Yamaha YZ 125 is a lightweight cross-country motorcycle from the world famous company Yamaha. This dirt bike will give you unforgettable emotions and a lot of adrenaline.
This model is equipped with a 125 cc liquid-cooled engine. see, 6-speed manual transmission, front and rear disc brakes, as well as “evil” cross-country tires.
The main advantages of the YZ125 include: a responsive 2-stroke engine with a YPVS torque boosting system that can produce 33 hp, precise gearbox operation, a high-tech aluminum alloy chassis, reliable long-travel suspension, excellent disc brakes, comfortable seat design and low weight of about 90 kg.
The motorcycle is designed to win motocross competitions and championships, overcoming the toughest obstacles and tightest turns. Engineers and testers did a great job, thinking through the design of the bike literally down to the smallest detail.

What's interesting about this bike?
It is obvious that the Yamaha YZ125X is based on the YZ125 - both motorcycles have the same frame, tank, plastics, seat, swingarm, transmission, CPG, triple clamps, handlebars and other little things. The Model X has some differences that are designed to make the bike good for off-road racing.
Suspension
The Yamaha YZ125X features a KYB SSS Fork and KYB shock absorber , which are standard on all YZ models. Engineers have tweaked the internal valving settings to reduce damping in both the fork and shock, but the suspensions have the same spring rates as the YZ125 (4.1 N/mm front and 4.6 N/mm rear).
Engine
While the transmission and cylinder are unchanged, the Yamaha YZ125X gets an all-new cylinder head. The new head has a larger combustion chamber volume and a lower compression ratio. The YPVS (Yamaha Power Valve System) also has a stiffer spring and a different exhaust port shape, which delays the opening of the valve and slows the speed at which it opens. Ignition settings have also been changed across the entire rev range. The carburetor was retuned to match the new head and ignition settings.
Yamaha YZ125X off-road adaptation
The Yamaha YZ125X features an 18-inch rear wheel with a wider rim (2.12×18), Dunlop AT81 tires, a 50-tooth rear sprocket (instead of the 48-tooth chainring), an oil seal chain, an aluminum side stand and a fuel tap with reserve mode. .

Yamaha YZ125X In the forest
Yamaha YZ125X 2020
Engine
Of all the 125 motocross bikes I've ridden (TM, KTM, Husqvarna and Yamaha), the Yamaha YZ125X has the widest powerband and is the easiest to ride. However, it does not have the same amount of maximum horsepower as other classmates. When we first tried the 125X on a forest path, peak power was the last thing on my mind—we were faced with a slippery, muddy, narrow trail that required maximum control. And the character of the YZ125X engine was just right.
The power of the Yamaha YZ125X engine is even more spread out and linear than that of the YZ125 engine, and this allows you to ride in second gear where a regular 125 would not. Obviously, changes to the engine have shifted the torque peak down, which allows you to ride confidently in second gear. and avoid trees in S-turns and don't overuse the clutch.
I can't even say that I lacked mid-range power. The engine's character is definitely more four-stroke and linear, which makes the mid-range dip less obvious. That being said, you still need to shift a lot more often than 250F, and you need to be aware of what gear you're currently in.
Yamaha YZ125X suspension
It's probably the most comfortable suspension I've ever ridden, but it's a little too soft for me. This is not surprising, I am heavier (98 kilograms) than the rider the Yamaha YZ125X is aimed at. But with the sag adjusted for me, the bike felt well balanced. I could accurately predict how the front or rear wheel would behave when going over ruts, logs, roots, etc. The suspension is very soft, and still has pretty good resistance to hard impacts. It matches the power of the bike really well.
On the other hand, this is the only X model in the line that I don't think will be any fun on the dirt track due to the suspension setup.

Handling Yamaha YZ125X
The Yamaha YZ125X is so light and nimble that I had no problems on forest paths. This is a bike that handles like magic if you need to get through trees and roots. We spend a lot of time on four-stroke motorcycles and forget that two-strokes have much less mass of rotating parts and require much less rider effort to make the bike turn and change direction. Plus, picking up the bike (I've fallen a few times) isn't that hard.

