I would like to tell you about my first motorcycle

So, MMVZ-3.1135 “Minsk”

A short preface

“Minsk” appeared in our family a long time ago. My father, having returned from the army in 1976, bought a completely new motorcycle “Minsk” model 3.112 for 200 then rubles. This “Minsk” served him faithfully for 30 years, and during these thirty years my father never (!) changed the piston, adjusted the ignition, cleaned the muffler, etc. All maintenance consisted of cleaning the carburetor as it became clogged and changing the oil in a timely manner. ALL! And he would have ridden it to this day if the misfortune had not happened. In the winter of 1996, a fire broke out in the garage where the motorcycle was parked (and besides the motorcycle there were a lot of interesting things there). It was not possible to get anything out of the burning garage.

So the motorcycle was gone. Meanwhile, a little son was growing up in the family, who, from the age of four, really loved driving with his dad, sitting with his butt on the tank and importantly pressing buttons on the steering wheel. And when his son turned 14 years old, he came to his dad with an offer to buy a motorcycle. Dad said: once you finish 9th grade, I’ll think about it. The son brought his father a certificate without a single C, and the father said: “Okay! Let's buy it!"

At first they planned to buy an “Owl,” but by the time my father got ready to go to the store, there were no new “Owls” or “Couriers” left in the stores. And then the father decided: “Let’s take the “macaque”!”

"Minsk-3.1135"

And now the brand new red “Minsk” was brought to the dacha. Naturally, my dad and I (and I had a lot of driving experience at that time - three trips on the Pilot and one on a scooter) quickly rushed to start it. They poured oil and gasoline, opened the tap, and the father pulled the kick. Zero emotions! It just seems to catch on and immediately stall. And at the company it started normally. My father dismantled half of the motorcycle, changed the bobbin, spark plug wire, and connected the wires directly. Nothing. And only an hour later a simple idea came to mind: should I check the spark on the spark plug? We checked. And the candle is broken! Dad swore at the careless sellers for a long time.

Fortunately, we had spare candles. After the replacement, the motorcycle started on the second press of the kick. And off we went.

As I already said, I had virtually no driving experience. Therefore, the first day, under the guidance of my father, I learned to get under way. And a week later he was dashing around the collective farm fields and ravines.

So here it is. The motorcycle was purchased in June 2005, as they say, “zero” in a store near the Sviblovo metro station for 21,000 rubles. The mileage to date is around 4200 km. Operates from March to November.

I only fill in 92 gasoline. Oil is Castrol Super TT or Mannol 2T in the tank and our Soviet M8B in the box.

I accelerated on it to a maximum of 120, and only once - it was scary. Cruising speed is 80-90 km/h on the highway and 60-70 on concrete. The motorcycle is very high-torque - from 40 km/h with a passenger you can ride in 4th gear and still accelerate. Gasoline consumes, depending on the speed, from 3 to 5 liters per hundred.

The nameplate engine power is 10 hp, which seems underestimated, because the engine on the “Leader” is of a new type, with a different cylinder. But not Chinese, our 2T.

There weren’t that many malfunctions on it, and all of them were my fault. Already after 2000 km I changed the piston because I was driving in the heat with the ignition faulty and the ring in the engine burst due to overheating. At speed I ran into a good hole - a crack appeared along the rear rim, and in the end I had to replace it. The low beam filament fell off on the potholes - replace the light bulb. I also bought a dashboard, mirrors and turn signals - but these were the consequences of two falls.

Overall, the motorcycle proved to be quite reliable and comfortable and suited perfectly for rural areas. I'm not going to sell or change it.

In general, for the money - the best choice.

Reviews part 1.

Review: Motorcycle Minsk S 125 - The Minsk S125 motorcycle is good, but not for long trips.

Advantages:

Consumption is 3 liters per hundred, convenient for driving short distances.

Disadvantages: Light and unstable, low speed, vibration.

I probably won’t be able to accurately describe all its technical characteristics, but all of this can be found on the Internet. I'll better describe my impression of him. We got this motorcycle thanks to the persuasion of my husband, who convinced me that such a chance does not come along often. And indeed the motorcycle was sold by a girl who had an accident on it and believed that now the motorcycle was only good for spare parts, which is why she sold it at the ridiculous price of 5,000. We bought it. We replaced the headlight and front fork and the motorcycle was like new - I didn’t even have to paint it!

