Last year I had one from a friend, bought it second hand))) before that, it seemed like I had been riding for a year and had been sitting in the garage for a couple of years, it was something like this: Moped: 1. The chain falls off (tightened) 2. It won’t start 3. It’s all rusty 4. The steering wheel dangling (pulled up) 5. Remote controls dangling 6. Tank dangling 7. Engine dangling 8. Turn signals are broken (rear ones are broken) 9. Headlight does not light 10. Low/high beam relay is faulty 11. Ignition has fallen out 12. Speedometer is lying 13. Axles are crooked 14 The frame is crooked 15. The oil is leaking, the gaskets are rotten 16. The tank lock has fallen out 17. There is too much gasoline, why is not yet clear 18. The left strip with a number is glued to the frame 19. The wheel + fork needs to be replaced (after a fall) 20 The air filter needs to be replaced (it contains gasoline) 21. The clutch cable is broken (a cable from a bike was installed) 22. The gear shift pedal is connected directly without a rod under the heel 23. The gearbox works incomprehensibly at all 24. The gear shift pedal still fell off (a new one was installed the same) 25. The front and rear brakes don’t slow down 26. The whole thing creaks 27. The battery is completely dead 28. The muffler fell off, now it’s on one bolt 29. The fork lock, of course, doesn’t work 30. The left mirror is broken off (after a fall) 31. More likely All you need to do is change the oil scraper ring in the cylinder (oil leaks from the exhaust manifold) 32. The cylinder head gasket needs to be replaced 32. The muffler is attached to the cylinder using one bolt (the second bolt remains in the thread) 33. The right shock absorber needs to be replaced.
after two weeks of using this miracle, he finally died

Operation and Maintenance
With regular and proper maintenance, the Raptor moped can serve without any major malfunctions, despite its Chinese origin. One of the most important service procedures, oil change, occurs in several stages:
- Unscrew the plug located on the right side of the engine.
- Drain the old fluid. To do this, unscrew the nut from the bottom of the motor (use an 18 wrench). Do not forget to place a container under the power unit for testing.
- After draining the oil, rock the scooter from side to side to completely remove the excess.
- After completely freeing the engine from waste fluid, tighten the nut back.
- Pour new oil into the hole from which the cap was screwed off. For convenience, you can use a funnel. The usual volume of oil is 600 ... 700 ml. You can pour synthetic or semi-synthetic.
- After filling the internal space, tighten the neck.
Repairing a moped can be done at home. The most common breakdowns are:
- The neutral switches on poorly - the gears need to be replaced.
- The engine makes a noise when riding - you need to look at the moped's passport and replace the connecting rods.
- The alarm and electric starter only work when the engine is running - replace the fuse on the pink wire behind the battery.
- The traction has disappeared - you need to study the device of the variator and see if everything is in order with it.

Price and where to buy
The Raptor DD50E has been produced for a very long time until today, so in Russia and Ukraine it is possible to buy both new and used. The manufacturer has an official website where they sell scooters with a 110 cc engine. The official dealer delivers equipment in Moscow, St. Petersburg and carries out transportation throughout the Russian Federation, regardless of the city, be it Kineshma or others. Transport companies are involved. The average price of a used Raptor DD50E on Avito is about 30 thousand rubles, a new one costs from 45.
On the territory of Ukraine, the cost of a used motorcycle ranges from 10 to 25 thousand hryvnia.
Reviews
Reviews for this unit are generally positive. People are especially surprised and pleased by the shape of the moped and its similarity to a classic chopper. In addition, quite tall people can ride such a moped - up to 190 cm. In stores, it is this shape that attracts customers.
Ruslan, Nizhny Novgorod:
“In terms of processing the purchase and management, there are no problems at all. According to the documents, the Regal Raptor moped does not exceed 50 cm3, which means it requires an “M” category license, and a minimal tax is charged upon purchase. The small engine volume allows you to significantly save on gasoline and oil. The main thing is to fill in high-quality gasoline, although for some reason my engine gets very hot at 95 and 98, and at 80 the traction disappears. The best option is AI-92.”
Maxim, Novokuznetsk:
“I use Raptor, before that I used Iron Eagle. On the negative side: 4 gears for a moped is a lot, the maximum speed is 60 km/h. The speeds turn out to be short - at 20 km/h you need to turn on second, at 35 km/h - third and at 40 km/h - fourth. An objectively negative feature of the moped is its weak battery. As soon as it sits for a day without moving, the battery drains so much that it no longer starts either from the key fob or from the starter button. But here the starter pedal comes to the rescue.”
Bonus for "cubes"
BONUS FOR “CUBES”
ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF CARELESSNESS.
