Cylinder
To increase the volume of the cylinder, cut off its upper part and bore the liner to 76 mm. After pumping the engine, the Planet can accelerate to 160 km/h.
The factory clutch of the IZH Planet-5 copes well with normal loads. If you drive a lot and drive aggressively, you should think about replacing the clutch. Under increased load, the disks quickly fail, so it is worth replacing one of them with a thicker metal one. This will lead to a stronger compression of the springs, in which there will be no slipping and the clutch will be more difficult to squeeze.

When your motorcycle has clip-ons, even if you broke one part when you fell, you still have hope of finding an alternative and noticing only one side, and not the entire structure.
A real-life incident when two of my friends got into a serious accident. We were traveling as a group, the road was bad, they skidded and were thrown out of the turn. The motorcycle flew sideways into the hole and left half of the clip-on with the cable and throttle trigger there. The humor lies in the fact that the accident occurred far from the city; calling a tow truck meant waiting 7-8 hours. The motorcycle survived, as did the guys. They, without hesitation, decided to go for help themselves. The driver steered with the remains of the clip-on and the left half, and the passenger squeezed the trigger, since the cable did not break and the motorcycle still responded to commands. In factory models, special technological holes are made on the clip-on pipes on the gas side. By definition, such a design reduces the “survivability” of the assembly, therefore, some mechanics cut off the protrusions, and in case of urgent need they can be made independently. It is important to understand that the grip width in the trimmed version of the clip-on is quite enough for a confident and complete ride, but the strength of the pipe will be much greater than the previous one.

- Installing another carburetor. If possible, it's worth shelling out for a good Mikuni carburetor. Don't go for a large diffuser size. The standard diameter of 32 mm will be quite sufficient. But it’s definitely worth removing the protrusions on the intake and exhaust manifolds and polishing the internal channels of these parts.