This motorcycle is good for driving short distances - riding around dachas, going into the forest, and so on. Gasoline consumption is 3 liters per hundred. Although the two of us had a long trip on it, it was 300 km one way. Why is it inconvenient to drive long distances? Firstly, it is very light and therefore unstable. On the way, it is literally blown off the road, especially if the Kamaz passes by at high speed. Secondly, the speed is low (although for me this is a plus), it simply won’t go more than 80 km/h together, and a comfortable speed is 60 km/h. And thirdly, it’s vibration. After a long journey, you can’t feel some parts of your body at all. Many probably remember how the asphalt melted in the summer of 2010, and what furrows remained on the asphalt subsequently. So, when a motorcycle is driving in such a lane, and you need to change lanes, then leaving the lane becomes a problem. At least I felt uncomfortable in the passenger seat.

But going to the forest to pick mushrooms, riding along the slopes - there is no substitute for this!

We recently purchased a Suzuki DF200 Suzuki DF200 and it is much more comfortable for us to ride.

Use time: 3 years

Cost: 5000 rub.

Advantages: economical, easy to operate

Disadvantages: not fast

During a trip to visit my family, a pleasant surprise awaited me. Last summer we visited their village and I again had the opportunity to sit on a “goat” (That’s what we once called the M-106 motorcycles for their excellent driving performance.) Now a new, modern version of the Minsk motorcycles has appeared - Minsk S 125. Exactly I asked my nephew for it to go for a ride.

Like its predecessors, it turned out to be easy to drive and became safer (due to the use of modern materials and softer shock absorbers). Of course, driving on country roads cannot be called comfortable, but it doesn’t shake much. The maximum speed is 120 km/h, but I don’t recommend exceeding even 100, it’s too light and can accidentally fly away from under the driver. Economical, even off-road consumption is 3-3.5 liters per hundred. The design has changed for the better, no wonder my nephew is very proud of his friend. And local girls, as in our time, are very willing to sit behind his back.

Thanks to the Minsk motorcycle for such pleasant memories and for riding like a breeze. If riding this motorcycle costs nothing even for me, then what can we say about young people. Minsk motorcycles remain popular among rural youth to this day.

Use time: 4 years

Cost: 6800 rub.

Year of manufacture/purchase: 2008

General impression : Hello “goat”. This is not a curse, but rather a praise

Motorcycle Minsk MMVZ 3.112 3.115.

The Minsk MMVZ 3.112 motorcycle began to be manufactured as the basic version of the Minsk series motorcycles. During the 1991 release, the Minsk MMVZ 3.112 Motorcycle had various modifications.

For example, the following: Minsk MMVZ 3 112.14 - this model of motorcycle was called "PIONEER", that is, pioneer. The main difference between this line of motorcycles was the following: the headlight.

There is also another “PIONEER” model: this is the model that is number 3. 112.15. The difference between this model and others is that it has a modified front fork of the motorcycle. There are many versions for this motorcycle, for example for the military, the so-called border version of the Minsk motorcycle.

This model has a protective color, its brand is MMVZ 3 112.15 and this series also has a steel tubular heavy-duty frame, as well as the latest motorcycle cladding.

The motorcycle consumption is about 3 liters of gasoline per 100 km. ways.

Engine capacity - 125 cubic cm. Power - 10 horsepower. The speed of this motorcycle is about 75-80 km. per hour, and the Minsk motorcycle can reach a maximum speed of up to 100 km per hour. The motorcycle runs easily on expensive AI-76 gasoline, has one air-cooled cylinder, and reaches a maximum power of almost 11 horsepower, 10.88 to be precise. The motorcycle reaches a dry weight of 123 kg. It is more than two meters long, twenty meters high, and has a gas tank of 11 liters.

“He’s as simple as a shoe and gets his money back in full.” Review from M1NSK X250 owner

Three years ago, we studied the M1NSK X250 inside and out: we conducted a life test and even gave the motorcycle to seasoned endurists to be torn to pieces. For a complete set, the only thing missing was the impressions of the owner of such a “minchik”.

And here he is! Sergey bought a 2021 motorcycle in May and uses it almost every day, regularly going for rides through forests and fields. How Belarusian technology proved itself over 4,000 kilometers - in the owner’s story:

– When I was thinking about buying my first motorcycle, I wanted something hassle-free. The first thing that came to mind was the M1NSK, especially since everyone knows it, it’s not a very expensive and marketable motorcycle. For spare parts everything costs pennies.