It just so happens that today we have new branded (read - sophisticated and expensive) motorcycles starting with a cubic capacity of 600. Yes, they “bullet” (if they are “sports”) or amaze with the number of centners of weight and square meters of chrome and leather (custom and cruisers). But not everyone and not always needs this. According to the Traffic Rules, the speed on the roads is limited to 90 km/h; to put it mildly, we don’t have a lot of autobahns, and if you go on them, they greet frisky motorcyclists with endless repair areas and asphalt sprinkled with treacherous sand. All other things being equal, a motorcycle with a cubic capacity of “half a liter” “eats” (and not only gasoline, but also brake pads, chains and rubber) at least one and a half times more than a check.
Another argument in favor of “halflings” will be appreciated by those who live in big cities. A few hours of “fidgeting” in traffic jams on a heavy vehicle with an oversized body kit, even if it’s three times cool and fashionable, makes you think about the need to buy a second motorcycle for quite everyday purposes - moving around the streets.
Suppose you let yourself be persuaded - you set out to take a light device up to 400 “cubes”. And here you will be disappointed: there are almost no “firms” in this sector of the market - entirely China, or at best South Korea. Why are 250–400 cm3 equipment mostly “yellow”? Let me make a guess: “white” brands gave up their previously occupied positions under the pressure of cheaper equipment from China and Korea, with its quite acceptable and rapidly growing quality, and they themselves switched to fashionable “high-tech” in large cubic capacity. The losses are small, at least for now: the leaders of the global motorcycle industry make money from Chinese manufacturers by selling them licenses, equipment or placing orders for components. In a word, for those who are not into showing off and just want to ride without overpaying for extra “cubes” in the engine, motorcycles with a cubic capacity of 250–400 cc, and not only “eastern” ones, are a godsend.
JAWA IS FOREVER!
There are a lot of Chinese motorcycles with a capacity above 200 cc being imported, but you won’t find any “classics” among them - they’re all enduros and chopperoids. Those who have fallen for the “classics” will have to turn their eyes to the good old Czech Jawa. There is no need to introduce this brand to the older generation: over two million cars were sold in the USSR.
The updated Jawa 350 Style, which is now on sale - not the same as it was in Soviet times - is equipped with a well-known 2-stroke, 2-cylinder air blower, the roots of which can be traced back to 1948. Power remained the same at 23 hp, as did the valve timing without a reed valve on the intake. Transmission - 4-speed. The chain is placed in a sealed casing. Unlike the Yavs that arrived in the USSR, the modern model is equipped with a separate lubrication system, a front disc, sports-style mufflers, and, upon request, an electric starter. The maximum speed, as before, is 125 km/h. Luggage cases are available upon request.
A new product in the 2008 production program, the Jawa 250 Travel, appeared as a result of “crossing”: a Honda CB250 type engine (Chinese licensed copy) was installed in the chassis of the Jawa 125 Travel light motorcycle. The 2-cylinder in-line 4-stroke air-cooled engine is equipped with an electric starter.
SPORTBIKE TYPE.
The South Korean sports bike Hyosung GT250R has an injection 8-valve DOHC V-twin in combination with a lightweight and durable Twin-spar frame that provides quite decent dynamics. The front suspension is with an adjustable inverted fork and supporting pipes with a diameter of 41 mm. Two front brake discs with a diameter of 300 mm provide powerful braking. The motorcycle is popular in Ukraine, but in our motorcycle showrooms it is rarely sold yet. But it’s quite easy to buy a real Japanese “sportbike” Kawasaki Ninja 250R. This device with a well-promoted military name has been in the company’s fleet since 2008. It took a lot from its predecessor, the veteran ZZ-R250 (produced since 1990!). First of all, in-line “two” liquid cooling. The front telescopic fork is of the usual type, non-adjustable, with support pipes with a diameter of 37 mm. The rear suspension is a Uni-Trak system with a gas-filled monoshock absorber and adjustable spring preload. The cast wheels are equipped with petal-type disc brakes (single disc at the front).
Another premiere on our market is the Zongshen ZS250GS with sportbike pretensions. Two discs on the front wheel are striking, and there is also a “disc” at the rear. Large (by Chinese standards) single-cylinder “air blower” with a power of about 20 hp. accelerates the vehicle equipped with a semi-fairing to 110 km/h. The high-speed wall, of course, is not so hot, but what a price!
MIXING OF SPECIES.
