Verdict
In general, the Yamaha YBR250 motorcycle is suitable for beginner motorcycle enthusiasts and those who prefer a quiet ride. But when needed, the YBR250 can easily reach speeds of 140 km/h thanks to its powerful 250 cc engine. Perhaps the only drawback is the price, which can stop you from buying.

The headlight is multi-reflective type. The Yamaha YBR 250 is equipped with a dashboard with an LCD screen, which displays all important information in a convenient format, including the technical condition of the motorcycle. For those who are used to driving long distances, an important detail is the gas tank volume is 19 liters, fuel consumption is up to 3 liters per 100 km.
By the way, we recently did a detailed review of the younger brother of the 250 cc YBR, YBR125
It is impossible not to note the comfortable fit, thanks to which the body does not get tired even on long trips. Proper placement of mirrors provides full visibility.

Yamaha YBR 250 is the big brother. Part 2
We continue to talk about the older brother of the Japanese one hundred twenty-five - amaha YBR250. The levers and buttons on the steering wheel are similar to those on older Yamaha models. The rather cheap tank cap slightly spoils the impression, but this is more than compensated for by its capacity - 19.2 liters! This is impressive, with a volume of only 250 cm3.
The motorcycle's wheels are alloy, three-spoke, and are covered in Pirelli tires. Of course, the tires from this manufacturer are much better than the original Sakura tires on the Yamaha YBR125. There is only one good thing about Sakura - they are designed for many years of use, very many years. Pirelli will have to change over time. The swingarm of the Yamaha YBR250 is much stiffer and more reliable than its counterpart on the Yamaha YBR125.
The dashboard is simple and informative, but lovers of style and show-off will pass by - it is clearly not stylish. This probably happened because the manufacturer seemed to want to preserve the classic “glass” shape of the tidy and, at the same time, wanted to modernize it. The two-piston front brake caliper is quite grippy, and there is plenty of room under the motorcycle's seat.
The motorcycle was created in the city and for the city. It's hard to argue with that once you've driven it. It is difficult to find any weaknesses or disadvantages in him. Weighing only 138 kilograms and less than one and a half meters of wheelbase make it very compact. The engine demonstrates excellent torque and pulls from 2500 rpm, which means even at traffic lights everything will be fine. The motorcycle is easy to control.
The front disc brake performed very well. The unit is accurate, tenacious and quite informative. The engine is very responsive and easily responds to the movement of the throttle, probably thanks to the fuel injection system. Fuel consumption is at a decent level. The Yamaha YBR250 is a very pleasant motorcycle, both in handling and in comfort for riding on city roads. This is a slightly more powerful, stylish version of the Yamaha YBR125, with improved brakes and tires. An excellent solution for those who have already grown beyond 125cm3. The only question is, is this elegance still worth three times as much? It's up to you, dear buyer!

The YBR 250 is noticeably different from the previous model. All details (pegs, buttons on the steering wheel, levers) are arranged more thoughtfully. A stiffer suspension allows for more aggressive driving in urban environments. The motorcycle has alloy wheels and Pirelli tires. The engine responds quite quickly to the movement of the throttle, which is facilitated by the injection system.
YBR250 - three-quarter view
The only downside of the Yamaha YBR 250 is that it is not for tall people. Thanks to the wheelbase of 1360 mm, it is possible to maneuver between cars. The precise operation of the front brake ensures a smooth stop in any road condition.