So initially I went to test my license with the goal of buying myself an M1NSK. I ride a bike cross-country a lot, and it was interesting to try the same thing, only instead of pedaling, I was propelled by a motor. Therefore, I immediately set my sights on the X250.

Up close, motorcycles from recent years of production can be distinguished by this sticker - the font has become different, more chopped

I bought the motorcycle at the beginning of the season, then the X250s were available in any color. The only thing is that Motovelo only offered installments for 6 months, and I needed a little more. That’s why I bought the X250 from an online store and they delivered it straight to my garage. They offered to deliver it either in a box or already assembled. It is logical that it would not be possible to start the option in a box and test it, so I arranged for it to be delivered assembled.

Everyone says that after purchasing an M1NSK you need to arm yourself with keys and hand over everything you see. I can only confirm this. But then nothing unscrews along the way. But after 80 kilometers, a problem emerged: the engine would stall if the tank was full. It turned out that the fuel supply hose from the tank to the tap was bent. I found out on the forums that this is a common problem. I simply threw out the faucet and directly connected the tank and carburetor through the filter. The problem immediately disappeared.

At about 1,500 kilometers, the rear pendulum creaked. The grease has simply run out, everything is on the bushings, not on the bearings. Eliminating this problem is not difficult: remove the wheel, take out the pendulum, fill it with grease, insert the axle - half an hour of work.

One day, after reading a lot of forums, I unscrewed the spark plug. It turned out that it was completely white, without any plaque at all - which means the mixture was rather poor. I decided to raise the needle in the carburetor by one notch. I removed the tank without disconnecting the fuel level sensor and raised the needle. But after that the sensor doesn’t work - I couldn’t figure it out and didn’t go any further.

I change the oil quite often. I immediately changed it according to the regulations, 900 grams, but now I fill in a little more, 1000-1100. At first I used motorcycle Elf 10W40, but then I read the forums and rode with other owners of such motorcycles - they said that the technology is simple, the engine “digests” automotive semi-synthetic 10W40. Comma has been pouring for about 1000 kilometers, and the last time it was Lukoil - no problems.

The engine here is single-cylinder. Immediately it vibrated strongly, it was difficult to catch the “neutral” position. But with mileage these nuances disappeared. After 1000 kilometers the engine began to run somehow softer or something.

The power is quite enough for the city; I don’t even want to expect more from it. On the highway I would like some traction reserve. A comfortable speed outside the city according to the speedometer is 90 km/h, and according to GPS readings it is 85 km/h. On a country road where there are no cars, this speed is enough. But I went to Vileika, and the flow supported me on the highway. It didn't feel like there was any power reserve.

It is clear that this is an enduro, and on the track it lacks wind protection. But I don’t drive at high speeds, so it’s bearable.

My fuel consumption in the city is about 4 liters per 100 km, sometimes a little more. At the same time, I am not shy about twisting the throttle.

With my height, there are no questions about landing; I stand on the ground with my leg almost straightened. The motorcycle is not heavy, I dropped it more than once and picked it up without any problems.

During the endurance test, we complained about the flimsy plastic handle protection. The plant listened to the comments - now the protection is reinforced with a metal insert. According to Sergei, it can easily withstand falls, and in extreme cases it can be easily bent back to its original form

I rode it into forests and fields more than once. He earns his money there in full and gives pleasure. The X250 makes it clear what you need from a motorcycle: go completely enduro or go into something road. It's a great way to go mushroom hunting or fishing. Once we got together with the owners of “Minsk”, “Chinese” and something more serious at a training ground in the Angarskaya area - everything went well.

But those handles on the back are downright dangerous, I speak from my own experience. Once I was going on a ride to one of the lakes in the Minsk region, I was thrown on a hummock - my fifth point hit this handle. Not only did the pants and underwear tear, but there was also a trace left. I think we need to do as experienced endurists do: attach a strobe and pieces of seat belts between the handles so that you can drag the motorcycle by this place and not get injured while riding.

When off-road, you mostly drive while standing, and the kickstarter foot is located right next to your shin—you always rest against it. Everyone takes it off, I took it off too. The motorcycle always starts with a button, so there is no special need for a claw.

The tires here are stock, Chinese. They say she's tough. Perhaps it does not have a “holder” when compared with expensive models, but it is enough for this motorcycle.

I didn’t count the maintenance costs - they were pennies. A liter of branded oil – 11 rubles. I'll be replacing the chain and sprockets soon. An average chain costs around 60 rubles, a rear sprocket costs 30, a front sprocket costs 20. Spend 110 rubles and you can easily drive 6,000 kilometers.

