The SSV market is heavily occupied by BRP, Polaris, and Yamaha products.
Do you know that there are sides with an automatic transmission? Yes, almost a car-like six-speed automatic transmission. No belt, no variator, no monotonous high-pitched engine sound in all modes. Let's get acquainted with the Honda Pioneer 1000.
A little history.
In 2014, Honda launched the Pioneer 700, which occupied a special place in the market at that time. The model had good characteristics and confidently “held” the road. However, this is still a strong model. As time went on, competitors Polaris and Kawasaki released counter products. And then Honda, having collected all its accumulated experience, releases a new product that can “bring down” the modern market. And not only bring it down, but also move to the next level! The new model easily competes with the BRP Commander and Defender, Polaris Ranger and General, and is superior in some respects. For example, let’s compare the sizes of minibuses from Polaris and BRP:

At the same time, we are talking about 5 seats in Honda. And if you use only 4 seats, you can take even more luggage. The difference in length is 80 cm! This will be very useful in tight forest raids.
The appearance of the model looks more polished, a bug has been fixed where the color scheme of the door did not match the side panels. The door handles are located very conveniently - on the cards, so you won’t get dirty with dirt again. Deluxe and Limited Edition (LE) models feature LED headlights and taillights, 14-inch wheels and 27 tires.
Climbing into the driver's seat, you feel the changes - it is slightly raised and pushed forward. Visibility has clearly been improved. The legs and lower body of passengers are now better protected, which is important! The seats fold down comfortably, offering plenty of space for luggage underneath.
When creating a new product, Honda installed a completely new engine in the model with maximum performance among its own model range. The engine is a four-stroke with two cylinders and electronically controlled injection. Volume - 999 cm3. Power 72 l/s. The engine is offset from the center of the chassis, which reduces frictional resistance due to the optimal exit of the driveshafts from the transmission.
And yes, about the transmission! This is a separate topic! The Pioneer 1000 offers a fully automatic 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). Switching occurs without breaking the torque transmission. The LE model is additionally equipped with an I-4WD system that remembers driving style and adapts to the driver.
Let's start the engine. The sound of the engine is quiet and “smooth”; two cylinders and a liter volume are radically different from the usual rattling of 700s. The transmission operates smoothly, giving the illusion of driving a regular car with an automatic transmission. A separate processor controls gear shifting. Electronics constantly monitor the driver's driving style and style and offer the most efficient gear modes, reducing fuel consumption. There are three DCT transmission modes: full automatic, sport and manual. The first is a classic automatic, the second is electronics that allow the engine to spin to higher speeds in each gear, the third is a manual mode. In manual mode, gear shifting is done under the steering paddles! Transmission modes are selected using a separate lever. The following modes are available: TURF - 2WD - 4WD - 4WD Diff Lock with full blocking. The Hill-Start-Assist system will help you start moving on a slope. You can safely stop on a steep incline, activate the system by pressing the brake pedal harder than usual, then put your foot on the gas pedal and start moving without rolling back. When driving on dry ground, the car is stable, does not slip and has no tendency to stall, and drives along the highway quite confidently. In heavy mud, the Honda Pioneer 1000 rides about the same as its classmates from BRP and Polaris, and there is no risk of burning or breaking the belt. When using the gearbox in manual mode, in combination with a low gear, a very smooth start is achieved even in the most difficult conditions. When driving in any automatic transmission mode, you can always use the steering wheel switches and set the desired gear. Honda's wheel arches and safety margin allow you to install 30 wheels with the most serious tread and boldly storm any terrain.
The body's load capacity is an impressive 450 kg, and the vehicle can easily tow a load of up to 900 kg.
The new model is offered in the following main modifications: Honda Pioneer 1000 and 1000-5. The first is a three-seater model, the second is a five-seater with rear hinged doors and two additional seats that fold out from the floor of the body. The body of both modifications rises, providing access to the engine and other components. All seats, including folding ones in the body, are equipped with seat belts. Five-seater models are equipped with a system for maintaining a constant suspension level, regardless of load.

We think the new Pioneer models look great! We love our new sharpened body features. This gives the design a new flair and we know the Honda's plastics will stand up to the test. The all-terrain vehicle can be adapted to different tasks by instantly folding the rear seats. An additional advantage of such seats is less weight and less noise. Honda also made sure that dust does not get inside and to do this they made a rubber seal between the backs of the front and rear seats.
Pioneer becomes popular not without the merits of the previous Big Red and not without consumer demand (or even demand), all Pioneer models come with a full package of instruments and a handbrake to the right of the steering wheel.
