Snowmobile Stels Viking V800 M 2.0

Stels Viking V800 is one of the latest snowmobiles produced by the Zhukovsky Stealth plant. The machine is a utilitarian snowmobile with a powerful power plant and a long track, and due to this it is well adapted to Russian off-road conditions and high temperature loads. The equipment has successfully proven itself in the northern regions of the Russian Federation, which was confirmed by factory tests and positive reviews from the majority of users. It is noteworthy that Russian specialists took part in the development of the snowmobile, who managed to create a comfortable and powerful model with durable and reliable components.

The Stealth Viking 800 model stands out for its original, distinctive design, and is not like most of its closest competitors. Based on this, it is not surprising how much the snowmobile differs from Yamaha machines, which also have their own design. Thus, we can conclude that the company managed to develop its own design concept, like famous Japanese brands like Yamaha. This is how Stealth products became more recognizable. However, this applies directly to the Stealth Viking 800 model, whose main innovations compared to its predecessor lie not only in design. Moreover, it should be noted that this is one of the few snowmobiles in its class that is equipped with LED headlights as standard. This innovation significantly influenced the quality of lighting, because the range of the light beam of such a headlight is 50 meters with low beam, and when the high beam is turned on, this figure increases to 150 meters. With the help of such a headlight, it was possible to ensure good visibility, including the smallest objects - recesses, protrusions and other obstacles that are so simply impossible to notice in the daytime and at night.

The Stealth Viking 800 snowmobile uses plastic elements in the body design, which made it possible to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle while maintaining strength. In addition, plastic is much cheaper and more practical than more expensive metal parts. The machine uses special plastic that is resistant to damage and deformation, as well as low temperatures. All components, including plastic ones, are manufactured by experienced specialists at the Zhukovsky plant. Of course, robotic equipment is also used to improve assembly quality. Many body elements are designed in such a way as to increase aerodynamic properties, and thereby improve fuel efficiency and dynamics.

The frame of the Stealth Viking 800 snowmobile, of course, is made of high-strength steel. This is a completely domestic development, which in terms of strength is not inferior to frame structures manufactured abroad. At the same time, the case itself is made of impact-resistant plastic, which does not crack and can withstand severe frosts. Moreover, the developers have provided a spacious space under the driver's seat - two batteries can be installed in it at once, which guarantees increased energy intensity and energy reserves, which is very important for northern climatic regions. In addition, especially for such conditions, the car is equipped with a heated steering wheel, improved air intakes and electrical wiring, which has special connectors that protect against moisture. The basic package of the Stealth Viking 800 snowmobile includes a spacious trunk, heated handles and trigger functions, a high-capacity fuel tank, an adjustable driver's seat, a reinforced bumper and a branch guard.

Key features of the Stealth Viking 800 snowmobile:

  1. The instrument panel stands out for its special properties in terms of ergonomics. The devices are designed in such a way that they do not glare in bright light, and they are easy to read. In addition to the speedometer and tachometer, the instrument panel displays fuel consumption, oil pressure, engine temperature and daily mileage.
  2. The steering components do not require getting used to. All levers and switches, including gas, reverse and gearbox gears, are located very conveniently, and you don’t have to reach for them. If necessary, you can turn on the heated steering wheel and throttle trigger, as well as the driver and passenger handles. We also note the convenient location of the hydraulic brake, with which you can secure the machine during transportation.
  3. The rear and front lighting system is presented in the form of lights (one light each at the front and rear). The LED lights are mounted high enough, and thanks to this, the snowmobile can be seen even in bad weather conditions or at night.
  4. A spacious trunk, made of durable plastic, is installed behind the passenger backrest. This component is necessary to protect the steel frame. If necessary, the trunk can be dismantled and used as a support platform for transporting another passenger or cargo container.
  5. The maximum load capacity of the towbar, included in the basic package, is within 500 kg.
  6. Wide tracks for improved cross-country ability and directional stability
  7. Durable front bumper, which has a special platform for a winch.
  8. All of the listed components installed on a snowmobile are well suited for operating the machine in difficult climatic loads, regardless of the travel distance.

Engine

The Stealth Vikin 800 snowmobile is equipped with a powerful 4-stroke V-type engine. The engine has proven itself to be economical and high-torque. Durable and lightweight materials were used for its manufacture, which had a beneficial effect on reducing the weight of the snowmobile. Instead of an outdated carburetor, a fuel injection system is used, and this is a big advantage.

The injector is under full control of a modern on-board computer. The cooling system is liquid type, it is perfectly adapted to temperatures above zero degrees, and perfectly protects against overheating. With a displacement of 0.8 liters, the 4-stroke engine develops 67 horsepower and torque is 73 N/m. The compact two-cylinder design is simple and easy to maintain, even in the field. The cylinder diameter is 91 mm. The developer recommends using fuel with an octane rating of at least 92. A Stealth Viking 800 snowmobile equipped with such an engine consumes an average of 12 liters per 100 km. The gas tank capacity is 45 liters.

How much does Viking 800 cost?

A new Stels Viking from an official dealer costs about 469 – 614 thousand rubles. This difference in the price of a new snowmobile is explained by the fact that stores can offer both 2021 and 2021 models without mileage. In addition, the “Viking” marked “M” is considered an outdated version in comparison with cars that have the M 2.0 CVTech additive in their name.

