Motorcycle VR200X (2008): technical specifications, photos, videos

  • Brand – X-moto

In fact, you can find a similar motorcycle under other brands, but with some modifications, for example on enduro wheels.

  • Model - ZR 250

In fact, there is only one in the line and it is difficult to confuse it with something.

  • Engine type - 4-stroke without balancing shaft and water cooling

There is no point in writing about 4 strokes, since no person in their right mind who buys a motorcycle for calm surfing in city traffic would bother with a 2t motorcycle. But the lack of a balance shaft makes this motorcycle somewhat unpleasant at first.

Without a balancer, the engine vibrates very strongly and, of course, transmits its vibrations to the frame and the driver as well. But it can be treated! Unscrew the top engine mounting bolt completely (by the way, on later models this fastening is no longer present), and you can also try to slightly unwind the engine in its mounts, give it a good gas, and then tighten it. A sort of shrinkage procedure. It is worth noting that all engine mounts are through bearings, so such shrinkage should have an effect.

Dropsy on such a motorcycle? Just show off, otherwise you will never overheat it in urban conditions. What else do you need a motard for? But everyone complains about the current radiators. After several seasons of use without dropping the bike, none of them leaked. So learn to drive or buy more expensive equipment.

  • Number of valves per cylinder - 2

You can’t find a 4-valve head for this engine, so if you just look for a local “Kulibin” and do it all yourself.

  • Engine capacity, cm³ — 249

If you are afraid to change from a similar 200 cc engine to a 250 cc engine, then don’t even think about being afraid. He is quiet and calm.

  • Transmission - 5-speed gearbox with mechanical clutch
  • Power, hp
    17

For city driving “without showing off” this indicator is enough. Change the drive sprocket to 15 teeth and you will be happy even with this horsepower rating.

  • Maximum speed, km/h
    105

It’s no wonder that with such “horses” you won’t accelerate it any faster. If only from a hill)

  • Fuel consumption, l/100 km.
    3.8

The driving experience is as if it doesn't consume gasoline at all. I use an AI-92 and a full tank of 8 liters is enough for a week of daily driving.

  • Weight, kg.
    137

Heavy for its class. It will be impossible to move it alone if you are a wimp.

  • Maximum load, kg.
    150

According to the documents, the scooter is a single-seater, so obviously a guy of that weight won’t be able to sit on it. And if you install the steps according to our instructions, then it can easily carry 2 adults.

  • Brake type:
    disc

Only Alpha and Delta now make drums. Even the cheapest pit bike comes with disc wheels. By the way, the front caliper is two-piston, and the rear caliper is single-piston - a classic.

  • Tire size
    110/70-17; 130/70-17

The tires are moderately lousy and you can skate on them normally for the first season. The grip is normal even in the rain on asphalt. On soft ground there is no problem at all, it’s very difficult to ride.

  • Starting the engine
    electric/kick starter

The electric starter works like a clock. Very convenient in an urban environment.

  • Box dimensions (LxWxH), mm
    1845x450x915

Calculate delivery based on these dimensions.

Additional options

  • hand protection - it is not included in the kit, buy it on Alischka and you will be happy;
  • the rear-view mirrors are normal mirrors that do not shake even from the enormous vibration of this engine;
  • LED turn signals - the first turn signal flooded when I was washing the motorcycle. Check your contacts immediately;
  • The headlight is a standard light with a conventional incandescent lamp. Install H4 halogen and don’t worry;
  • the rear light is also LED;
  • speedometer - electronic, with advanced capabilities;
  • aluminum rims - well, it’s very difficult to say what kind of metal will come to you in the box;
  • The engine protection is ordinary plastic, just for show.

When purchasing this motorcycle from ABM, you will be given a special book, which should contain the technical characteristics of this motorcycle. But there are many inconsistencies in it, so you should trust our table.

Let me start by saying that the ZR200 is my first motorcycle.

