    Review: Honda cb400sf review

Hello review reader. Through the company cemeco.ru in May 2021, I purchased a Honda cb 400 revo 2011. I had been dreaming about this motorcycle for as long as a year since 2007. But, as usually happens, one thing did not grow together, then another. At the beginning of 2021, my patience came to an end... I completely spontaneously typed into a search engine “Honda from Japan auction” and the website cemeco.ru came up, after looking at the prices of the sold lots I realized that I was finally getting around to buying... and then it started spinning, spinning, updating the auction sheets ten once a day, aching in the causal area and sleepless nights. It’s so good that I ended up with an adequate person who rejects my impulses to buy this motorcycle, or this one, or maybe we’ll even bet on this one, reasonable, calm as a tank - Valera. His eye is thoroughly and professionally trained, I already morally agreed with myself on today’s lot, I’ll supposedly fix some bug later, but Valera came and laid out why I shouldn’t take it. Sometimes we stayed up until 1:00, 2:00 at night... okay, I was tired... but such customer focus amazed me.

For a very long time there was no suitable motorcycle... so that I wouldn’t despair at all. Valery offered me different options for Ducati, but I was adamant, that’s the word, which sometimes, it seems to me, caused Valera’s bewilderment.

As a result, he dug up at some other auction a 2011 Seabiga with a mileage of 3500 km, three and a half thousand kilometers Karl, kaaaak? It happened spontaneously and, fortunately, unexpectedly. Morning, work on a business trip is in full swing, the annoying vibration of the phone in my pocket, I unlock the phone, and there... a message on WhatsApp with a photo of the auction sheet and the signature “Kuuuplen!))).” Uuuuuu, well, you understand that someone forgot about further work!!! Lots of photos and questions about what, where, and how. I’m writing this review and I’m happy that I felt these emotions again when my dream came true.

The checkpoints when it was necessary to pay for the motorcycle fell at the moment when I was in some ****** (remote places where stable communication is only available at gas stations), while driving, but I had to pay, but I promised. In short, Valera took my position here too and delayed payment, for which I thank him very much.

The mot arrived in perfect condition, was packaged as neatly as possible, the postal employees allowed me to open it directly with them.

I can’t call it a minus, but there was some sediment (everything written in this paragraph is nonsense compared to the excellent condition of the motorcycle, but I couldn’t help but write it) -The Japanese didn’t want to part with the motorcycle so much that they drove it around Japan under their own power, Valera stuck (not to be confused with VTEC) and organized it for them. -There was a small dent under the sticker on the tank, which caused the sticker to crumble. -Then I realized how the motorcycle turned out to be from 2011 with a mileage of 3500 km: the fork boots and tires were cracked, the rear tire, it seems, turned into dust a couple of years ago and was replaced in Japan because... I rolled up the wear strip of the tire with my own efforts and it turned out to be not oak. -When registering with the traffic police, they received a fine, and the fact that the motorcycle was rolling in a carriage for 2 weeks crossing the entire country did not bother them. -The marker from the headlight was not wiped off with anything, and it was bright pink!! An evil 646 solvent was used, which helped.

And, follow (and listen), guys, what your manager tells you. I was told several times to take gasoline and tools with me. But no, I was flying like a locomotive to this post office, I took so many tools that I could open the bank, but I didn’t take gasoline... in the end I went through the quest to find gasoline with bulging eyes.

In general, the purchase of the motorcycle was comfortable, all the conditions were met, the paperwork went according to plan, photo reports were sent regularly, no complaints, well done guys! As promised, the mot arrived in 60 days.

I am happy as a March cat, covered in sour cream and lying in the warm sun.

Many thanks to the entire Cemeco team for all their hard work, honesty and openness, and a special bow to Valera and many, many words of gratitude, recovery and return to duty!

    Bye everyone!

Honda CB400SS is my first motorcycle. The fact is that I have always been attracted to retro-style motorcycles, and when the time came to buy my first bike, I went to the Internet to look for just such a motorcycle. The criteria were as follows: it should be inexpensive, it should be retro, and it should be beautiful. Well, not too powerful, preferably, since I had no illusions about my control “skills.” Due to too high power, the option with the beautiful Honda CB1100 was dropped, due to the high price - the option with the Kawasai W650, and also confused by the reviews about its brakes being too bad for its engine. Then I switched to simpler models, and came across the Yamaha SR400 and Honda CB400SS. It just so happened that the last one was being sold nearby. I went to look at it, assessed it purely visually and immediately agreed to purchase it.

Now I understand that my motorcycle is a light baby with a simple engine, obedient and flexible. Then, during the first trip, it seemed to me swift and powerful, and it was scary to tilt it in place - its 140 kilograms seemed so weighty to me out of fear. But the motorcycle immediately delighted me - all iron, no plastic, a lot of shiny chrome, a real kickstarter, and the very appearance a la “originally from the 60s” warmed my soul. Overall, I was completely delighted with the purchase. And this feeling, after a couple of years of riding this motorcycle, has not faded - every time I feel pleasure when I roll my two-wheeled beauty out of the garage. Judging objectively, the Honda CB 400 SS is a small and light motorcycle. The weight, as I already wrote, is about 140 kg, the maximum speed is about 130 km/h, the dimensions are very compact, from a technical point of view, the technology is from the century before last, it’s just that all this is implemented very well. There have never been any problems, none at all, I just had to get used to one feature of the carburetor, which receives gasoline by gravity, without a fuel pump - after a long period of inactivity, you need to drain the gasoline from the float chamber, otherwise it will run out. This whole procedure takes about thirty seconds.

This motorcycle steers with the power of thought, you can “embroider” between cars on it like you never dreamed of on heavy sports bikes. The speed picks up briskly, from 0 to 100 km/h in about six seconds, but then it immediately fades away. The engine loves revs, it “undermines” best at 5-6 thousand rpm. The gearbox shifts perfectly; if you want, you can bend over and switch the gearbox foot with your little finger on your hand. Probably, such excellent handling is the main advantage of the CB400SS. After the awesome appearance, of course.

I had to get used to the brakes. There is one disk in front, a drum in the back, which is almost useless, it gets blocked very easily. Let's just say that the braking intensity could be better, but the engine brakes the motorcycle well. I can say from the suspension that it is very stiff, you can feel every pebble and every bump. This is not critical for a city motorcycle, but I still won’t go far on the CB400SS - that’s not what this bike was made for. It is light, on a country road it shakes and wobbles with the wind from all the cars flying past, and the landing and seat are not conducive to long trips.

You can ride a motorcycle together - I checked, but only if it’s close and not for long. With my height of 175 cm, I sit, actually moving back to the passenger side of the flat seat, otherwise my legs are cramped and there is nowhere to put my hands. In principle, taking a passenger somewhere is not a problem, you just need to take into account that it will be inconvenient, and the motorcycle will try to behave inappropriately at low speeds and will brake worse. Well, the dynamics will suffer, of course, although not critically.

In my opinion, for lovers of retro motorcycles, the Honda CB400SS is simply a great option, since in excellent condition you can buy it for one hundred and fifty thousand, and it’s worth the money. A simple, reliable and beautiful motorcycle. I don’t plan to part with it until I can buy myself a new Honda CB1100 or a new Ducati Scrambler.