Since May, I have ridden 4,000 kilometers on it without any problems. For beginners, the X250 can be highly recommended. It is clear that this is a Chinese device with our assembly - maybe from time to time it will be necessary to tighten a bolt or tighten something somewhere. The price/quality ratio suits me. Of course, I compare it with more expensive motorcycles and notice the nuances. It’s like with bicycles: you ride a lot and you understand where to improve.

But the X250 is as simple as a slipper and brings a lot of positive emotions, I like it. You don’t even need to ride into the forests, you can just go to work every day in the summer in good weather. This is a great toy for the money.

Motorcycle Minsk m 125 sport

In 2008, it begins to produce a new range of its products. Motorcycles in this series are famous for their practicality and unpretentiousness, maintainability and high cross-country ability. Having a small (120 kg) weight, motorcycles in this series manage to maneuver even on difficult sections of the road.

The motorcycles are equipped with a 125 cc engine with an air cooling system, as well as a four-speed gearbox. Disc brakes. Fuel consumption per 100 km. - 3 liters.

The model is lightweight and easy to operate, has a practical design that maintains reliability at a high level. The Motard and Naked models produced are indicators of concern for the quality of their motorcycles and the convenience of customers, a combination of strict design and easy handling.

Minsk M-125 sport:

The plant produces the Minsk M-125 Sport motorcycle, the date of birth of which is considered to be 2008. The model is made in the “street” style - intended for lovers of fast driving. Therefore, the factory increased the aerodynamic performance of the motorcycle and gave it a sporty look.

Almost everyone who was at the exhibition immediately appreciated the motorcycle. The success affected not only the appearance, but also the improved technical characteristics. The model has a single-cylinder 125 cc engine with a torque of 9 Nm at 7500 rpm. Engine power - 11 hp at 8500 rpm. A Mikuni carburetor was installed. The cylinder is made of a ceramic material specially developed by the plant, has an air cooling system, and 17-inch disks.

In accordance with modern demands, the starter and duplex frame have been improved. The main difference from other models is that the motorcycle has a five-speed gearbox. Weight is only 100 kg, which makes this model quite maneuverable. The fuel tank capacity is 7 liters, consumes gasoline at least AI - 92. The length of the motorcycle is 2050 mm, height 800 mm, width 870 mm.

Perhaps the only drawback is the speed. The motorcycle develops no more than 100 km/h, but has great stability and maneuverability. Wherever you are - at competitions or at an amateur race - thanks to its characteristics, the Minsk makes an excellent model for racing.

Geography of distribution:

Minsk motorcycles have already gained wide popularity not only in Russia, but also in the CIS countries, as well as throughout Europe. Over the entire period, 18 awards have been won, and with each new victory, interest in the plant’s products increases.

First of all, Minsk motorcycles are valued for their reliability and low price. The price of the Minsk M-125 is about 90 thousand rubles, which makes it attractive among small-capacity motorcycles.

Currently, the plant has signed contracts for supplies to England, Bulgaria and many other countries of the world.

Despite minor shortcomings, Minsk motorcycles are quite popular. I would like to believe that the Minsk M-125 sport will be better than its predecessors.

Minsk R 250 and Minsk C4 250.

Minsk R 250.

It's quite difficult to judge this motorcycle. By the time the article was published, no one had really driven it. Very, very contradictory data. After reading everything and even turning gray on it, you can understand several things. Which are simply necessary when choosing a motorcycle. Let's answer them. What kind of motorcycle is this?

The motorcycles are from Minsk, but they are completely assembled from foreign parts, as I was told - they just stuck a sticker on them. Now let's develop this topic. Since the parts are not ours, it will be difficult to buy them for replacement, that is, it’s just a foreign car. And isn’t it possible to just buy another motorcycle from these parts that they assembled there, abroad? Will be simpler. By the way, the prototype of the M1nsk R 250 was a full-fledged Megelli 250R motorcycle. I would say that ours didn’t even bother with a new design. Here we open up another question for ourselves - you can just buy a Megelli 250R, it’s time-tested, reliable, and yet ours don’t match the build quality.

General ergonomics Minsk R 250

In short, the design is top notch. But even here, if you think about it, you can be deceived. When you see such a design, you expect acceleration dynamics and maneuvers between cars. This design gives you confidence to overtake any car, because this is a sport, it is aggressive. Well, in fact, you can get a duck... It is worth remembering that 250 cubes and this puts you in your place and even upsets you. The design is good, but deceptive, if only they put 400cc in this motorcycle.