Before it there were scooters and the Zodiak moped - one of the varieties of the mega-popular Alpha. On the Zodiac in August 2015, I had a significant accident, or rather, I was hit by a drunk idiot in a basin, who by that time had already been deprived of his license for drunk driving. The accident cost me several fractures and stitches; the Zodiac, to my amazement, escaped with several minor damage, the main one of which was a crushed fuel tank. I didn’t buy the original tank for restoration, but rather used an old Soviet tank from a Karpaty-sport moped. After the renovation it looked like this.

after which it was successfully sold. Then the insurance company responsible for the accident paid me compensation for my fractures and in the fall of 2015 I became the proud owner of a Chinese enduro or motard ABM ZR200 produced in 2014 and with a mileage of 2500 km.

I spent the winter agonizingly waiting for the start of the season, and at the same time I decided to get a driver’s license, which, in addition to the categories I already had, would have category “A”. I signed up for a driving school, where the teacher immediately said that those who already have a theory license don’t have to go, but it wouldn’t hurt to go to the race track with an instructor. So in the summer of 2016 I became a full-fledged motorcyclist. Zephyr, as I lovingly called my motorcycle, I really liked it as a city motorcycle. Lightweight, high seating position - you can see everything in front over the roofs of cars, a short final drive allows you to start sharply from a traffic light, kicking up the arrogant boys in Priors, not particularly attractive to car thieves, the plastic is strong and elastic - survived several falls without problems, very economical and high-torque at the bottom 164FML engine, high ground clearance and energy-intensive suspensions allow you to easily jump along curbs, tram rails and huge potholes that are so often found on our asphalt and what is especially valuable to me is that it allows you to move off the asphalt without any problems and rush along forest and field paths during forays on weekends. What I didn’t like: The ugly (to my taste) stock headlight, which shines disgustingly and the short main gear, which works well on rough terrain when driving on the highway, forces the engine to turn to maximum speed, despite the fact that the speed is low - about 90 km/h. The motorcycle rides quite calmly up any reasonable climb in 5th gear without straining at all; there is clearly excess traction to the detriment of comfort, efficiency and speed. I solved the problem with the headlight by exchanging the stock headlight for a headlight from Izh in excellent condition and with the inscription “Made in the USSR”. I put a car halogen H4 55/60 there, although I also have a purely motorcycle halogen HS1 35/35 in stock.

At the same time, I also made a trunk for long trips, which is easily mounted in place of the standard handles for the rear passenger.

Then I made a chain trap, installed an alarm system, engine crankcase protection, a glove compartment from an old stainless thermos, played with the GTZ as a result of which a 107 jet was installed from a DAAZ 21073 carburetor repair kit, increased the driver's footrests, remade the muffler and made a couple of new ones in search of optimal traction and sound , and installed a windshield from the ebrik to protect the now uncovered tidy from the rain.

However, soon I stupidly dropped the motorcycle, the windshield broke and I cut it out of thin polycarbonate, so it has survived to this day. I didn’t try to solve the problem with the main drive in the 2021 season, since the chain had completely stretched out by the end of the season and doing anything with it in anticipation of winter was simply a problem. This winter I bought a new 41 tooth rear sprocket instead of the stock 52 teeth and a new chain. I installed a fog light. I removed all the plastic and had it professionally painted with paint left over from painting a Volkswagen Polo. ))) I sprayed the matte black frame, fork, swingarm and rims with acrylic varnish from an aerosol can. Now it looks like this.

I remember with pleasure the wonderful last motorcycle season and look forward to the start of a new one. )))

PS I forgot to write about breakdowns. Over the course of 6,000 km, there was only one breakdown - the reserve fuel level sensor leaked and was replaced with a plug. Since I no longer have a reserve sensor, I made a dipstick to control the fuel level from a nylon clamp. I also broke countless mirrors and clutch and front brake levers - all in the process of stupid falls. )

