washed out paths. I overcame some places reluctantly: I really felt sorry for the equipment, and it seemed that now, at best, I would lose the wheels, or even the rods and the variator belt in addition. But “Leopard” coped with everything! It is not for nothing that it was named after not the fastest and not the largest, but a powerful, strong predator that is able to drag an antelope weighing two-thirds of its own up a tree.
Stels engineers did not limit themselves to only strong components. They tried to take into account all the conditions for using ATVs as much as possible. The Leopard is equipped with a manual starter in addition to the electric one. Ground clearance is 320 mm, suspension travel is 170 at the front and 225 at the rear. Due to the small wheels (12”) and calculated geometry, the quad can be steered quite easily without any power steering. The motor is assembled in such a way that it will withstand even a short trip on emulsion, if somehow you managed to drown the ATV and it took in water through the high-mounted air intake: the Leopard can be painlessly immersed in water up to the seat.
The suspension on a relatively flat surface feels stiff and hits your hands, but when you drive through a deep hole, a diagonal ditch from a stream or a fallen thick branch, you just drive through them without paying much attention. A short wheelbase (the ATV is single-seater; although the long, comfortable seat allows you to take a passenger on board, you shouldn’t do this off-road) improves the quad’s cross-country ability, but at the same time increases its tipping ability: even at a completely harmless speed, you need to take turns carefully.

Well, the reliability of the Leopard was confirmed by our test, which included both “zero” quads and vehicles with a mileage of more than 4,000 km, and by endurance tests carried out by the plant, during which the quads covered more than 8,000 kilometers without a single breakdown. Well, as for speed and comfort... The seating position on the all-terrain vehicle is quite comfortable, the seat is soft, and you adapt to the heat from the variator and the uncomfortable position of your legs due to the protruding cover. A maximum speed of about 70 km/h is quite enough for any needs, except for racing, but this is still the lot of either much more expensive equipment, or one that can accommodate “everything at once,” but not for long. And if the return of Crimea can be viewed differently, the advantages of the Stels ATV 600 Leopard are as indisputable as the beauty of the Crimean nature.

The release of the STELS ATV 600 ATV is the result of a decision to improve the reliability and quality of equipment, and the stability of the supply of spare parts. To achieve this, the company began to move away from producing ATVs from Chinese components. ATV 600 will be the first ATV under the STELS brand, completely developed and manufactured at the Zhukovsky MotoVelozavod.
The carburetor engine of the model is also a product developed by ZhMVZ engineers; it produces 39 horsepower and has a displacement of 594 cc. The engine has impressive torque, excellent elasticity and traction throughout the entire speed range, and the engine cooling system is liquid.
At the initial stage, the ATV will be produced in the body of the already familiar Hisun ATV 500. This solution ensures the interchangeability of suspension elements and plastics of these models, and will not leave owners of already produced ATVs without spare parts.
The device is equipped with a Koso instrument panel. It is informative and shows a clearly readable image in different temperature conditions, which is especially important for an ATV that is used all year round.
The STELS ATV 600 also features predictable handling and ride comfort, it is stable and handles well in sharp turns. What is important is that the ATV has an impressive margin of safety thanks to the suspension, which absorbs all the bumps on the road.

The Stealth ATV 600 Leopard ATV is currently available for sale at prices ranging from 360 thousand rubles to 410 thousand Russian rubles for a car with zero mileage. The price varies depending on the year of production and configuration, but the type of painting may also affect the final price tag (camouflage colors are often offered). Nowadays, many companies also offer the purchase of motorcycle equipment in installments. The cost of this option is on average 16 thousand Russian rubles per month.
In used condition, this ATV is in the price range from 280 thousand rubles to 335 thousand Russian rubles, depending also on the year of manufacture and mileage.

- In terms of appearance, I really liked the ATV. To some extent, the model resembles a more budget version of the famous Dinli. Before purchasing, I flipped through the forums and looked at who was writing what about this device. Many stated that the quad was very prone to breakdowns, although not so significant, while others, on the contrary, shared only positive impressions. I decided to purchase, so to speak, at my own peril and risk, since there was no other opportunity, but I really wanted to ride. I got a completely reliable ATV and for quite a lot of mileage there were no breakdowns. Many also recommend Cheetah, as it seems to be more reliable. But still, the serviceability of the car directly depends on the driving style and operation in general. So for me, the Stealth ATV 600 Leopard has become an excellent option for relaxation, since I don’t particularly torture my equipment.
- The ATV is said to be very economical compared to other models. But as it turned out, its fuel consumption is simply unrealistic, about 17 liters not per hundred, but even per 50 kilometers. At first I thought that the model itself was so voracious, however, no matter who I asked, everyone said that its consumption varied from 15 liters to 20 liters per 100 kilometers, depending on the type of driving. After that, I decided to contact the service center, where they installed a different carburetor for me under warranty. With the new ATV, it has become much more economical, 10 liters per 60 kilometers, and this despite the fact that the last division remains on the odometer. I haven’t measured the full consumption yet, since I haven’t owned it for long. On the technical side, the model has fully justified itself, everything is reliable and of high quality, and the suspension works perfectly in almost any conditions. But we'll see what happens next.
