Harley Davidson Forty-Eight
The 1,200cc V-Twin-powered Forty Eight has sold well since its introduction in 2012 and has attracted the interest of many young, style-conscious, serious motorcycle riders to Harley Davidson. For 2021, the bike gets a host of upgrades that include a new suspension with 49mm aluminum cartridge forks and 2 new rear shock absorbers with variable rate springs and preload adjustment. And in 2021, new stylish wheels will replace the spoked wheels of the previous model.
Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight
The Harley Davidson Forty-Eight will be equipped with a wide 130 mm front tire and forged aluminum wheels. The classic peanut-shaped tank that is a hallmark of the Forty-Eight will remain in place, as will the stubby fenders.
Ben McGinley, industrial designer for Harley Davidson said:
The low handlebars and forward pedals make the Forty-Eight have an aggressive riding position, and we reflected this in the design of the bike. The big front wheel looks like a roller skating down the street. We've reduced the size of the round steel air cleaner and left less chrome on the exhaust components to draw attention to the engine, which looks particularly large next to the peanut-shaped tank located above it. I would describe this bike as a "functional muscle bike."
Harley added in a press release:
The fuel tank style, which includes horizontal stripes, which is again being seen on custom bikes, harkens back to the style of the 1970s. These stripes are repeated on various parts of the motorcycle: in the stitching of the seat, in the slots of the muffler screens, on the rear sprocket and belt guard. New lightweight 9-split-spoke cast aluminum wheels feature a black finish with brushed areas. The combination of brake light, tail light and turn signals gives the rear fender a clean look.
The motorcycle will be available in black, silver, red and gold colors. There will also be a Candy color option available.

Harley Davidson stated that the colors of the Iron 883 were chosen to ensure that dirt would not be visible on the motorcycle. This way, riders who live in urban areas won't have to worry about their motorcycle looking dirty. The bike will come in Gray and Olive Gold colors with an eagle and shield logo and will also be available in a 'Hard Candy Custom Gold Flake' color scheme.

The motorcycle weighs 251 kg (unloaded seat height 760 mm, length 2245 mm and width 820 mm) and accelerates to one hundred kilometers per hour in 5.4 seconds. This is a pretty good result. The price of the Harley Davidson Sportster 883 Roadster motorcycles is pleasing; among Harleys they are one of the most inexpensive.