Engine Minsk R 250

The engine was taken and removed from another motorcycle. So let's turn then to its characteristics of the Megelli 250R. You can read the characteristics of the Minsk R 250 and the conclusion for this model here.

Review:

I have owned Minsk since May 2012.;-) The mileage at the moment is a little more than 1000 km. This is my first motorcycle because... I used to be sympathetic to them (especially sports), but no more. But here in 2012. I decided to try myself. I chose him primarily with my eyes. First impressions left only positive emotions: Weight 135 kg, short wheelbase, very soft, excellent handling, the forced engine is playful and does not provoke anything, i.e. you feel great especially in a traffic jam when you have to weave between cars. Well, when you get on the highway, the speed is quite enough, but here I will make a small digression. Firstly, once you test new equipment, it will continue to serve!!! The first 500 km. Vibration was strongly felt at 6000 rpm (it didn’t give any more) and I drove around the city no more than 70 km/h after 1000 km. mileage it has already noticeably “opened up” and produces 140 km/h in sixth gear at 7000 rpm, there is a reserve, I think in the future it will be capable of more. Now in terms of quality, the quality is not bad, but the model is damp, this is especially evident from the assembly (crooked bolts), and some factory defects: The fuel filter is of poor quality and it tends to get airy and after a short period of inactivity you have to drive it with the starter for a long time, the exhaust pipe is lower than the stop lamp and it often has to be polished, the air filter pipe is sandwiched between the frame and the rear shock absorber with a spring, the painting quality of the gas tank is very poor and the quality of its welding (I had to digest it), and of course I immediately changed the tires. I even know that many starters broke off, allegedly due to bad metal, and engines were torn apart because... something was falling off in them. I’ll answer this simply - you don’t need to turn the starter for a long time, if it doesn’t start or there’s no spark or the fuel doesn’t flow, but about engines, then when running in the equipment you need to use exactly as much as it was intended!!! But the quality of the metal is really not important. And the mirrors are installed so that you need to lie on the tank to have a good view.

But what upset me the most was the complete lack of spare parts and, accordingly, service. A defective gas tank is replaced from the moment of purchase and it is not known when it will be, but you have to decide on the little things yourself. I even called the main distributor in Russia, there are no spare parts, and the technicians say the same (we sell leftovers and even those are almost gone) it will be until the end of the year - unknown. And this is not due to the fact that the equipment is sold out well; the volumes allocated by the plant are very small, and the period of delivery and promises is enormous.

The general opinion about it is as follows: This motorcycle is intended not only for beginners, but also for those who travel in urban environments with constant traffic jams because... Dimensions and weight speak volumes, but the appearance and high-spirited engine will not leave you unnoticed.

Disadvantages of Minsk

The first drawback that many motorcyclists point out is the noisy operation of the engine, as well as the vibrations that arise during its operation. Vibrations can occur at a speed of 80-90 km/h, since the bike is light, it becomes unsafe to ride it. First of all, you need to check the fasteners, they tend to unwind. If the motor mounting nuts are tightened, then the reasons may be hidden inside the power unit. Often, on motorcycles with high mileage, problems begin with the gearbox. Often these problems are expressed by the overshoot of a specific speed.

Another problem area is kickstarter. The lever for starting the engine becomes loose with your foot at the point of attachment to the starting shaft. Numerous problems with the carburetor are also known. The shut-off valve needle wears out, rubber seals become unusable, all this leads to gasoline leakage. The Indian-made PAKKO carburetor has the greatest reliability and long service life. Over time, vibrations cause the exhaust pipe mounting nut to come loose, which also leads to a number of troubles. Control drive cables need to be replaced regularly. Usually, natural wear and tear leads to the need to replace them, but cases of sudden cable cord breakage are far from uncommon.

Operation of Minsk-125 involves preparing a fuel mixture of gasoline with the addition of motor oil. This leads to some inconveniences: you need to carry it with you, because not everywhere you can get the necessary lubricant. When running on fuel with oil, the engine becomes quieter, knocking and slight vibrations disappear. But here it is necessary to carefully approach the issue of choosing a lubricant. Its main indicator is viscosity. It should not be too thick, otherwise additional resistance will arise and there will be more negative aspects from adding such oil to the fuel. Also, the oil should not be too thin.