Not long ago, an urgent need arose to move to my village beyond Tula. There was no time to get ready or think. Thanks to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which warned in time about the sharp deterioration of the weather. Considering the repeated experience of traveling through black soil, the message from the Ministry of Emergency Situations put the final point in choosing a moto. You need to ride on a light and nimble one, this is exactly what I use for training and move around in city traffic. It's time to test the Yamaha Fazer 250 on the roads of the castle. I set off in the morning, already at the Moscow Ring Road I was greeted by a warm summer rain and the bright sun illuminated my path, I didn’t put on a raincoat and rolled all the way, enjoying the warm scent, and when I turned towards Simferopol the rain stopped and the warm air quickly dried my wet clothes. On a weekday there were few cars heading towards the region and, taking the right lane, I maintained my 110 km/h. Passing motorcycles flying to the South overtook me and said hello. It was getting hot. I stopped at the Pomponchik cafe in front of Serpukhov and, after eating Siberian dumplings, noticed that the dark sky from Moscow was moving in my direction. There are a lot of missed calls on my phone, they are waiting for me, it’s time to hurry up. Soon the phaser reported that gas was running out and I taxied to Lukoil in front of Tula. I decided to measure the mileage on a full tank... I filled the tank full and reset the daily mileage readings. Closer to Tula, there were much more cars on the road and the compactness of the Phaser was very useful here. Behind Tula there were wonderful views of the crops, I rolled along, enjoying the open spaces and smells. The straight, classic landing didn’t tire me, and the steering wheel dampened all vibrations and didn’t hurt my hands, as clip-ons usually do. And now I have already arrived in my village. All that was left was to ride a few kilometers on the ground. The weather was sunny and the road was dry. I felt like a boy riding a bicycle down a hill. Mot was very obedient on the dirt road and quickly took me to the house where bad news awaited me. The house was opened and looted. While we were filling out and writing the application, a day had passed and it was time to move back to the MSC. It was about 9 pm. The Moscow cloud, which was trailing behind me, filled the entire sky, I just managed to get out onto the asphalt and put on my raincoat when it started to rain. Due to the lack of lighting on the highway and the blinding headlights of oncoming cars, the speed dropped sharply. Also, it was necessary to slow down to a minimum in places where new asphalt had been laid and markings had not yet been applied; in such areas it was generally unclear the position on the highway after oncoming cars had passed. But experience and popular wisdom suggested: the quieter you drive, the further you will go. The rain did not stop. Having reached Simferoplka, where the lanes are already divided and the highway is illuminated, I returned to my 110 km/h and already approaching the place where I filled the full tank, the phaser turned on the reserve meter, but I thought of continuing and refueling after Chekhov. The rain shackled my body, I was so lazy to make unnecessary movements that Chekhov drove past and, having already approached the MSK, decided to dry out the tank and check how long it would last. Fortunately, we have a lot of gas stations here and, remembering my past trips, I knew that the best way to warm up was to push the bike)) I was ready. And now, having already passed through ALL of Moscow, I left the Moscow Ring Road again, there were 15 km left to go home, when literally in front of the Balashikha traffic police post on Shchelchka, the car began to stall and I coasted to the SHELL and filled the tank full. It was one o'clock in the morning. For the first time I filled up my car for 800 rubles, the tank was empty))
on a full tank we managed to drive exactly 490 km
the reserve was enough for 109 km. It was much more difficult for me to get back on the bike, my butt categorically refused to fit on the seat and hurt terribly. I spent 4 hours in the saddle without stopping, all the time in the rain. On my Moto Guzzi the seat is much more comfortable and I haven’t experienced such sensations even after 1200 km a day. Perhaps this was the only unpleasant sensation. Otherwise, I was very pleased with the bike and will now consider it as an option for long trips.
As for the equipment. I got ready for this trip quite quickly, completely forgetting about my SHOEI integral, went in a city summer hat RUBY BELVEDERE and then I made a discovery for myself! I was amazed that it didn’t leak, the visor didn’t sweat at all, and I felt so comfortable in it that now I’ll definitely forget about my integral. Old warm boots have saved me from cold and precipitation many times, and this time, although they got wet, they kept me warm all the way home, but my left boot leaked and it’s time to retire it.
Review of Yamaha FZ6S (2005)
This year I sold the phaser.
I drove it 10,000 km. It was purchased in perfect condition, completely original. It was driven by a guy who was about 50 years old.
Before that I traveled to the Urals. When I saw Phaser, I immediately knew it was mine.
Beautiful. Modern. Cowl. The case is original (I always traveled with it, took it off only on the track, it was Chinese and fell off).
Dynamics - after the Urals PLANE.
The brakes are excellent.
Comfortable, at that time, direct landing, powerful 98 hp engine, wind protection. For three days I was shaking with fear when driving and for 15 minutes. after the ride. It seemed to me that he was mad: I pressed a little and it was already 180. On the fourth day it became easier in terms of fear. The motorcycle handles well at low speeds and is especially good at speeds from 120 to 220. It is more conducive to fast driving.
