The Russian-made tricycle, the photo of which is given below, belongs to innovative modifications. The unit is based on a double-circuit frame, trimmed with plastic panels; two original doors open upward. The prototype version is equipped with a V-shaped engine and a Suzuki gearbox. In the future, it is possible to use other power units and transmissions.

The device is equipped with an additional reverse gearbox, with which it connects a 16-inch wheel via a cardan shaft. The front wheels are 18 inches, the suspension is placed on paired wishbones, and the rear is a similar unit of a pendulum type. The entire brake block is of a disk configuration.

The MK‑17 device is equipped with information gyroscopes, which, together with accelerometers and magnetometers, provide information to the control system about the tricycle’s deviation from the vertical, its position relative to the support and the impact of centrifugal force. The required tilt is provided electronically through the electric motor rod system.

Now the prototype MK-17 is in the museum of its creator Alexei Kazartsev. The machine has real market prospects; under favorable circumstances, serial production of the equipment can be launched by 2021.

How I made a car trailer with my own hands.

Due to ready-made components (trunnions, springs, bearings, coupling devices, shock absorbers, wheels) and simple tools (welding, grinders, drills), it is much easier to manufacture than its wooden ancestor. 

Now there is an idea to make a removable living unit in the Teardrop style. I am engaged in the selection of optimal materials for this task.

The production process does not stand still, adjustments are constantly being made in terms of improving tactical and technical parameters, and it is possible to manufacture machines according to individual projects. The main advantages of tricycles are their affordable price, excellent maneuverability, efficiency and good load capacity. Such units are not afraid of traffic jams and congestion, as well as cramped courtyards.

Project “Motortrain”, one-wheeled trailer for a motorcycle

It all started when I got tired of going on picnics loaded down like Eeyore. There is enough space under your feet in the scooter, a lot of things can fit in there, but you have to use the techniques of the fascinating Kama Sutra to ride.

It was decided to make a trailer. The two-wheeled option was immediately discarded, because... When traveling over rough terrain, the load on the motorcycle increases; you have to lay two tracks instead of using one.

A version of a one-wheel trailer was put into work; the idea was borrowed from the Internet. Because There was no pipe bender at hand, so the frame was welded from a square twenty pipe. I invented the bicycle myself, so I first cut the fragments according to the developed drawing, so that later a professional would put it all together. As he later explained to me, everything could have been done simpler, but since your hands are itching, why not scratch them.

Making a trailer for a moped is as easy as shelling pears

Owners of mopeds need to remember that traffic regulations prohibit attaching a trailer to their vehicle. But outside the city limits, people often break the rules and hitch trailers, because it is very convenient for transporting vegetables, construction materials and other luggage. At first it will be a little inconvenient to drive with a homemade trailer, but then everything will fall into place.

Materials and tools for homemade work: • medium-sized cart. It should have wheels of about 8 inches and a trailing clearance of 30 cm; • welding machine; • saw; • jigsaw; • paint, • hammer.

If financial capabilities allow, then it is best to purchase tubeless moped wheels. It’s best to install them right away; sooner or later the cart wheels will become unusable, but these ones will last much longer.

The ATV has really progressed sharply from a fun vehicle for adrenaline junkies into an all-wheel drive, all-terrain vehicle. The practicality of the “four-wheeler” has turned from imaginary to real.

An ATV model with a real cargo area appeared not so long ago. Although there have been previous attempts to improve the ATV by adding all kinds of boxes and special holders for shovels and other tools, equipping them with special trailers (more for decorative purposes) did not solve the problem of completely transforming the ATV into a cargo all-terrain vehicle.

Note. Boxes and clamps did not provide a large usable volume, and special trailers could not provide transportation of materials due to the most difficult off-road conditions.

The problem was solved only by installing a full-speed side body, which seriously increased the cargo capacity. Polaris is the first manufacturer to cut the Gordian knot. The company's designers equipped the Sportster ATV model with a tilting platform and installed an additional axle (from a 4-wheeled ATV it turned into a 6-wheeled one). As a result, the vehicle can easily transport up to 360 kg of cargo, which is almost three times more than a regular ATV could do.

How to make a scooter trailer with your own hands

DIY motorcycle trailer

There was a single-axle garden cart, I bought a second wheel, made an axle, two wheels, because it was impossible to carry on one. There was originally an axle, and there was a wheel. There was a one-wheeled car.

I secured the axle in a simple way - I welded the corners from the supports from the place where the axle was, and moved it 20 cm under the cart so that the load was more evenly distributed on the moped and on the load itself, which is on the cart. I made the hitch this way - the moped already had three attachment points. The bolts are inside, the arc comes out here. This is a standard bolt - this is all standard. I welded a triangular structure - shank, shank, and support. A hole, and just a nut, a cotter pin. It's better to put a pin here, of course. The rod bent with the thread was already a strong, hardened rod, so it would not straighten out even under a heavy load.

It turned out to be three degrees of freedom - the axis when you turn left and right, up and down. When the cart is tilted in different planes relative to the moped. It turns out three - let's move it and see what happens. Here it is, free, no distortions, nothing jams.

Initially, when I tried to carry 100 kg, the motorcycle did not feel the weight and rode easily. Two people on a moped are much heavier than carrying 100 on a trailer. There was an ordinary handle, made of two horns - I just welded the handle to the pipe and put it on the bolts. At first I thought when to carry it - to remove it, but it turns out that you can carry it around by unhooking it from the motorcycle. We carry it like a simple two-wheeled wheelbarrow. So I adapted a cart in which soil and other things can be transported.

Multi-Task Motorcycle Trailer

A long time ago, my brother wanted an efficient way to deliver newspapers along the road route and maybe also a way to get his two beagles to the dog park on his motorcycle. Side hacks and trailers were discussed, and finally we chose a trailer that fit the bill.

While exploring, we came across a one-wheel trailer. Several of them were for scooters and motorcycles. Lots of good ideas here, some of which were incorporated into my trailer design.

I thought something like this would be great for carrying things while traveling. Now that I'm retired, I seem to have the free time to take longer trips. So, after some thought, some sketching, and some specifications in mind, I contracted with a welder to build my trailer.

Close the hitch point. This high hitch height presented some problems. But I managed with what I had, and there are other trailers that are being lifted successfully. I may have installed the hitch lower after some time. It will take some time to figure out how to fit the hitch attachment into the available space without cutting holes in the plastic. This hitch has been slightly modified since this picture appeared. Some reinforcement was added to prevent the rear fender mounted tongue from bending, and closer tolerance bolts were used to remove any loose play in the fittings. This would allow for some pretty severe trailer wobble without these fixes. But now everything is fine.

This well-known domestic manufacturer of motorcycle equipment does not mass-produce modifications on three wheels. However, craftsmen give advice on how to transform a standard model into a tricycle.

You should start with the frame, which is made from scratch. Its configuration is designed in advance to eliminate breakdowns and strengthen vulnerable areas. Modernization is carried out by welding additional pipes and corners; an analogue from a walk-behind tractor or mini-harvester can be taken as a basis.

At the next stage, a fork is designed, the length of which depends on the features of the project. The long element is designed for driving on a straight road; more aggressive driving will require a shortened part.

As a power unit for a Russian-made tricycle, you can take the engine from Planet-3. The standard crankshaft, ignition coil, and generator will be used. A design feature in the body part will be the relocation of the engine to the rear to shift the balance when driving. This scheme will increase cross-country ability, controllability and speed. When installing parts, it is necessary to provide convenient access to areas that require regular maintenance.