The most unusual product of the Chinese motorcycle industry for the second year remains the model of the most advanced company in the Celestial Empire, CF Moto (in our country it bears the Kaliningrad brand). The BM V-3 synthesizes the styles of scooter, chopper, enduro and sportbike; it is difficult to go unnoticed while driving such a motorcycle. Its highlight is the automatic (variable) transmission. A fairly decent technical level is emphasized by disc brakes on both wheels, a 250 cc liquid-cooled engine, and a catalyst in the muffler. The package includes an alarm system, radio and tape recorder. “Maximum speed” - 100 km/h. On the V-3 platform, with the same engine and transmission and the appearance of a regular chopper, the BM V-5 model is made. The brake levers here are located like on a scooter - on the steering wheel.
V-TWINS MATERY.
V2 engines, exotic for China five years ago, are now installed in their motorcycle models by every self-respecting company. With a cubic capacity of a quarter liter and a power of 15–18 hp, air-cooled and without any special technical bells and whistles, they are included in the Keeway Landcruiser 250, Keeway Supershadow 250, Lifan LF250, Reggy Cowboy, Vento V-Thunder. In technical terms, these chopperoids are strangely similar, although there is no denying that they all correspond to the canons of the style (except, perhaps, for the dry mass, which is surprisingly small: about 140 kg). The differences are in the rear wheel brakes (most have drum brakes), tire size options and wheel types (cast or spoked). The “tidy” on the tank and the standard windshield on the Vento and Keeway give them some originality, while the “Cowboy” is equipped with side leather panniers. All motorcycles in this group have a rear wheel drive with a chain, the maximum speed is slightly above a hundred.
However, the “Chinese” are not resting on their laurels - they are moving forward. And now the pioneer in the field of Chinese hydro-twin construction, the Lifan company, has leapfrogged everyone: starting this year, the 400-cc Lifan LF400 model has gone on sale. In appearance, the device resembles the popular Yamaha Virago from about (don’t fall) twenty years ago. But “witches” or “vixens” (as the name is translated), as is known, do not age quickly and do not die for a long time. The motorcycle, in addition to a grandiose engine for the Chinese motorcycle industry, also has an unusual, powerful backbone-type frame. The transmission is more traditional: a 5-speed gearbox, and the wheel drive, like the Viraga, is driven by a cardan shaft. The rear suspension has two shock absorbers adjustable for spring preload, brakes are disc at the front and drum at the rear. The power of the V-twin is already decent - 30 hp. It is enough to travel with a passenger at a speed of 120 km/h.
IRON DINOSAURS.
Motorcycles from Li Feng Group Co., Ltd. have been sold on the Russian market for the third year under the Regal-Raptor and Iron Eagle brands. These stylish choppers are known in America and Great Britain, which already speaks of their quality. The devices have all the attributes of style, except perhaps the classic V-twin with its characteristic exhaust sound. However, the company does not seem to have any complexes about this - its products take on something else: real “hardware”, of which there is a lot and it shines (this is not at all like chrome on top of plastic, like others). Therefore, “Royal Predators” are heavier than 150 kg, and this is their “zest”. New this season is the “full-size” chopper Regal-Raptor DD300E, it’s even longer than some Harleys. Its 2-cylinder in-line engine with a capacity of 273 cm3 is equipped with liquid cooling, and the pump cover and radiator are chrome-plated, they are not discordant with the chopper style. The device is distinguished by its extreme fork angle, “correct” wheel sizes (21/16 inches) and a unique dual-disc front brake for this class (the rear is also disc). The motorcycle is capable of taking two riders weighing up to 183 kg into the saddle and at the same time traveling on the highway at a speed of 115 km/h. The Regal-Raptor DD250E-9 is slightly inferior to it in all respects: its 18/15-inch wheels are equipped with disc-drum brakes, and the “maximum speed” is 110 km/h. On the Regal-Raptor DD250E-5 model, the engine is air-oil cooled, and two mufflers are located one above the other, also a classic solution on motorcycles of this style.
NOT ALL IS HARLEY THAT SHINES.
Large, by Chinese standards, chrome-plated chopperoid Guowei GW250 from a division of the Jianshe corporation is equipped with an in-line “double” of air cooling. The device is not at all simple: it is equipped with platforms for the driver and passenger’s feet, additional headlights and a fuel gauge located on the gas tank. Standard equipment includes a tachometer, a voltmeter, a large trunk, and a backrest for the passenger. An additional option is a wind deflector. And at the same time it is one of the cheapest in its class.
“Greetings” from the large Chinese corporation Qianjiang Group (remember: it bought the Italian Benelli) are conveyed by Russian partners -. Their Stels Zed 250 is decorated with a glossy black color combined with an abundance of chrome; the “step” saddle is crowned with a backrest for the passenger. The 2-cylinder engine is equipped with air-oil cooling, and the 18/15-inch wheels have disc-drum brakes. Of course, this is far from a Harley, but the price will reconcile many with this.