In the city it allows you to clear traffic jams, even if someone is pressing. Very maneuverable. It goes just great on the highway, covering any distance. The wind protection reliably covers up to 180 km/h, above which you can lie down on the tank. I myself squeezed 250 km/h on it, but it’s already difficult to influence the process. Comfortable riding up to 200 km/h, of course, in full gear (leather overalls with protection, back protection, closed helmet, leggings, motorcycle boots).
The engine pulls two passengers up to 160 almost as one, after 160 a passenger is felt. Together I and a passenger (height 175, weight 80 kg. Passenger 185/95) were driving 200 km/h. And it was still possible, but the passenger was very afraid.
In general, I started riding it. No, not ride, but drive. I even want to take it slow, but it doesn’t work. It seems like I was driving 140, but I look - it’s already 200.
The engine picks up well up to 8000 rpm, and after 8000 you get a good kick in the ass. The engine is the same as on the P6, only the camshafts and firmware are different. It rises well from gas to 1 on the rear wheel.
I rode it on the Leader track in Podolsk. Not suitable for the track. At the second session I rubbed the driver's footpegs. Low located, direct landing fee. I never rubbed my knee.
I drove it for two seasons and sold it for even more than I bought it for. Nothing is broken.
I got into an accident this year (in May) with a BMW X6. The cops stopped me on Rublyovka (like checking my documents, they checked me and let me go). I start, continue to accelerate along the 2nd lane, from the leftmost x6 to the right (not a turn signal...), and I had already passed him (the front wheel and steering wheel were already in front of him. Apparently this saved me), he hits me with the front right corner on my left leg . I managed to go to the right and didn’t fall. He broke one of my left driver's footrests. The BMW fled the scene of the accident. Many thanks to all the bikers who stopped and helped me (riding without one leg support is almost impossible on such a motorcycle). The numbers were written down. The cops who stopped me arrived. Application, etc. A month later, the cops found these hooligans. In short, we agreed for the money.
There were a couple of times when the rear wheel came off at a speed of 160 on a wet road. Once, on a turn, I hit the markings after the rain, the second time I was driving in Riga in the rain and got into a rut with water, also after the rain I drove onto the road to the right and pressed too much (slipping and, as a result, skidding). All these piloting mistakes were forgiven by the motorcycle. We managed to stabilize and continue moving (although the motorists who were driving nearby, some to the side, some on the brakes).
The mileage was 15,000 - the tires were worn out. I installed the M3 metzeller. EKLMN. I was driving in the rain, a Camry in front of me slammed on the brakes, and I, to the extent of it, was preparing to overtake. I brake with the front end, the rear left the ground on the wet road. Stopped without any problems. Even in stoppie. In short, it is imperative to change stock tires to sports ones. It sticks right on. If I had listened to the athletes earlier, maybe the rear wheel wouldn’t have come off, I’m even sure.
The checkpoint worried me right away. Once you start gaining intensively, not always. I switch to high, and then neutral, up again, and then after one. In short, he doesn’t have time to turn it on. And if you do nothing, it will turn on anyway, with the clutch depressed or not. Once it was high, gas, neutral, I managed to let off the gas, and it stuck in with a crunch. If I catch neutral, I squeeze the clutch and wait, it turns on in maybe half a second, maybe less. It's all about the sector there. The Kulibins are doing something to him. I did not do it. If you switch slowly, then everything is ok.
I drove it around Moscow and the region. I didn’t go on long-distance trips. I went to Suzdal once, and on Friday at 18:00 I left Shchukino. Solid traffic jam. Basically, I got there without any problems. On the Moscow Ring Road on the left in the motor lane, along the Gorkovka road between the cars. 4 hours and Suzdal.
Overall, I was very pleased with this motorcycle. But life does not stand still. I wanted a liter one. Still, on a 600k you have to work the gearbox more intensively, but on a liter it’s easier in this regard. And the gears are longer. I took a liter Honda SBR 1000 RR Fireblade. I'll try next year.