Reviews from Irbis VR-1 owners

IRBIS VR-1, 2013

For the money, the motorcycle is gorgeous, stronger than the Voskhod, but weaker than the Jupiter. Its advantages: good acceleration, pleasant sound, appearance, I don’t know about reliability - I rode 1200 km. Of the minuses: tires can be treated by replacing them, I installed Dunlop, replaced the carburetor with a good Japanese one with slightly larger jets. Valves, many people struggle with them, but mine were 0.03 and 0.06 from the factory, so I’m happy and satisfied. The light of the IRBIS VR-1 is too weak, it can be treated by installing xenon, but not very powerful, 35W is enough, and without a lens, otherwise we interfere with the road, some bolts are unscrewed, it can be treated immediately after purchase. We buy blue thread fixing, not red, because... then we can’t unscrew the red one without a hair dryer, and we unscrew all the bolts that are needed and pull them through with the fixing. We pay attention to the engine mounting to reduce vibration by installing rubber gaskets. And, most importantly, test it properly, don’t drive it more than 40, and then the IRBIS VR-1 will reward you with a long service life. Good luck on the roads.

Advantages

: vigorous for acceleration. Pleasant exhaust sound. Appearance is good.

Flaws

: standard tires. The light is weak.

IRBIS VR-1, 2014

I drove 1000 km on IRBIS VR-1. There are problems: the revs jump as they please. It starts only with gas (the choke does not help), it may stall at idle. I turned it off and went to drink coffee, I came, turned on the ignition, and there were 0 emotions from it, the instrument panel did not light up, it turned out that the ignition wire was coming off. The seat won't open, something is stuck there. In short, the entire IRBIS VR-1 needs to be adjusted, adjusted, and shown to some specialist.

Advantages

: drives well.

Flaws

: Requires constant attention.

IRBIS VR-1, 2012

I've owned a motorcycle for 3 years, only good reviews. At the end of last season I had an accident (without injuries, not my fault), the front wing and speedometer burst a little (cured), but the most offensive thing is that the wheel moved a little (the brake disc is fine), straightened it, everything is fine (for a new one) was ready for the season). This year my brother gave me a Ninzdu 400 2011. At first I forgot about the IRBIS VR-1, but a week ago I punctured the rear wheel on it and remembered about the “old friend” and decided to take it for a ride. At first everything was fine, literally 500 meters before the first turn I braked (I always hold down both the front and rear brakes), started off and heard a sound, something was scratching in the front wheel, I stopped and looked - everything seemed fine, I drove on, the sound continued, I turned around , went home. After a thorough inspection, I noticed that the brake fluid level had decreased (I never added it, there were no leaks, I check such things before every trip). I unscrewed the brake - everything looked fine, I shook it, tightened all the bolts, and put it back. I decided to take another ride, as soon as I started driving more than 20 km/h, the sound began to increase. I decided to press the front brake all the way, but as a result the sound only intensified and the fluid level decreased a little more. In short, China is China.

Advantages

: appearance. Pleasant to drive.

IRBIS VR-1, 2013

So, my opinion about the IRBIS VR-1 (I’ll say right away that this is not my first motorcycle, and was purchased spontaneously). The seating position is comfortable, but not for long trips; after fifty kilometers you begin to fidget in the saddle at the same point where you were looking for adventure. Brakes: the front brakes as it should, even though it is a 1-piston machine with one disc. The rear is a drum type, only for slowing down and maneuvering at low speeds. The rider's position is somewhere between a classic and a naked, in general, neither here nor there. I was pleased with the consumption: about 7 liters per two hundred (break-in and half a stick of gas). The fork does the job, but the rear shocks definitely don't. It would be more correct to put them on a motorcycle weighing about 200 kg. On the IRBIS VR-1 they really kick back on every bump and hole, after 30 km they started to rise up on uneven surfaces, like on an enduro when driving over large obstacles. Gearbox: when the speed is reduced, sometimes the lower gears do not want to “stick” like 3-2-1, this can be corrected by “snatching” in the gear in which the gearbox shift foot is placed, and there is no talk of any “circular gearbox”, as the manufacturers say . Conclusions: an excellent small-capacity motorcycle for the city (village), but not suitable for long-distance travel. Izhey “does” all the brands I know without any doubt, and at half power it fully fulfills its 100 km per hour at 6000 rpm.

Advantages

: frisky. Universal. Easy to manage. Easy to repair.

Flaws

: Rear shock absorbers are too hard.