Motorcycle Yamaha YBR 125
The Yamaha YBR 125 motorcycle is a modern legend in the field of motorcycle construction. Almost every novice motorcyclist wanted to ride this unit. Yes, its small cubic capacity allows it to remain a full-fledged motorcycle, although at first some people laughed at the brainchild of Japanese engineers. The designers at one time made a real splash by combining in their creation budget components and components of a full-fledged motorcycle, such as reliability and endurance. At the moment, the motorcycle is assembled in China at a Yamaha subsidiary, but this has not affected the quality at all. It still remains at the same Japanese level, thanks to which the YBR 125 is still the cheapest Japanese motorcycle in the entire segment on the market.
You could purchase this motorcycle in 2014, and for just 80 thousand rubles you would have a trouble-free workhorse at your disposal. Motorcyclists from the USSR, whose first motorcycles were Minsk or Voskhod, were extremely pleased with the Japanese automobile industry. The thing is that domestic hardware broke almost every day and did not have the dynamics inherent in a motorcycle. The simplicity of the YBR 125V, like a corn mackerel, does not allow it to break down every day, or rather, almost never. The diamond-shaped steel frame hides inside a two-valve, single-cylinder 125 cc air-cooled engine.
The engine here is carburetor, and the drive is chain and the internal combustion engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. There is nothing noticeable about the design of the YBR 125V; it belongs more to the classic segment than to the modern one. The Japanese car's maximum speed is 110 km/h, and it accelerates to it extremely quickly. You shouldn't expect any racing records here, but the bike will certainly surprise you! Among the entire segment of budget small-capacity motorcycles, the leading positions are occupied by the Yamaha YZF-R125 and Yamaha WR 125, which have the best characteristics, but their cost is significantly higher than the simpleton YBR 125.
Yamaha YBR 125
This motorcycle is a true workhorse of the budget segment, capable of taking the owner from the starting point to the destination point. It makes a great starting point for would-be motorcyclists looking for thrills and adrenaline. Some even manage to travel on this motorcycle, although there is nothing surprising here. The cruising range of this motorcycle is more than 400 kilometers without refueling, and no breakdowns occur while riding, although similar equipment from domestic or other manufacturers is not without breakdowns. This is a phenomenally hardy horse that can last for years without a super dose of attention. Yes, it requires some care, but it is not as capricious as domestic equipment and the most expensive foreign-made motorcycles.
Naturally, some motorcyclists eventually experience a lack of capabilities of this motorcycle, after which they decide to switch to another model. The YBR 125 is rightfully the most popular motorcycle for beginners, confidently competing with the Honda CB 400. Naturally, when purchasing this equipment, you should not expect incredible achievements from it, such that it will compete with the power of a Ducati. If you are focused on purchasing reliable, inexpensive and trouble-free equipment for everyday use, then Yamaha is what you need. Its small dimensions make it possible not to consume excessively much fuel and not hit the owner’s wallet. The motor will successfully break through any traffic jam and deliver the owner to his destination.

Pros of Yamaha YZ125X
The wider rear tire (110/90-18) definitely helps in both deep sandy sections and slippery red clay. Starting any 125 isn't difficult, but with less compression, the Yamaha YZ125X is very easy to start, which helps if you stall in a tight spot. Finally, even though the exhaust system is the same as the YZ, the X feels quieter. In the forest, we could barely hear the other Yamaha YZ125X riding around, and a motorcycle with a four-stroke engine could be heard a kilometer away.
Cons of Yamaha YZ125X
It's hard to have anything negative to say about this bike, but we do have a few criticisms. The first is that there is no electric starter. This sounds a little hypocritical - I just said how easy and convenient it is to start a motorcycle. Adding a push button starter will add weight to the bike, but it's a very handy feature. Secondly, the X has no protection - it would be nice to install engine protection. And thirdly, I would like the Yamaha YZ125X, as an "X" (not WR) model, to be more sporty. Compared to the YZ250FX, YZ450FX and YZ250X, the Yamaha YZ125X has much softer suspension settings.
