Customizing - (from the English custom - custom), in the broadest sense of the word, is the remaking of a finished item, in our case a motorcycle, to the individual taste of the client.
As a result, a faceless mass-produced factory machine turns into a unique device, sometimes a real work of art. The main task of a customizer is to “kill on the spot” with his creation. At the same time, it often becomes difficult to use a motorcycle for its intended purpose (that is, for riding), and sometimes even impossible. Often, a “custom” should be perceived as a work of art that is carefully stored and transported from exhibition to exhibition. The first stage of customization is when the factory bike is decorated with airbrushing and stickers, and body kit elements are replaced with those purchased at showrooms. Such decoration is usually done independently. Real customization, with the manufacture of the frame, chassis and even modernization of the engine and suspensions, is carried out by professionals in custom workshops. They often make only one or two units a year, at a cost that is 5 to 10 times the face value of the original bike. In its meaning, motorcycle tuning is close to customizing, where the main focus is on increasing engine power and improving the ride quality of the device. The sixth international exhibition of equipment for active recreation “Motospring-2018” will be held from March 16 to 18 at the Olimpiysky Sports Complex.
The most awaited time of the year is approaching, and with it the MotoSpring 2018 exhibition, the annual celebration of the opening of the motorcycle season. In 2021, the organizers made Motovesna closer to Muscovites and guests of the city. It will take place at the most representative venue in the history of Moscow motorcycle exhibitions – the Olimpiysky Sports Complex.
The Olimpiyskiy Sports Complex, the venue for significant sporting and musical events in the country, best suits the plans of the Motovesna organizers. The arena and foyer of the largest indoor stadium in Europe allow you to deploy stands of any size with extensive model lines of motorcycles, ATVs, scooters, snowmobiles and other motor vehicles, creating a comfortable environment for participants and visitors to the event.
“Olympic” will be divided into several thematic parts. The brand zone will be occupied by industry giants, leading manufacturers of equipment, equipment, spare parts and tuning with the latest innovations, which are especially relevant before the start of the season. Traditionally, importers of BMW, Yamaha, KTM, Ducati, Kawasaki and other market leaders participate in MotoSpring.
The business zone is intended for small companies. The art section includes artists, jewelers, and independent design studios showing accessories, leather goods, clothing, and shoes. The club part brings together travelers, motorcycle associations and other public structures. The Moscow Department of Transport, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, and sports federations will talk about their social programs.
The huge venue, designed for concerts and competitions, houses more than just stands. A sports zone will be organized right in the premises, where the Motul Extreme Show will take place with the participation of the Russian and world elite of stunt riding, freestyle and other disciplines. The height of the room allows you to perform jumping tricks on a high ramp, while athletes and spectators are protected from rain, wind and cold. Some demonstration performances will take place outside.
The traditional core of “Motospring” is the XII Moscow International Custom&Tuning Show. This is the most significant event in the world of motorcycle design and innovation in the post-Soviet space. It showcases the best custom motorcycles from Russia and neighboring countries. The winners in various categories receive awards, and the best motorcycle gets a ticket to the finals of the World Customization Championship, which takes place in Cologne at the Intermot exhibition.
SK "Olympiyskiy" is an ideal transport accessibility. It is located within walking distance from the Prospekt Mira metro station, close to the Garden and Third Transport Rings, there is a large paid parking lot on site, and many parking spaces are located in the surrounding area.

MotoSpring Exhibition 2021: review and results! (photo+video)
TERRITORY OF OPTIMISM: MOTOR SPRING 2018
The rooks have not yet arrived, the thermometer shows an invigorating -16 degrees, and the main motorcycle event of the year has already passed. Why so early? The new site made its own adjustments - instead of the already traditional site in Sokolniki, the organizers chose a new, much cooler place - the Olympic sports complex. It was because of his busy schedule that the date had to be moved from the first weekend of April to mid-March.
However, the early dates did not in any way affect the interest of the public, there were plenty of people, nor the activity of the exhibition participants, there were also a surprisingly large number of them. They beat us, but we grow stronger - instead of whining about the fall of the motorcycle market and sluggish sales at the exhibition, there are a dozen stands of major world manufacturers, bright Russian premieres and countless pavilions with sellers of motorcycle-related electronics, rubber, consumables and other little things necessary in a two-wheeled economy.
The huge site, in addition to the exhibition, made it possible not only to build a stage for stunt riders and famous stuntmen, but also to fill a swimming pool for the performance of jet skis. An excellent idea that will forever be remembered by both spectators and organizers for the breakthrough of this very pool and the promptly eliminated flood. Did you want a real show? Receive it and sign it!
By the way, there was a lot to cover: the Bavarians, in addition to the already well-known models, brought the new F850GS and F750GS; at the KTM stand there were devices already available on our market in new, original tuning, and they pleased us with new products from Harley-Davidson and Indian. But the Japanese, on the contrary, looked modest - of the big four, Yamaha came to the exhibition, showing only its new snowmobile and small R3 in new colors, and Kawasaki, with new liter roadsters and a compact 300 cc crossover Versys, standing directly opposite the BMW G310GS . Coincidence? Don't think.
The IMZ stand showed the latest updates to Irbit motorcycles, as well as a scattering of experimental boxers from the past; the Degtyarev Plant emerged from a long hibernation, presenting an abundance of Chinese and not so Chinese motorcycles assembled under the ZiD brand. There weren’t many “terry Chinese” ones, instead you could find “good Taiwanese” ones like SYM, BSE, Kayo and other affordable motorcycles that you wouldn’t be ashamed to ride.
There is also not a lot of electrical equipment; we will leave games of progress for richer times, as well as history: all the classics of the exhibition were reduced to the pre-revolutionary Dux motorcycle and a pair of pre-war Harleys. The custom zone, where there really was something to see, had to take the rap for all the unconventional and unusual ones. How much did a masterpiece from the Box39 workshop cost, made in the style... In a style that the guys themselves will come up with a name if they want - no one has rolled out anything like this in Russia yet - a motorcycle without a single key, without a single button, clean lines and a crazy look, which, Moreover, it hid very real functionality.
We can whenever we want! Our stand was also at the exhibition, where anyone could get acquainted with one of the main new products of this year – Husqvarna Vitpilen. Of course, one of the most beautiful motorcycles of our time gathered a huge number of interested people, significantly ahead of its distant relative Bajaj Dominar 400, shown at the “motor spring” in a new, black color.
The exhibition was a great success, for which I would like to especially thank both the organizers and participants, because it is thanks to them that today motorcyclists do not feel lonely and know exactly where they can easily meet both old and new friends. In any case, the level and scale are record-breaking. Let's see if the organizers can maintain the same high level in the future.
PS Soon we will upload a gallery with a huge number of photos, stay tuned!
