A motorcycle that is expected by many on the Russian market, the new product promises to bring down prices on the secondary motorcycle market, since it offers them an excellent alternative. Indeed, the price of the new Stels 300 Benelli promises to be at the level of 150,000 rubles, for a fresh model of a motorcycle with a fundamentally new Italian-designed engine and at the same time a simple but progressive suspension and a 300cc engine, which, according to the stated characteristics, does not lag behind the four hundred. This motorcycle is the golden mean between a beginner and an adult motorcycle in all aspects. It is not overly powerful, but at the same time very dynamic and beautiful. The curb weight of the Stels 300 Benelli is 185 kg, as a result of which the motorcycle does not blow away from oncoming trucks. And although a competitor in the same cubic capacity, the Kawasaki Ninja 300, has a maximum speed of 191 km/h, compared to the Stels 300 Benelli, you should not count on achieving speeds over 160 km/h, although it accelerates to 100 in 6.5 seconds.

A motorcycle, in conditions of congested city roads, will be an excellent option for high-speed travel, but only on the condition that the rider has excellent command of technology. Therefore, the 300 cc engine will serve as the best option not only for speed lovers who have not achieved perfection in control, but also for more experienced bikers.
When choosing a bike, you should immediately decide where you plan to ride it. It’s one thing if you don’t expect to travel outside the city, and quite another if you’re traveling long distances or traveling cross-country. The type of model – classic, sportbike, cruiser, etc. – will depend on the nature of the two-wheeled vehicle’s operation.

Stels Benelli 300 is another guest from the Middle Kingdom, intended primarily for novice motorcyclists. However, it stands out from the whole horde of Chinese small-capacity motorcycles due to its very good technical characteristics. In the end, Chinese motorcycle manufacturers have long learned to diligently copy old Japanese engines and successful design ideas, but they rarely produce anything truly interesting, and usually in those cases when designers refuse blind copying and invent something of their own.
Stels Benelli 300 is exactly that case. Externally very similar to its “big brother” Stels Benelli 600, it looks fresh and modern. Moreover, the appearance of this motorcycle does not reek of anything “Chinese” at all, if we talk about stereotypes, and at the same time it does not try to be like its Japanese competitors, as, for example, the Genata GM250YZF-R does. The motorcycle looks, to be honest, very nice and modern. But, of course, the most interesting thing is not the appearance, but what is inside, although one cannot help but pay attention to the appearance.
Since the Stels Benelli 300 is an inexpensive and budget motorcycle, you shouldn’t expect any innovations here. However, after reading the sheet of its technical characteristics, you understand that this model is not inferior to similar budget models from Japanese manufacturers, or almost not inferior, while being sold for much more modest money. In addition, everything that is on this motorcycle is made very well and reliably, again dispelling the stereotype that everything Chinese is necessarily bad.
The frame of the motorcycle, of course, is steel - what else can you expect from an inexpensive small-capacity bike? But a quite decent 2-cylinder 8-valve injection engine is inserted into it. The maximum power of the Stels Benelli 300 is 37 hp. (at 11,500 rpm), maximum torque - 27 Nm (at 9,000 rpm). For dynamic driving, the engine must be “twisted”, since at low speeds it accelerates quite sluggishly, as you would expect from a 300 cc motorcycle. But upon reaching optimal speed, the dynamics of the Stealth begin to surprise and delight. The motorcycle can accelerate up to 160 km/h.
This is partly due to the completely modern 6-speed transmission. Yes, yes, this “Chinese” has six full gears. Considering the modest cubic capacity, this means that you will have to actively work with the gearbox foot when driving around the city, since the gears are quite short, but this technical solution adds dynamics. In general, the Stels Benelli 300 is quite capable of competing with, for example, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 - their acceleration dynamics are comparable.
Another plus in favor of this Chinese motorcycle is its excellent chassis. How many budget motorcycles can you name that can boast of an inverted fork? But the Stels Benelli 300 has just such a fork. A classic monoshock absorber is installed at the rear. The suspensions work well, however, if a passenger sits in the back, this immediately affects the behavior of the motorcycle in a negative way - the bike “sags” and handles noticeably worse. But this is, after all, a compact small-capacity car, not a luxury tourer.
The motorcycle weighs little; the curb weight of the Stels Benelli 300 is only 196 kg, and the dry weight is about 175 kg. The gas tank holds 16 liters of fuel, which is more than enough for any purpose - the “Chinese”’s gas consumption is low, and besides, it readily consumes AI-92, which is available at any gas station. The classic seating position is also pleasing, but a tall or particularly long-legged motorcyclist will most likely feel cramped on this example of the Chinese motorcycle industry. Even the aforementioned Stels Benelli 600 is not distinguished by its respectable dimensions, what can we say about its “younger brother”?
But for urban conditions, the nimble and sneaky Chinese motorcycle is perfect. It is ideal for weaving through traffic jams - lightweight, pleasant to drive and with sufficient traction for all necessary maneuvers, the Stels Benelli 300 will be an excellent vehicle for everyday driving. You just have to keep in mind that outside the city it still doesn’t have enough power reserves for overtaking, and it’s noticeably blown away by side winds, but as a motorcycle for the city it’s quite good. And it’s inexpensive, so it has every chance of taking away some of the potential buyers from Japanese manufacturers with their Yamaha YBR-125, Honda CB 250F and others.