However, the previous version will cost less – around 260 – 450 thousand rubles. In the second case, the price depends on the year of manufacture and technical condition. So a 2014 snowmobile with PSM and in good condition will cost about 280, and a 2021 model without mileage will cost 470 thousand rubles.

Reviews

  • Vitaly, Krasnodar region. A very mediocre car, I don’t recommend anyone to buy it. I just saw enough and read all sorts of content supposedly about how good this snowmobile is. The Viking 800 model turned out to be the complete opposite in practice. This device cost me a lot - last year it cost about 450 thousand rubles. I use the device exclusively for short distances, but even in this case problems arise. Of course, at first everything was fine. In recent months (at least this winter season), the car has been spending most of its time in the garage. Breakdowns occur precisely in the chassis, but from the point of view of controllability, the snowmobile pleased me. The cross-country ability is very mediocre, despite the off-road equipment, wide track, long skis, etc. I advise you to think ten times before purchasing this model.
  • Alexander, Tomsk. The car was bought at a local shopping center two years ago. Like all snowmobiles, this model has its advantages and disadvantages. The main problem with the products of this brand is poor service support due to the fact that the brand is almost not represented in Russia. This is why problems arise related to the shortage of spare parts. In addition, the parts themselves are very expensive, you have to order them and wait a long time. In short, in the end the buyer is left alone with his problems. The quality of the components themselves is excellent, but even this is not particularly pleasing, considering the above. The car appears to be domestic, but is made from imported components. There is no pride in the domestic auto industry, and this whole “import substitution” program is pure PR. In terms of maintainability, the Stealth Viking 800 can be compared with snowmobiles from, but in terms of characteristics there is nothing special. The machine is quite fast and easy to operate, with a high load capacity. But the service is too let down. I will not recommend this device to anyone.
  • Yana, Leningrad region. I bought a Stealth Viking V800 snowmobile for my friend's birthday. The gift turned out to be unexpected - how could a girl buy a snowmobile? The sellers recommended this particular model. My birthday boy appreciated the comfortable seat, high windshield, economical fuel consumption of 20 liters per hundred, as well as other parameters. I also liked the spacious trunk. During the run-in, Denis complained to the service about the fuel hoses, which fell apart on the first ride - maybe because of the low temperature, I didn’t look into it too much. Replaced under warranty, no more problems. According to him, he generally likes the car. Or maybe he’s just saying that so that I don’t get upset. But this is a gift from the bottom of my heart, and I hope the car is really cool. Well, for me, she is very beautiful and stylish.
  • Anatoly, Ekaterinburg. I rode a Stealth Viking 800 snowmobile for about 4 thousand kilometers. Before this model, I had a Stealth Wolverine - also a good snowmobile, but it got pretty old and I had to sell it. Viking is a more reliable car, and very nimble. The snowmobile is capable of ironing any snow - compacted or deep. You can also travel with two passengers. There are heated grips, steering wheel and gas trigger - this is very useful at temperatures of minus 20 degrees and below. Fuel consumption is 23 liters per 100 km. A good car for an affordable price.

User manual

Each new snowmobile comes with a detailed instruction manual and warranty card. The main components of the machine, inspection and maintenance procedures are described here. In addition, the manual contains recommendations for running in and operating the all-terrain vehicle.

Maintenance

To keep your snowmobile in good working order, vital components must be inspected and serviced regularly. This helps in time to detect a minor malfunction, which can subsequently cause a serious breakdown. The driver can do some maintenance himself, but larger repairs will require the assistance of a qualified technician.

Types of maintenance:

NamePeriodicity
RegularEvery time before a trip, after returning to the garage.
TO-130 days after purchase, or upon reaching 500 km.
TO-2At the end of the winter season or after 2,000 km.

All subsequent maintenance is carried out every 2 thousand km or once a year during conservation.

Break-in recommendations

Any new engine requires mandatory running-in. Of course, this only applies to new cars purchased from an official Stealth dealer, and not on the secondary market. This period is very important, since its further functionality and service life depend on how the power unit is operated during the first 500 km.

Run-in modes:

Distance traveled (km)Maximum speed (km/h)Other recommendations
1 — 15050Constantly change the speed of movement, monitor the opening of the throttle valve (should be less than 50%).
150 — 50060 — 75Do not open the throttle completely - maximum three quarters.
Over 50080 — 85Change the engine oil, carry out the first full maintenance of all components and assemblies.

Ask a Question

During the break-in period, the engine may consume more fuel and engine oil than stated in the technical specifications. This is due to the fact that the engine parts are run-in and ground to the required gap sizes.

Controls

Like any other snowmobile, on the Viking the main control elements are located on the steering wheel and dashboard. On the display, the user can see the speedometer, odometer and current time. Also located here are the buttons for switching the instrument panel display and the indicators themselves:

  • turning on low beam, high beam, side lights;
  • heated handles;
  • emergency voltage range;
  • turning on reverse, “Parking” mode;
  • oil pressure;
  • motor overheating;
  • coolant temperature;
  • malfunctions of power unit control systems.

The emergency brake and throttle control lever are located on the right steering handle. There is also a button to turn on the ignition and electrical appliances.

Controls located on the left handle:

  • brake lever;
  • lever lock;
  • engine stop button;
  • cover of the main brake fluid reservoir.

The engine stop button does not have a latch, so it must be kept pressed until the engine stops completely.
